Food is OK but they took away the free sauce bottles(teriyaki, hot, mayo), an action that has made me unreasonably frustrated due to larger emotional issues in my life

Solid spot for fast healthy food. I always hit this spot after I finish up at fashion valley across the street. Honestly I don’t understand why they aren’t rated higher. Fish is good and fresh the tuna avocado roll is always on point and the chicken teriyaki roll is very creative and yummy.

Nice place. Good prices. Good place to go for lunch. Pleasant people working there. Sometimes when I came in there is a line but they try there best to move it along

Their crunch roll is not like the ones at other sushi places. Instead of crab meat and/or shrimp, it has teriyaki chicken with the teriyaki glaze, not eel sauce. It was ok.

It’s good for what it is: fast, convenient food. Sesame chicken bowl is good, as is the crab Rangoon.

I was hungry for their teriyaki bowl and drove there specifically for this dish. I guess their menu has changed because the cashier wasn’t sure which teriyaki combo I wanted even though it was listed on the menu. My earlier memories had tasty teriyaki chicken and beef with sauce. This time, my chicken and beef was sauceless. The cabbage was overcooked. Several tables were empty and dirty but there was only a couple of people eating there.

When I need my sushi fix, this is the place. Talk about fresh. Service is fairly quick. The restaurant is crammed… Especially during he lunch hours.

You can’t expect much from fast sushi. It’s eatable and the price is fine. The place is clean and there’s plenty of parking.

I am not very picky when it comes to sushi but this place really disappointed me today. The rolls were warm, when they should have been cold. I had a vegetarian roll and the cucumber was warm like it was sitting at room temperature all day. Yes it was dinner time, but that’s unacceptable. My boyfriend is a sushi fanatic, he could barely stomach his rolls. He has been here before and says something is off, and I agree. I did however order the chicken teriyaki bowl which was good. The rice was okay but the chicken was very good. I don’t think we will be back, and its kinda pricy for not so tasty food. Go to pacific beach and get twice and much sushi for half the price!

I work at Floyd’s across the street and have been craving sushi so I figured I’d give this place a try while on break. It isn’t bad if you’re looking for a quick fix. I was greeted when I walked in to a friendly hello. A little over priced but it isn’t that big of a deal. I got a California roll with brown rice. They gave me a little dish for my soy sauce which was very convenient. I also like how they have bottle of spicy mayo and such. I love spicy mayo so added it on my roll which was nice.

One would imagine that making sushi as a career to hit a level of complacency, I have located this not so sweet spot in my sushi chef’s career. The food is fine, it’s just not presented with the same attention to detail. The rolls fall apart, the staff seems disheartened, the entire experience is sagging toward mediocre. I am sad to watch this dissolution, but I cannot return as there are so many other venues with better experiences.

I don’t have sushi boy here in San Diego like the oc, so I like have a «fast food» sushi place, portions and sizes aren’t bad, the Kobe is my favorite, has never made me sick, and there is never a wait. The place is also very clean. :)

Service is quick and friendly the few times I’ve been. I always want to give them another chance and then end up disappointed. Way too much rice in the rolls. I have to take 2 bites to even finish 1 piece of a sushi roll. They also put lettuce in almost all their rolls(filler) which I think is gross and unnecessary, so I always ask for everything without. I prefer Ralphs sushi.

Hot rice on sushi? Wtf. They put chicken in my roll and smothered it in teriyaki sauce so I thought it was eel at first and was unpleasantly surprised when I ate the roll since I do not eat meat other than fish. Never again.

You just don’t serve HOT rice with COLD fish. Especially making any type of rolls! They use lots of rice as a filler. Cashier was nice and food came out quick. I didn’t expect quality fish here I was shocked on how expensive it is. I honestly would have gone just to Ralphs.

Well I wish I could give this one at least a 4 star but I can’t. I’d be lying to myself and my fellow Unilocalers! My version of Pharell’s «Happy»: “I’m so pickkkyy, here’s why”: Service is not up to par at all. They could be more attentive and friendly. There is one lady who is there that is fairly friendly. Cleanliness: Never fails, everytime I go in there is teriyaki sauce and or rice on the table. So we have to ask to get it cleaned. Their trashcan is always full even when it is super slow. Now on to the actual happy part: The Food I usually order their large Chicken Teriyaki Bowl(SPICY) with brown rice. The bowl comes with a good portion of thin chicken that is grilled, moist and tender. Then is drizzled with a delicious spicy teriyaki sauce. It is also served with your choice of white or brown rice. The brown rice is a short grain brown rice that is cooked perfectly not to dry, not to mushy. Along with that is a variety of sauteed vegetables that have been cook to the perfect crispiness. I would recommend giving this place a shot. Hopefully you will have better luck than me.

Sushi? Yes come here if you want to eat old tasting seafood sushi. If on a budget and don’t mind eating mediocre sushi then this is the place for you. I tried out the lava roll bec I saw Unilocal photos and reviews… it was ok but everything else we got was just plain and not good at all. The facility appeared to be a little weathered down too.

It’s very close to my work, so the convenience is nice. And the price is pretty good! The lava roll is huge! And very yummy! Basically I consider it to be a more fast food esque sushi place. With that being said, they give you healthy options, the food is pretty good and the pricing is good! Not expensive at all. I’ll definitely stop by here again.

Gross as hell. My roll was all rice. I got the tempura roll which included: hellllllllllllla rice(which was super dry), cucumber, lettuce(lettuce in sushi?!), and a teenie weenie tiny morsel of odd-tasting shrimp tempura. I knew the ‘express’ implied ‘lower quality’, but uhm hello? where’s the ‘lower price’ part that’s supposed to come with it? I paid $ 7.30 for a bland, ricey, sad, sad, sad roll. The best part about my dining experience occurred on my way out; a young man went out of his way to open the door for me because my hands were full… seriously. That was the best part of my meal.
