Bad experience with one of the male bartenders making an inappropriate comment, closed my tab with him to go to a different bartender, old bartender whispered to my new bartender then my new one said I was cut off. I thought that was extremely unprofessional, will not recommend this place anymore. It used to be one of my favorite spots.

Great hangout. Friendly crowd. One of the oldest gay bars I’ve been too(most bars come and go like fashion). Check it out!

Was here twice today… staff is great but please don’t call yourself a Latino Gay Bar if you don’t even attempt to pay any Latin music. Fuego is the night they call on Saturday but not one song. All late 80s crap. Please work on your marketing thanks!

****Warning **** I had my purse stolen right from the table I was at. The security was dismissive and unhelpful. They said they would keep an eye out, wtf. It wasn’t misplaced, it was taken. As it turned out, it’s a common occurrence at this establishment, and the staff is well aware of it. Another staff said«I usually find the empty purses in the trash». So, this is the usual. A business that does nothing to stop criminal activity at it’s establishment, is basically condoning that activity. Outside complaining, I meet other people who have had similar things happen. A guy said he had his pocket picked, and another woman had her purse stolen at pride. Then to top the evening off; outside, while getting my info, a security guy, fell off a ladder and barreled across the sidewalk, shoving my friend to the ground, scraping her knee and ripping her pants. Human wrecking ball with no apology.

I had so much fun! I went on a Saturday night for Latin night there’s a $ 7 cover charge. Friendly staff and people, drinks are a reasonable price. Good place to go dance!

Nostalgic landmark that I had to visit. From the overpriced cover to rude service staff, it was an overall disappointing experience. Will not go back.

First time here and hip hop Fridays are great. We had a great time and there were lots of people having a great time. Drinks were well made and the cover wasn’t that bad(and I hate covers).

We visited during PRIDE and there was no line which is how we ended up there. I really enjoy the bartenders here they were very nice and fast. I loved Kevi she was super friendly! Drinks are strong and fair priced. Dance floor is in the back so it can feel like you’re far away. Good location

This place has great drink prices and is in a great location. That said, we had an unfortunate experience last night. I had just taken the journey to San Diego via Amtrak and met my friend at this bar. I ordered a drink and opened a tab. Three hours of being in shaking piñata of a train car, I needed a cigarette. I made a quick run across the street to buy smokes. In the no more than five minutes I was gone, a girl sitting at our table had a disagreement with the bartender regarding her tab. I suppose my three minute presence at the establishment deemed me guilty by association with this stranger. When I walked back in, he was out from behind the bar, receipt printed and threw my card back at me telling me it was time to close out. Mind you, this was not closing time. I didn’t have to go home and I could have stayed here. Never have I been forced out of a bar for zero reason. Plenty of justifiable times, but not here and not last night. Two stars since he didn’t judge my drink order of basic, sad and sex and the city wannabe vodka cranberry with a twist of lime. Must go-must tend to my broken and on the mend heart(injured via brass rail steak through the heart). I definitely spent more time writing this review than I did at the bar. Sorry I’m not sorry.

First time here on Thursday and I had a really great time. I went to support a new friend who was performing that night. Bartenders were really friendly and drinks weren’t too expensive either. It wasn’t a huge crowd, but the as soon as the Drag started the place really livened up, as I had hoped. Cant wait to go again for another show or just to dance.

We come here every Monday for 80s night and usually have a great time. But tonight our friend got up on the stage and danced and was immediately kicked out of the club. We come here and see the most sloppiest, drunkest people that hey leave alone. But tonight one female security worker thought it was enough to kick us out. Even when every other security guard was saying let them stay she took it upon herself to kick us out even though others were dancing on stage all night. My friend that was kicked out was African American and singled out amount all the others dancing on stage and kicked out. Normally have a great time here but after that I can’t go back and sown any kind of money on that place.

An otherwise good bar(and club) ruined by disastrous front of house management. I’m afraid that I won’t be back after that experience.

Clean, spacious, cool. BUT, there is a $ 7 cover, the bouncer wouldn’t let two of my friends, they came in, after we all bought drinks, we were kicked out. I question how gay«friendly» this establishment really is. As the bouncer and security guards weren’t very accepting. It was a Friday night — hiphop/urban, presumably straight crowd.

Maniac Monday was off the chain this Monday as it usually is but that’s really the only time I have gone and have had fun. Most times it’s pretty dead and on the weekends and they do charge a cover, I would rather walk to Flicks and dance there with no cover and stiff pours. #sbi

I’ve been going to the Brass rail for years and have noticed a decrease in service, accountability, and overall customer service. Last year I reserved the VIP area and two bottles for my birthday and when I got there I was told they knew nothing of it and scrambled to put something together. While that was an inconvenience, it was nothing like I encountered last night. This took place during their Saturday night event«Sabado en Fuego.» We left the club because of a racist comment directed toward my white girlfriend. While waiting on the street corner, a security guard(he would not provide me his name) said someone was trying to get our attention. We told the security guard that we didn’t know the person trying to get our attention. He insisted we go talk to him. We said no and the person in the smoking section(who was trying to get our attention) said«oh it’s because you’re white and don’t have manners.» I told the security guard about this and he shrugged and stated«take it up with them.» I went to the individual, asked why he brought race into this and the security guard who encouraged us to talk to him in the first place said I reached over the rail to throw his drink and told me to leave. This did not occur and I looked at him in disbelief and asked to speak to his manager. As I was walking to the man who was pointed out to be the manager, I turned around and saw the security guard fist bump the individual trying to gain our attention in the first place. The manager of the night, Dustin(would not give me his last name as he stated«it’s none of your business») asked me what did I expect of him and would just continue to talk over me as I was trying to explain the situation. The security guard walked over and said he never talked to us, nor did he talk to or have any interaction with anyone in the smoking section and that I walked up and just threw a drink. I was still baffled by this lie he was saying and I told Dustin I didn’t expect anything, but I wanted him to be aware of his staff and what had happened. All in all, no matter the night of the club, race should not be brought up and racial slurs should not be tolerated nor encouraged. This experience was horrible for my girlfriend and I and we do not plan on going back to this establishment.

This place is pretty poppin’ despite it’s reputation. The mix of DJ’s is fun, the dance floor is awkward. And the cover is too much($ 10).

Walked by this place many times and finally towards the end of Cityfest this year we decided to actually check it out. Granted we were coming down from a pretty strong day drunk, so this review may need to be updated at some point. Friends I were with were gay, lesbian, and straight, so we got all opinions here. Nobody was impressed. It was basic. Nothing special. No cool décor. DJ in the corner was playing decent music but there was no one on the dance floor(except us of course. And one guy swinging around a rainbow hula hoop, lol). With many more bars in this area there was nothing to make me return to the brass rail. Maybe I’ll stumble in here again someday but don’t hold your breath!
