I’ve been coming here for haircuts for the past 4 years. In that time I’ve tried some other places but I always come back and I’m always satisfied. Unlike many walk-​in barber shops, The Cliffs is not a factory– they take their time to ensure a high quality cut. Expect to be in the chair for at least 20 minutes and keep in mind that anyone ahead of you in line will be too. Tip: call ahead to see if there’s a long line (or not). Travis’s bottom line: reliable cuts at a reasonable price if you’ve got the time.

you know I really feel bad about giving this place two stars because Jean is such a sweetheart. HOWEVER I payed 18 $ and she missed a huge spot on my fade! Will NOT be coming back

nice barber shop. good cuts. good magazines whilst you wait. nice conversation. support the local businesses in OB. i will return for another cut. they are very attentive to what YOU want. i am very particular when it comes to a haircut, and i felt comfortable ever step of the way. bravo Cliffs Barber Shop!

I got my hair cut by Jeane today. She is usually there Tuesdays and Wednesdays in the afternoon.
I paid $ 16 plus tip ($ 20) for the haircut today. There was only one guy ahead of me. My hair was starting to get raggity and Jeane cleaned it up good!
The key to this place is that it is low key. The other key is the low cost. The third key is that Jeane is very good at accomodating whatever you like as far as length and style.
I would highly, highly, highly reccommend this place especially when Jeane is there, although all the barbers are great.

Having lived in SD for 10 yrs now, I can tell you that Jean’s Cliffs Barber Shop is a consistent outstanding experience. The haircuts are great (Darin on Wed-​Fri even does as excellent job), the reading materials are a fine mix but more importantly, as the other reviewers have pointed out, the conversation is outstanding.
Whether its sports, entertainment or politics, it’s always an engaging and lively discussion. In addition, you can find kids from 3 yrs old on up to some colorful seniors.
To me, the Cliffs is a real OB classic that I would highly recommend to anyone. Just keep in mind that you need to be OK with a more traditional haircut experience than a designer salon.

There is only one chair at the Cliffs Barber Shop, and it is a walk-​in only shop.
Although I was apprehensive seeing the «Women rule!» pictures on her mirror, the lady that cut my hair was pleasant and efficient.
