Nice place to go for relaxingovie food deliveeed to you from popcorn, sodas, salads, entrees. If you are vacationing in San Diego you really need to check out Point Loma.

I have to update my review on this establishment. My original review was 5 star, then I updated to a 2 star, but now I must update to a 1 star since that is the lowest I can rate. This neighborhood bar is full of gossip, drama and not a lot of fun anymore. At one time, this was really the only place I would go to, but as the years have gone by, the regulars became more and more controlling and rude. The regulars do not like straight people or women to be in the bar and will do all they can to run them off.

I must say that I love my gay bars. The older and diver, the better… The Loft definitely delivered. Local, but inviting with strong and cheap drinks. Awesome! We ordered 3 vodka tonics all for $ 11.25! Whaaaaaaa!!! For those that like to watch sports and discuss politics, there were two TVs, one with baseball on and one with CNN. There’s also a pool table and jukebox if that’s more your speed. As for me, I love my well drinks and cocktails. The
bartender was suuuuper friendly and attentive despite having a full bar as well. This will definitely become our new spot! Good times.

This is definitely my favorite gay bar. It’s super chill, the drinks are decently priced and nice pours. They treat me like family every time I come in. I bring all my friends from out of town here– gay or straight– and they’re never made to feel any different. Everyone has a great attitude and always willing to serve you the best.

Thank you to the Loft for such a great Bday weekend. I spent it with them. The team very customer service friendly. Waiting for us to come celebrate. Treated me very nice and made my friends very welcoming. I’ve been going to this bar for years. This will be the best moments I’ve had there. Thank you Kane and staff for putting up with us. Loft has my heart.

I can not say enough about Jeffery, Jt, and Juan. These men gave us the best service you could imagine. Drinks strong and always attentive from the guys. With their incredible energy and love for their job this is a perfect girls night out bar. They welcome my friend and I with open arms and incredible tasting drinks. You need a good drink with every greater servers stop in and say Stacy sent you! Love you guy !!! My new Home away from Home.

I have to update my review, it has been a few years. In my last review, I gave it 5 stars and stated when I would walk in, I was greeted by numerous people who would say hello, give me a hug and have a conversation. I am not sure what happened to those fun, loving people, but they sure don’t hang out at this place anymore. There are nights that can be fun, but not like it once was. I think if they raised their prices by $ 1 a drink, they would see a totally different clientele — clientele that will come in and spend money.

First time here last night in about 10 years. Just as small as I remember, but I went fairly late on a weeknight, so the place was not so busy you couldn’t get a seat and a drink right away. The bartender on duty (sorry, I forgot his name) immediately introduced himself and had a great, positive energy, and NONE of the attitude you usually get at gay bars. He made me feel welcome. He was super nice, and kept checking on me to make sure me and my drink were okay. We were! I didn’t order anything fancy, but the final tab for two cocktails was what you might pay for one cocktail somewhere else. A very pleasant surprise indeed! One of the «regulars» also struck up a conversation with me and again, made me feel like part of the team (thanks Diego from San Diego) I will definitely be going back to The Loft to get good, friendly service alongside some cheap drinks!

Hands down one of the best bars I’ve been too in any city. Friendly staff that makes you good drinks. Very good vibe. I come here with my fiancé every time were in SD. She loves their Bloody Marys, I have not had a bad drink here. If you want a good drink, chill vibe, and a good bartender, come here.

Went here while we waited for a table at hash house a go go. We were having so much fun we gave up our table at hash house a go go — which apparently nobody does! The drinks were cheap, strong, and delicious! Get a bloody mary by kip! We didn’t realize it was a gay bar until we had been there for a drink or two, but we were very welcome and enjoyed the crowd of regulars very much! We’ll be back the next time we’re in SD for sure!

Gorgeous gay bar in Hillcrest. Really nice staff and friendly atmosphere. Gerald, the barman,.is an absolute honey. The first time I came here there were barely any people but this time it was packed and loads of fun! There are loads of other good bars in this area too.

If your looking for a local bar to hangout at around Hillcrest The Loft is the place to go. The Loft is a cute older bar with a lot of character. Bartenders here are always nice and generous with drinks.
The Bloody Mary’s here are on point. They are not the Bloody Mary’s with a four course dinner inside the drink like most places now a days. The classic Bloody Mary is what they have at The Loft and they are delicious !
The Loft is a little dive bar that always seems to have at least one good size group inside, especially Sundays.
So if your looking for a local dive bar with good drinks, low prices and about two blocks away from the heart of Hillcrest, The Loft is the place to go.

The Loft is a great bar to hang out on a morning and drink $ 4 Mimosas or Bloody Mary’s. Great atmosphere and moreover great people. Learned a lot from locals in the area. Definitely am coming back during Mardi Gras time to indulge in some authentic New Orleans style jambalaya. 5 stars overall.

Sometimes it is challenging to find a place to grab a drink in the hood that is not pretentious and trying too hard. This place keeps its down to earth and that is why it gets 5 solid stars.

My husband and I wondered in here, after being told, by Hash House (restaurant) a few doors down, that our wait time, to be seated, was 2 hours! It was Labor Day Weekend, so I understand.
We found two empty seats at the end of the bar! The bartender was the sweetest man, super friendly, and took our drink orders, right away!
We ordered 2 Bloody Mary’s, spicy! We saw him use this chili pepper, infused vodka. When he brought them over, my husband and I took a sip, and it knocked our socks off! (in a good way). The drinks were made to perfection. Best Bloody Mary’s we’ve ever had!
Can’t wait to go back, when we are in San Diego, again!
