Best darn food in the world and it is right next to Capri by the Sea. I got the chili rellenos burrito and it was amazing!!! Hot sauce they gave with it was hot, so be prepared lol

Seriously best Cali burrito in San Diego, the hash browns add a delicious touch. Also love it with mushrooms and veggies added in, haven’t tried tacos but recommend any burrito

Went here with extended family while on vacation at the recommendation of some locals. Was not disappointed. Plenty of seating for 11 of us & a is clean place. Original menu well executed. I had the surf & turf burrito(shrimp & steak). Was large & could’ve easily fed two, but after a long day of walking around the zoo I was hungry took it on myself. All the flavor a worked well together with nothing over powering the other flavored. Had tasty sauce in it but was not swimming in &, for once, burrito did not fall apart. Was an excellent burrito; probably the best I’ve had in awhile. Red sauce was also good, though I prefer a bit more heat, it was tasty and added nicely to the burrito. I look forward to returning.

I love their breakfast burrito. So many options. I try something different every time and I’ve never been disappointed. Such a perfect post-surf/wakeboard morning.

This place is pretty damn good. Everything looked delicious and was reasonably priced. I ordered the carne asada and pollo asado tacos… both were over-flowing with flavor and meat. The place is uniquely decorated with surfboards all over the place. The crowd has a mixture of high-as-fuck patrons, and families grabbing a quick bite. If you’re in the area, its a solid Mexican spot to grab some grub. The burritos looked on point as well. The prices for the portions here are worthy.

You know what the best thing is about this place other than the really tasty food and great service? We could walk here from our beachfront hotel with my late night beer goggles on and pick up something really quick and delicious. Yes no car needed here! This was our lucky Taco place while visiting the PB area. The food is really good and the portions are rather large. Matter of fact it is so lucky that we stumbled across someone’s wallet in the cross walk and it had a couple hundred bucks stuffed away. Burrito Time! We both ordered the traditional California Burrito on the first night and the next day the Surf and Turf Burrito and a custom built California for my wife. The Burritos are huge and the flavors are superior to anything in PHX. Really liked the Surf and Turf Burro and had a tough time trying to finish it. Maybe it was all the beer? Sorry no photos of the food this time. Everyone knows what a burrito looks like from the outside and the insides were just too dang good to have them pose for pictures. So back to the wallet and the karma decision. Easily decided to call SD’s finest and have them drive over to our hotel where they could pick it up at the front desk. Life is too short and there were too many more cool places to eat at before we left without getting any bad mojo. This is now definitely one of our new favorites as well as many of the locals. They’ve got their game face on here. PARTYONDUDE! 4.5STARS

Been going here for over 10 years, Awesome Carne Asada & fries or nachos, Killer California burritos and breakfast burritos. I see many complaints about the fish etc. They are known for their Carne Asada & burritos and are some of the best burritos in Diego. Rule of thumb in Diego, No mexican restaurant has good everything, so word to the wise if your going for fish etc go somewhere that is known for their fish not their Carne Asada & burritos. Most likely the place with good fish probably has crappy burritos & Asada, but Taco Surf Cali Burritos are some of the best I have ever had.

The breakfast burrito gets 6 stars, but not the establishment overall. The look from the outside may leave you skeptical, but please give it a try. You’ll be happy you did. Get the breakfast burrito with sausage and make sure you ask for it chopped. REALLY. Ask for it chopped so you don’t get one long strip of sausage on one side of the burrito and make sure the cashier actually writes it down(sometimes they rush taking your order and I’ve had it messed up more than a few times). Alongside the egg and sausage or bacon, three topping choices are included, but you can add more for an extra $ 1. Cheese, salsa fresca and the crispiest hash-browns out there were my combination of choice. Again, get the salsa chopped and enjoy this award-winning package of a breakfast burrito. SOGOOD! I paid the extra for added guac once, but I swear they forgot it. It was either skimped or completely forgotten. Went back to basics after that experience. Beachy surfer-spot atmosphere with what must be over $ 10,000 worth of surfboards hanging inside on the walls and ceilings. Love the PB feel. Seating outside on the sidewalk is great on a hot day. Order at the counter and listen closely for your number to be called — they don’t bring it to you. The signs outside are true — best breakfast burrito in town. They just need a little more organization and consistency with their food. My girlfriend and I came here allllll too often and if weren’t for our move out of town, we’d continue for weekends to come.

This adorable, hole in the wall, authentic– Mexican restaurant is home to the best breakfast burrito’s in San Diego! My go to is sausage(chopped), salsa, hash brown and cheese. When we lived in San Diego we would go every weekend for our Saturday morning breakfast burrito. The ingredients are always fresh and the hash browns and nice and crispy(definitely recommended for the breakfast burrito). The staff is very friendly and fast. Taco Surf is a must have the next time you are in Pacific Beach!

BLOWNAWAY at the breakfast burrito. Hands down one of the best breakfast burritos I have ever eaten. I had the carne asada with eggs, potatoes, guac, beans, rice, cheese… ginormous, beautiful, and everything perfectly cooked and balanced. Their red sauce was the cherry on top – hint of spice and so fresh. SO good that I think I can drink it with a straw. Also had their chicken enchilada and chicken taquito. Good but not great so I would pass on it and double up on the burrito. Definitely a highlight of my SD trip!

I really like this place, and it is aptly named because not only is it a great place to go after you surf, but the dining room area is STUFFED with decorative surfboards. As a surfer, I like going here and looking at all the boards while my food is cooking(2 – 3 minutes). This place would probably get 5 stars if it wasn’t right around the corner from Oscars and La Perla. The tacos are the typical fried with delicious white sauce. I have been here a dozen times, and I don’t think I’ve ever had anything else. They are yummy, cheap, and really hit the spot. I recommend this place for its good food, cool ambiance, and laid back attitude.

When you first see this place from the outside or even walk in you may question it. Is not the nicest place but trust me just order something! One of the best burritos I ever had(surf and turf burrito). Everything was well seasoned and cooked well. The burrito was huge I had to save some for later. My friends ordered the salmon tacos and shrimp fajitas and they loved the food also. The prices are reasonable. I will come back here again when I’m in the area just for that burrito.

Oh my goodness. The very best grilled mahi/fish tacos! The corn tortillas were exceptionally fresh! Such tasty food in this obscure little place in Pacific Beach! Surf board heaven!!!

Honestly, one of the worst burritos I’ve ever had in my life. I ordered a breakfast burrito, it came with ham, eggs, guacamole, salsa and hash browns. Absolutely disgusting from the very first bite. The burrito was cold, like as if it were stored in a gas station refrigerator. The tortilla wasn’t heated or toasted in anyway and tasted like you were eating raw dough. All the additions that came in the burrito were prepared very poorly because it gave the burrito a very soupy or sauce like base which made it impossible to hold up and eat. I will never ever in my life go back to this place again. You couldn’t pay me to eat here. Do yourself a favor and pass on this shop and try one of the dozens of other great Mexican food establishments that San Diego has to offer that actually take the time to make you quality food.

Funky little taco shop that serves killer authentic Mexican. We were greeted and welcomed right away. The menu was vast and easy to read. We ordered the blackened Mahi Mahi tacos and the chicken tacos. Both were served up quick and in large portions with a huge bottle of salsa. The Mahi tacos were so flavorful! The fish was cooked perfectly and topped with a creama sauce and cabbage along with pico. The shredded chicken tacos were served inside crunchy fried shells topped with tons of cheese. This spot is where it’s at for great Mexican food right near the beach!

This place is kool. It is the quintessential San Diego beach taco shop. Locals, tourist, young, old, everybody loves this place. A surfer and his wife, along with a friend started this place years ago and it has grown into a «must visit» establishment in Pacific Beach. While I still prefer San Francisco Mission Street burritos, this place was voted«Best Burrito in America» by USA Today and Fox News. The menu is diverse: soups, tacos, build you own burrito, salsa, etc. The ambience and dress code of the surfboard lined interior would best be called«anything goes.» My favorite is building a custom burrito, then splitting it with my wife. Apparently people are able to eat whole burritos by themselves but I find this hard to believe since they are seriously massive.

This was the first taco place I tried when visiting San Diego and was excited to try some tacos after reading/hearing good things. But I really wasn’t that impressed by this place. The guacamole was too creamy for me(I prefer thicker, chunky guacamole), plus it could have used a little more lime. We got both the grilled and fried fish tacos, and wasn’t impressed by either of them. There wasn’t enough seasoning and the fried fish lacked the crisp that I like.

A friend who lives in PB recommended this place for a kick ass breakfast burrito. I was able to find parking in the back and went in to order. –After looking over the menu I decided on the surf and turf burrito. Comes with a chipotle sauce, carne asada and shrimp and as the rest of the burritos, you add what you want. This was so good and big I was able to give some friend a taste and was still full. I did go back the next day for a breakfast burrito and it was equally as good. I found my new burrito spot when visiting!

While I was having a mommy day to myself, my husband snuck out and took the kids to Taco Surf without me since he knew I was not a fan since my last visit… after he confessed and swore up and down it is good again… and me not wanting to cook dinner — my arm was twisted and I caved! Soooo glad I did! I ordered what I have loved here in the past — the Cali Burrito. YUP! Spot on! This was a Tuesday… and we were back on Friday with our cousins! I was able to sneak in and out on Tuesday without being spotted by the owner — feeling bad about my previous review. On Friday night, the owner, Cindy, spotted me and REMEMBERED my name — I feel so forgettable and amazed she is that in touch with her customers, neighbors, and Unilocalers! She really does care! But… I am keeping that one star off… because… after talking with Cyndi about something my husband asked about… I think she might kick up the beans a notch… fingers crossed!
