NEVERNEVERNEVER in my right mind would I ever THINK to feel the inclination to rate a real estate corporation and land«developer» as deserving of a 5STAR Unilocal, but today I have had a change of heart. Though probably as environmentally bereft of a conscious as any other BIGBADCORPORATION, today I actually felt sorry for the Corky McMillin group. While sitting patiently in Courtroom 75 on the 6th floor of the Hall of Justice, I realized how the calmly determined counsel for McMillin-an attorney by the name of John Simpson-tried very hard to extract the Big Bucks Builder from a class action determination against it. The Rock Church-which according to plaintiff Bonnie Mann-has made life miserable and decimated their Liberty Station home values due to horrendous traffic every Sunday from 5 Mega Church services throughout the day, was the subject of much courtroom conjecture. Thus the chief cause of what Mann said was intentional fraud and legal liability on the part of McMillin for not issuing prospective home-owners written notice of the Church’s potential impact upon the development. At this point I will need to offer a disclaimer, because Unilocal HQ is always looking to pull my first-to-reviews in order to lessen it’s own shame for not awarding me Elite status due to an inept and discrimatory community manager. I HAVEHADEXPERIENCE with the CORKYMCMILLINCOMPANY. My ex-husband and I toured one of their developments in the South Bay when we were looking to buy a home in the 90’s. I am a customer of Liberty Station retail stores, most especially-Trader Joe’s and that double-jointed Von’s. I am also a long-time member of The Rock Church and am very proud of that fact. I have participated in 2 Sleepless in San Diego events and SLEPTOUTON McMILLIN’s grassy area twice now. I personally know and am friendly with the Cohn family-owners of the Corvette Diner-located at Liberty Station. I hope that will suffice to keep Unilocal HQ nitwits from pulling this Unilocal for now. I was a fox among the hens this morning as I hung out with the Mann pack in the hallways before the hearing and heard much tittering among the gathered group. I suspect a few astute people may have recognized me from my association with the Church or my Reader writing status. The McMillin Company will have it’s legal work cut out for it because these home-owners are out for blood. No, excuse me, MAKETHATMONEY! I applaud this real estate company for putting up a good fight and if the Rock Church made things difficult for anybody down that way, I offer my own humble apology for any traffic pressure my son and I might have possibly contributed to. Let’s pray that a just verdict is rendered in this case and in the meantime – go McMillin’s!
