Great service at this place. Loved it!

Great addition to the neighborhood! Curiousity got me and I finally stopped in after driving by several times. Found some great Christmas gifts and had them beautifully wrapped! The owners were a pleasure to talk to. I recommend this place for those last minute holiday items and if you are looking to avoid the malls! Shop local!

I stopped into The General Store out of sheer curiousity, and I’m so glad I did! This place has great basics; I ended up purchasing a couple t-​shirts (fashion basics, not screen tees), and a pair of slippers. They store also has a large selection of denim, mainly Levi’s, that caught my eye as well as some nice winter coats I wish I had a reason to buy. April was there that day and she was very friendly and helpful! The store was having a 30% black friday weekend special the day I stopped in and April said that will continue on throughout December. I will definitely keep coming back to The General Store.

This review is TBH long over due. I went here a couple days with one of my friends, and this is the cutest store that I’ve ever been to. They carry a lot of necessities for work, especially if you have to work in scrubs and they’re currently doing a promotion where if you buy a pair of scrubs they’ll be donating a pair to a someone in need. They don’t only care medical wear, but also chef wear, and street wear. I bought a pair of house slippers there.
Since this is a small business a lot of the items are pricey, but extremely cute.
The owner (?) was the person who helped me and she was super nice and helpful. She informed us of the sale that was going on, she also talked to us about all the other promotional stuff that she has going on. She also informed us when she’d be restocking on stocking stuffers, so I’ll definitely be back before the holiday season ends!
The only thing that I did not like about this store, is that parking is really hard to find, there is a small parking lot in front of the store, but it was really hard to leave because you’re backing into traffic.

Stopped by this new North Park location to see what it was about. It’s a modern take on a general store with an urban twist. The Manager on site, April, explained to me that this was a third generation business and that it all started with work wear. Inside I found a number of uniforms, and work clothes. They also have an extensive selection of eye glasses as well as men’s shaving products. I picked up a grey cardigan that seemed like it would be perfect for layering in cooler weather. It has a modern cut with a thinner fabric, perfect for socal.
I would like to see more goods made in america here, or at least responsible manufactured abroad. I look forward to seeing how the collection grows and evolves at this new store focuses in of defining themselves.

Great spot to get some interesting basic necessities. I discovered sunglasses, jeans, chef’s gear, and more sundries I didn’t know I needed until I realized I NEEDED them (pepper spray pen!) The gen-​sto has an industrial vibe with the hand-​carved, painted, inlaid, and nail-​gunned environment you want from a work-​ready shop (more cow bell tho.) Coupled with the outstanding and personal customer service, it kind of reminds me of an old timey general store. I tried on every last pair of shades in the store but with the last pair I finally found my sunever friend.

Stopped into The General Store a couple weeks ago after being curious as to what was going into this place after a huge remodel. Was very impressed with the great curated selection of mens wear and accessories, and also enjoyed a nice chat with the owner April who was super pleasant and excited to be open in North Park. Great to see this place driving some new commercial development on the west end of the NP neighborhood. It’s not easy to find Persol sunglasses (especially at a decent price), so I bought a unique color that I couldn’t pass up. Definitely recommend this spot and a welcome addition to the area.

A hidden gem with wonderful treasures inside! That’s what I kept thinking as I walked through the store. I purchased a pair of brown polarized leather ray-​bans for myself and a Scotch and Soda dress shirt for my hubby. April was super helpful without being pushy. I loved the way the store is set up and decorated throughout. I have my eye on the gorgeous shaving kit as a b-​day gift. Welcome to North Park!

Stopped by this new store to check out their uniforms and was more than pleasantly surprised! They have a great selection of uniforms with a stylish twist! I walked out with uniforms for work that I’m actually excited to wear! I also picked up a pair of Levi’s (I usually don’t wear Levi’s but I couldn’t resist the new cuts!). I was on a time crunch when I went in but will returning to peruse their sunglasses.
This is a great addition to North Park, it’s nice to not have to drive to a big box store to find chic clothes!
Ask for April, she was very helpful and enthusiastic.

A family owned business providing quality goods for a reasonable price. April was amazing! She described the historical context of the store and their support for local community businesses. She showed my girlfriend and I the store without pressuring us to purchase anything and provided a tour of the store. I will be coming back in the near future to shop at this location.
