Hands down best place in SD I’ve been to yet. Awesome flavors and super chillin vibes. Sunny is super friendly and likes to sit in corners and eat his instant ramen while people walk in. He’s a noodle master. I’ll def be coming here more often :)

This is the best place to Hookah. The staff is great and it is very clean. Ike the owner is great. They take pride on good service and the prices are good too.

When you first walk in it is a bit awkward set up. The seats aren’t that comfortable and the pictures look better than the actual place. Workers did a Great job at packing the bowl just took a while before we got our hookah. Great for younger crowd.

What an awesome establishment. Very comfortable atmosphere, like you are in your own living room. The staff is incredibly customer service oriented. I’ve been here at least 20 times and always treated like a guest in their home.
I had the opportunity to visit when the owners worked here every day, now they have found staff who runs the shop as if it is their own.
Never disappointed, great music, games, bring your own food or order in. Open late and always a good crowd. They seem to draw in only great people.
I would highly recommend this place for a visit by yourself or with a large party or just as a nice first date location where you can have an intimate conversation.
No complaints, great hookah accessories, all around one of my favorite hangouts in pacific beach.

Always a great place to go after a late night of partying if you’re still wide awake and want to relax. Next-​level customer service!

My camaraderie hombres and I were in search of a hookah lounge, so we could show off our O skills and shit. I was pretty drunk, but I think the gang-​a-​lang got there around 11pm. The place was tucked between two larger stores, so you have to kinda look for it. Tbh I think we went to this one by mistake because we couldn’t find the one we were looking for, but whatever. The inside was dark and smokey, and it’s pretty small and narrow. Others would describe it as cozy. Prices were pretty decent and the owners were pretty chill. One guy kept showing off his tong skills flipping coals. By the way, the hookah lasts really long — around an hour and a half with 4 – 5 people in rotation. It’s worth the money if you’re an avid hookah fan. I’m not an avid hookah fan, but I enjoy it once in a while.
This street has a lot of bars nearby and some dumb ass motherfucker ran into the window and passed out. Some people were trying to help him, but I was too busy in the crowd of onlookers repeatedly exclaiming how crazy that was. It wasn’t that crazy. Then we went back and finished our hookah. I’d probably come here again if I was down for hookah and in the area.

Best hookah lounge in all of San Diego. They have nakhla sheesha. Not many places if any at all carry nakhla. Their English breakfast mix is the best hookah flavor I’ve ever had. Ownership is top notch, they know how to treat their customers. Try hola Che a couple of doors down after. The food is really good.

Have been going here for about a year, and never experienced such awesomeness from hookah lounge. As a lounge reviewer and a hookah enthusiast, it is difficult to find a hookah lounge that perfectly fits, especially in San Diego. Simply because there are so many lounges and so many of them serve same brand of shisha, such as Starbuzz. Hookah Lab is different from any other lounge for four simple reasons:
1. Shisha is prepped and made by an excellent Hookah Masters. Mixologists, or hookah masters, know their crafts in shisha and hookah set up. So whether you are a veteran or a novice smoker, Hookah Lab’s hookah masters will make the flavor you want.
2. Awesome service. Your hookah will never lose any clouds because staffs will provide you a coal change when they sense your need for more coals, before you know it needs any change. Same goes for reset of harsh smoke inside the vase.
3. Atmosphere makes this lounge feel like your home. Hookah lounges are often loud club like places, but Hookah Lab does not give off this vibe. In fact music volume in this place is subtle enough that you can actually communicate with people.
4. Unique shisha flavors and drink selection. Tired of going to lounges that have similar drink and shisha menu? Hookah Lab got this covered. Hookah Lab carries all sorts of teas and uses natural flavored tobacco, your pallet will feel sensational.
So when you are in PB area for a hookah, look no further. Come to Hookah Lab, grab a hookah, and enjoy puffing some clouds.

So I came to this hookah bar a few weeks ago when I was vacationing in PB. Since then the server which had influence my previous review reached out to me, messaging me on Unilocal.
He wrote a honest message, explaining what his current situation was and how he had no intentions of trying to excuse his actions. It was a pleasant surprise. Not only did he express his desire to change my opinion, but he left his phone number and said my next hookah is on him.
It is to be noted he did this without influence from his manager. This whole thing made me really want to give this place another shot. I’m updating my review solely based on his apology and kindness he showed me. I’ll be coming back to The Hookah Lab in PB now.

ive been smoking hookah heavily for the past 3 years from the east coast (Boston) to hear and San Diego. Ive always believed the best bowl you’ll smoke is the bowl you pack for yourself with the company of your good friends or new ones. I was able to find all of that the first time i came to this lounge. If you’re looking for quality hookah in SD, this is your spot. Everything is executed beautifully from the hand mixed flavors (using primarily nakhla, Al Fakher, Fumari), The delicate packing methods and finally the timed coal changed to make sure your bowl is always cooking at the right heat.
If quality is’nt what you’re looking for in a lounge, the vibe created by the regulars and family like staff is enough to win you over. Good music, furniture isnt too overwhelming, lighting is perfect and flexible upon request. Plus there’s an elephant in one of the bathrooms.
Highly recommended, 5 stars for quality, service, vibe, and the really cool asian guys there.

As a regular here for the past 2 ½ years, I’ve seen the lounge get better and better as time has progressed. The two things that have not changed are the quality of the hookah and the stellar service– its always smooth here and lasts for literally hours. Admittedly, its more expensive than other places, but I am not one to ignore quality.
The creative mixes that Sonny, Carlos, Brock and Tony put together ensure that you find the perfect flavor to suit your tastes.
The interior is not the absolute best (the owners have improved it a lot since i started coming here and continue to do so), but the vibe of the place and the people who come here more than make up for it. Over the past 2 years, I have made a lot of memories and friendships, which keeps me coming back.

Great flavors there are some flavor mixes are so unique. They use brass KM hookahs and a mix of heads. Great tea and movie night Sunday is chill. Best lounge in PB

Reviews don’t lie. There is no way you will be able to bribe 140 reviews for average of ⁵⁄₅ stars. This place is best hookah lounge not only in San Diego but in states of California and Nevada. I’ve been to over 20 different hookah lounges in LA County, and about 20 different hookah lounges outside of LA.
These guys are hookah experts and professionals. As a hookah enthusiast, I have been disappointed with many lounges I’ve been to as I was able to see so many pros and cons. But this place had no cons that I can possibly think of.
Let’s start off with hookah quality and what they use. Their default regular hookah is KM hookah. Nothing beats handwelded Khalil Mamoon. Caravans, Artak, and other Chinese-​made hookahs don’t come close to KM.
But putting that aside because for a good hookah lounge, KM is mandatory, their artistry and their packing skills of fruit bowls is the best in California and Nevada. I wish I have been to hookah lounges outside of California and Nevada for me to give comparison to say best in the world but I’ve only been to hookah lounges in California and Nevada. They are really updated with hookah industry and been taught by top hookah packers in the world, such as Sergei, Hookah Boss, etc.
Sonny packed a grapefruit bowl and it is the best fruit bowl now that I have tried from all the lounges. While I just ordered a basic fruit bowl, the artistry of their fruit bowls that they can make is beyond our imaginations. These guys are professionals that they even compete in hookah packing contests.
I am a very picky person with hookah and I hate the fact that half of the lounges in San Diego use quick lights. These guys use high quality Titanium coconut coals or Coco Jamra Coconut coals. I believe they used Titanium Coconut coals for ours. Either one are the top best quality coals. If you look at the way they poke holes into their bowls, you can tell that they took their time and poked them precisely, even better than how I pack my bowls. And I can confidently challenge every lounges in LA that I can pack better hookah than all of them. But in this lounge, I am nowhere close to their level because I learned packing fruit bowls from videos of their master’s packing tutorials while they actually learned it directly from them.
Their customer service is very awesome. Their knowledge in hookah industry, products, and people was beyond me. Even for hookah enthusiasts like myself, I highly approve this place to anyone. Brock and Sonny were very chill.
Their prices are awesome and unbeatable. But rather than prices, I care more of the quality, which they have.
Best quality hookah, awesome affordable prices, knowledgeable hookah experts, good customer service, what more can you ask for?

This place is amazing! Reviews dont lie. Customer service and atmosphere is awesome. Hookah flavors are super unique and Vic the guitar player was playing the jaaaaams.

Went here after a great dinner at The Smoking Goat. I had no idea there was a hookah bar in PB. Tells you the last time I was in PB. Very spacious, the employees are very attentive and make great recommendations. We had two hookahs, first was Earl Grey. What can I say, it tastes like the tea. The other was a fruit mixture that included lychee, amazing flavor. I love that the employees start it for you and change the coals periodically. No hurry, they don’t try to push you out

Since 99% of these reviews are by people with 2 or less total reviews I think I ought to give a realistic rating.
The venue itself felt like a ghetto art studio. The first room was lit by an eerie green light that felt a bit tacky and unnecessarily moody. There was room enough to seat 4 groups of people. The next room felt more welcoming without the hued glow however the furniture looked worn and ugly and majority of the space was claimed. We chose the less crowded area and took our seats in the green room. We ordered a peach lychee hookah but they were out of it so we ordered the watermelon instead. 20 minutes later we finally had our hookah.
I’ve only smoked hookah a couple of times but I thought this place had the smoothest and overall best tobacco and hookah I’ve ever had. The workers were initially very slow and inattentive but after some general conversation they warmed up and were quite friendly.
Overall we had a decent time. I was just very uneasy about the dirty looking furniture and horrific lighting. If they invested in some better looking tables/​chairs and lighting my rating would definitely be higher.
