Ordered online through GrubHub last Friday. Chicken Vindaloo was very tasty and seemed authentic but THEYSHORTEDUSONTHECHICKEN.!! Lots of potatoes, very tasty, and part of the Vindaloo dish, but too many and too little chicken. We ordered chicken kebab but received Tandoori Chicken which was dry. Keema kulcha not terrible — was like you get at a grocery store… Raita was excellent Rice was excellent Won’t be trying them again — mainly because they shorted us on the protein. You should try Himalayan Cuisine in El Cahon and Curry and More in San Marcos. they are the best in San Diego

Horrible organization and service! They were supposed to open at 11 and when we got there around 11:05 they were still setting up and cleaning up. They told us to wait 20 minutes. We came back and they proceeded to tell us they are still not ready. Also, they seemed annoyed when I asked if they were open yet. if you don’t open on time, please try and be polite about it.

We found this place as the Hillcrest farmers market was closed today, probably due to rain, and we wanted to have lunch in the area. This restaurant is a sister of Village Indian in Kearny Mesa and therefore has the same core dishes. Naturally the same excellent quality of food and similar service. 5⁄7. Would totally recommend for their amazing lunch buffet. More seats available than at Village Indian.

Don’t even bother. They don’t have a working phone so when I drove over to ask about my $ 70 in delivery food, they seemed surprised to learn about my online order. Then they found it right away. THEN they told me they couldn’t give me a refund. Not even on the delivery fee or tip. It seems they were having a tough might as two other customers were at the counter upset as well. I would recommend that instead you walk across the street to the delicious phở place who have never messed up an order I’ve placed. For five years. The food is always delicious and cheap. Unlike tandoori hut.

I have to say that my visit there was one of the worse dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. The only remotely positive part was the food. The service was absolutely terrible. Like mentioned in a previous post, their attention is clearly focused on their take out and delivery service. At first I thought perhaps it may have been due to language barriers but my wife and I felt it was ultimately just due to a very rude employee that was working the register. We will not be returning.

Delicious chicken tikka masala and veggie pakoras. Naan made fresh to order, both garlic and regular naan were delicious. I didn’t try the goat curry, but veggie korma and others were tasty. Will return.

Mango pudding was good! Chicken Tandoori was half cooked, kofta was missing in malai kofta, chicken tasted like goat… Only to find out it was actually goat.

I was craving Indian food, so I dragged my husband to check out the all you can eat buffet at Tandoori Hut on a Saturday evening. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but we didn’t have any problem finding a table. The place is very casual, not much décor and nothing in terms of ambiance. You can order from the a la carte menu, or tell them that you’re there for the buffet and pay after you’re done with your meal. When we got there, the choices and amount of food at the buffet were slim pickings at best. The buffet had basmati rice, salad, your basic options like tandoori chicken, chicken tikka masala and saag paneer, and mango lassi. Unfortunately, there wasn’t much food to be found on the buffet. The kitchen was overwhelmed with the dinner rush, and they did not prioritize their orders well. The kitchen was too busy filling their online/delivery orders while neglecting the mass of unhappy, hungry customers waiting inside the restaurant. The buffet was supposed to come with naan, and we didn’t receive our naan until we were nearly done with our meal. Many customers, including myself, had to keep asking them to refill the basmati rice among other things on the buffet. There was one gentleman who was the cashier/waiter and another gentleman who was the waiter/bus boy. So, needless to say, there was pretty much no service at all. Not good. At $ 12.99 a person for the dinner buffet, the price is very reasonable. However, the food overall was mediocre to below average. I thought the tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala were fine, but everything else was not particularly good. I would suggest you go elsewhere for your Indian food fix!

$ 12.99 buffet dinner. Its very fulfilling esp with the fresh hot naan. The mango pudding is very sweet but is yummy if you dip the naan in it Points off only cause the rice was nearly empty, they didn’t refill it and it was hard. Over all I would come back

Just ordered from here through another delivery service. We ordered 3 different curries(all decent, not sure about this tikka masala though) but for 3 curries they sent absolutely no rice. I guess they are finally going to send us some rice, over 20 minutes after the food is here… the samosas were good though. I’ll write another review based on our next experience with Tandoori Hut. EDIT: few more bites of the masala, it’s pretty good.

Came in here super hungry after walking around balboa park. Found public parking nearby after searching around a bit. This place serves dinner buffet for 12.99. The place is clean and we liked the buffet overall. The Mango Pudding was the highlight of the buffet. Also, they serve plain dal which is usually not served at other indian buffets. The non-veg entrees did not seem very enticing but most of the veg options like chana masala, baingan bharta were good. We were served garlic naan which was a nice addition. Overall, would recommend.

Very nice little place to eat. Staying on Hotel circle for work and found this place. Dinner buffet was $ 12. Chicken curry was great, the bread was on point and the service was very good. Nice local biz. Will be back.

Tandoori Hut is a yummy little Indian joint in the heart of Hillcrest with consistently good grub. The all you can eat buffet is a deal at $ 8.99 for lunch and the complimentary garlic naan makes this one of my favorite Indian places in San Diego.

Was craving Indian food, this place is not bad. Their Indian(Chai) tea is good. Had the chiken Tika masala. What I love about Tika masala is the sauce(which was great). When you eat food meat that been boiled then placed in a sauce, it’s tastes different then when you meat that’s been cooked in that sauce. The chicken tasted like it was boiled then placed in that sauce not bad but not great. I had the garlic and onion naan. The naan portions are good. The Tika masala also comes w rice.

Okay, people are starting to talk… We were here yesterday and we’re here again tonight. The food is that good and it’s many of our friends’ favorite restaurant. Two dishes were especially good tonight: Mushroom Masala & Garlic chicken.

Came here on Mon night. Food was very stale. Tandoori Chicken was hard. Most dishes were mediocre at best. Kheer was milk with«some» rice. Goat meat was hard to find in the buffet container. Salt and spice was kind of absent in most dishes(kids didn’t mind though). Unsure why this place is so highly rated. Is it because this place offers 10% discount on favorable Unilocal review!

All you can eat for $ 12.99! What a steal! I mean deal! :) It’s not a super big place but there’s enough tables for parties. It’s served with garlic or regular naan and they have about 6 different curries including the popular chicken tikka misala, tandoor chicken, and the green cheese one(sorry, I don’t remember the name). The buffet didn’t hold a LOT of food so a lot of it needed refilling but if that means fresher food, by all means! Service was really good and you can also get your own water at the fountain machine. Don’t forget to check into Unilocal for a 20% discount!

Adoro o gulab jamun deles. Meu preferido!
