Went here for the first time last week and loved it. Everything about the fondu experience was phenomenal. Joseph was our server and he did a great job-so friendly, professional, knowledgable about the menu, warm and welcoming. I ordered the land and sea with the coquevin(probably misspelled) cooking style… delicious. Got the smores dessert, also amazing. Don’t remember the name of everything else we ordered, but all was fantastic. Go here, you will really enjoy it.

So so so impressed. Of course I had nothing but high expectations considering what I’ve heard about this place for years. Went in on a date night and got to sit on «lovers lane» I think they call it. It was dimly lit, kind of romantic and relaxing. It was a Saturday night, the wait was not long at all and our server was fantastic! I forget her name but she was a lot of fun and very helpful with making choices as suggestions. Not only was it a fun experience to cook your own food but it was DELICIOUS!!! We ordered the chocolate fondant after our appetizers and superb meal and it was sooooo yummy. I crave it all the time. Definitely pricey, but a lot of fun for a once-in-a-while date night.

This is my favorite melting pot, hands down! My boyfriend and I went here on our first date almost 3 years ago. We were blessed to have the most amazing waiter ever: TONY!!! Tony not only knows his stuff, but he is kind, funny, and truly wants to make each experience magical. We go back to the melting for two reasons: 1) TONY and 2) the amazing food. I recommend making a reservation on the weekend because it’s a popular place. You can’t go wrong with any of the food at the melting pot, but i recommend getting the 4 course experience, it’s the best bang for your buck. The atmosphere is great: romantic, good for groups of friends, anything!

We came here for our 25th wedding anniversary and we weren’t disappointed. Dinner stretched out over 2.5 hours and our server, Tony, was outstanding.

This a great restaurant and great place to meet with your friends and family. The offer is a basically a four course set menu of cheese fondue, salad, broth fondue and chocolate fondue. They have a great wine package to accompany the food as well that I really recommend. The fondues are a mix traditional and innovative. This works well although this setup is very Americanized and nothing like you would have in Europe. I’ve been to fondues many times in Europe and there is a distinct difference with the cheese fondue and the bread. The cheese misses a little edge and the bread is too«fresh». Otherwise a good place. Recommended.

Restaurant Week review Unlike most SDRW deals recently, the Melting Pot provided a great meal for the price. $ 30 gets you a cheese appetizer, salad, and entrée. You will have to choose the same cheese appetizer as your party. Our waitress and manager made sure to let us know that extra bread and vegetables for the cheese fondue and also the entrée Coq Au Vin were available at any time. :)

Came here for the first time tonight with my friend for the Restaurant Week dinner deal for $ 30 that comes with 3 courses: cheese, salad, and protein. Helpful Tips: — Prepare to smell like steamed cheese afterwards. The steam from the fondue set is unpredictable but isn’t enough to make you sweaty. Just wear something light to avoid getting too warm — You can make a melty grilled cheese sandwich by stacking 2 of the pieces of bread on each other after dipping — You can also skewer multiple meats on a stick and leave them in the cooking broth for 8 – 10 minutes minutes to cook the entire serving of meat. I wanted to cook all of my chicken first because I’m afraid of salmonella, so I skewered all the pieces and cooked it for 8 minutes! Also this way, you’re not sitting there waiting for food to cook for a majority of your time. — You can buy 1 serving of chocolate fondue to split between 2 people if you want dessert but are too full. Utilize the spoon that is provided with the chocolate fondue and do not let that chocolatey goodness go to waste! Customer Service: Our servers name was Oriana and I forgot the name of the manager that came by to our table but I was really impressed with the service provided. I was going to accept that most restaurants will not change the options available on a Restaurant Week menu and was planning on accepting that I would be paying for a salad that I can’t eat. I told the server that I wasn’t able to eat raw vegetables and her and the manager said that they could substitute it with steamed vegetables with the caesar salad topping. Having this food intolerance has limited my scope of food options because I used to love salad but the fact that this restaurant accommodated me for it really left a great first impression. Will be coming back with my boyfriend, hopefully sometime in the near future! Keep it up melting pot!

Overpriced, slightly overrated. Went for dessert fondue. We had too much chocolate and asked if we could have a few more pieces of pound cake. The server was like«we charge for extra items.» At that point, we didn’t really care but was turn off by the penny pinching over the customer service. The manager on duty was super obnoxious. There was a huge table next to ours, apparently his friends and he kept talking loudly and then saying«if you have a complaint make sure you tell the manager… oh wait.» SOOOOO obnoxious. Its a cool experience… probably would never go back.

The Melting Pot is as much an experience as it is good food. It’s a great place to celebrate special events and special people in your life. Personally, the cheese fondue and chocolate fondue are enough to stuff me and a friend, but taking on the 4 course meal is feasible with a larger group. The portions are not huge but the experience is super nice. You get to dip some foods in cheese or cook your own meats in broth mixture. The parking is a bit confusing because you have to park in the Hyatt parking lot but they do validate parking. However, I do not have a sense of directions and I once got lost: P Overall, I do love this place :)

Came here with a party of 10 for a birthday dinner and our server, Nick, was amazing and full of energy from start to finish. I actually wrote a store review via my receipt as well. He was that good! Thank you, Nick! Everyone in our lovely bunch were first-timers and he gave us the low down in the beginning. It’s all a really fun experience with the right people. It happened to be a Thursday night which is apparently is… ladies night… Woot Woot! Some of our group took advantage of that which allowed you to order a 3-course w/a salad entrée: cheese fondue, salad of choice, and dessert fondue. $ 20& happy hour cocktail prices. Not too shabby, eh? Many of us, including myself, however opted for the Fondu By You($ 42.95) which was 4 courses: cheese fondue, salad, a plate of 3 meats of your choice as the entrée(w/veggies), and dessert. Way more than enough! You can also order meats only for just under $ 30. But, oh man, don’t let those little meats on those little platters fool you, we were stuffed by the time course 3 arrived! If your party is large, it might be best that each person order 1 meat x 3, and just share amongst the group. We wished we thought of this lol. Salmon choice for meat is excellent and cooks fast hehe. The popular teriyaki beef was good too. The filet mignon just sounds good, but pass. Spinach artichoke cheese fondue is good. Mojo broth for the meats is bomb. Smores fondue for dessert still makes me smile. Yasssss. Depending on how many entrees you order, this could be a pretty long night. We were there like 4 hours. Yikes! Plan accordingly. Great overall experience, though… just, fun and makes a great choice for a special occasion(i.e. birthday, graduation, anniversary). I look forward to going back. Enjoy!

Well, I love the melting pot, but this last visit for lady’s night was not as great as usual. We were seated at our reservation time and received all of our courses in a timely fashion, but there were some details that were not quite up to the Melting Pot standard that I am used to. I have been more times than I can count for lady’s night and the servers have always been upbeat, perky and make the visit very fun. This time our server, Martine, was very dull. We have had him once in the past and he was great, so maybe it was just an off day for him, but it really put a damper on the experience. The biggest disappointment though, was the cookies n’ cream chocolate fondue. We have ordered that particular flavor a handful of times and it has always come with dark chocolate. The other’s in my group agreed on that point as well, so I know I am not remembering it wrong. This time, it came with white chocolate, which unfortunately, most of us are not fond of. It was fine, but not good. There was a lot left in the pot when we left, which is not a common occurrence for us. 4 stars because the cheese was delicious as always. We had the Cheddar and Alpine fondue, both of which are to die for. The Cesar salad is great with the pine nuts and the Dark and Dolce chocolate fondue was amazing.

For a group of 4, this place needs to either add another pot, or put more fondue in the pot. I think that their standard is 4 people for one pot, and then they add another pot with additional people. I think this place is better to go to in pairs. When we got our dessert fondue, we were told to wait a bit because it still wasn’t hot yet. Since my brother’s an impatient person, he just went ahead and dipped his share of the food in anyway. By the time the chocolate was actually heated up and warm, we were scraping the sides of the pot with the desserts that they gave us to dip. With the entrée fondue, at first it looked like they gave us enough broth. But what people forget is that evaporation is a thing, and applies to broth as well. I think with the broth, there was enough to go around between the 4 of us, but just barely. We had to really stick the skewers to the bottom of the bowl in order to cook our meats thoroughly. This doesn’t pass over the heads of the waiters/waitresses either. Our waitress passed by when we were on our dessert fondue and commented about how little chocolate there is when we still had half the desserts left, and she still went about her rounds. I think that they need to start offering to fill up our pot a little more or something. The complimentary entrée cooking style is all you really need, but if you’re willing to pay more, the Mojo has this citrus-y taste to it, if that’s the kind of thing you like, and they put it all together right in front of you. With some deals going on, like Groupons, the cooking styles that normally cost more, are also included, so that’s a good time to try them. For the dessert fondue, I think that their banana foster fondue is the best thing on their menu. If you’re going to pay that much for chocolate, spend it on that. It’s white chocolate melted with bananas and cinnamon. They sprinkle the cinnamon right in front of you and then flambee it at the same time so that you can see the cinnamon light up as it goes into the pot. It’s really pretty. There’s also the flaming turtle, which is one of their more popular desserts. It’s milk chocolate with caramel and pecans, and it’s also flambeed right in front of you. If you want a little show for your instagram, the flame for this one lasts longer than the sparks for the banana foster. I’m allergic to wine, and they’re accommodating to that. If you are too, make sure you tell your waiter/waitress before you order. Normally, some of the fondues(most of the cheese ones) would have wine in them, but they can also substitute it with olive oil or something. The portions here fill you up a lot, especially if you’re getting multiple courses. It’s a place that you have to spend time at for a couple hours. It basically took us 2 or 3 hours to finish everything. The sauces that they give you for your entrée course are unique, but good. They have their takes on sweet and sour sauce, teriyaki sauce, curry sauce, and others. I recommend using the gorgonzola sauce with the red meats, and their curry sauce on the fish! They’re unexpected pairings, but they’re so amazing. They also give you complimentary vegetables, which go well with their sour cream sauce. They also don’t have a problem with you asking for more of the sauces either, since they already come in tiny little cups. I wish that they would give us more fondue, especially for groups of 4. You start to run out of fondue and end up having to scrape the fondue from the sides of the pot with the food that they give you. If you’re in a group of 2 though then you’re fine, because they give enough for 2. As for the food itself, it’s pretty good, but I don’t think it’s worth the price. I would recommend coming in when there’s a Groupon, Restaurant Week, or happy hour.

Surprise birthday dinner for my boyfriend tonight. We got lucky and it landed on the first day of restaurant week SD! We did a 3 course meal $ 30 a person. We got a starter cheese fondue with bread, veggies and apples. Both had our own side salad choices. Entrée we chose the seafood trio and the French Quarter entrée with Cajun seasoning on seafood, chicken and filet mignon. By far my favorite entrée was the Cajun seasoning and the filet mignon. No dessert with this option. Service was amazing luckily we had a reservation because the wait time for a walk in was 3 hours! We were given a secluded booth seat in the back and around the corner. It was very romantic and nice we felt like we had our own private table to enjoy. We had a great time and the food was perfect. If you haven’t tried a fondue dinner you should come try it out. It’s defiantly a different kind of dining experience.

Despite my date’s aversion to going out to «cook the food yourself,» he agreed to Melting Pot for his birthday dinner. I bought a Groupon, which consisted of two salads, a cooking style, two entrees, and one dessert fondue. The strawberry caprese salad was fantastic! Served on a chilled plate, the strawberries were and mozzarella were delicious and I loved the sweet and tanginess of the balsamic glaze. We picked the«mojo» cooking style to share because it seemed the most interesting. It smelled heavenly as the citrus, broth, spices, and veggies cooked, but when I cooked the Memphis style BBQ pork medallions it didn’t seem to enhance the flavor of the actual meat. The pork medallions were pretty tasteless, but thank goodness for the array of dipping sauces, that made it appetizing. In particular, the curry dipping sauce was a stand out. Hands down the highlight of the experience was the dessert fondue. We ordered the«Snicker’s» fondue which isn’t on the menu. Ask for it! It’s fantastic with bits of peanuts, chocolate, and caramel all mixed in together. After one bite, I regret finishing up my main meal and wished that I would have saved more room for dessert. As one would expect at these kind of fancy schmancy places the service was top notch. I would definitely go back just for the dessert fondue someday.

My boyfriend and I arrived earlier than our reservation but they chose not to seat us right away, so we just waited… Odd. I disliked how right when you walk in, they ask do you have any promotions? I purchased the groupon and I felt like my customer service just wasn’t up to par because I got the groupon deal. Groupons are for people who haven’t tried a restaurant but want to try it for a bargain then see if they like it enough to come back and pay full price. I thought the experience was average and if I wanted a «real meal» I wouldn’t come here because the entrees are ok and way overpriced. I wouldn’t recommend this place for your three course dinner. I would just suggest coming here for their dessert since that’s the only thing that’s worth it. My server was alright, not too smiley and joyful with us but he was attentive and made sure our breads for the cheese was filled and waters. My boyfriend ordered the sirloin and I got the filet mignon. I was quite filled, but the food itself was just average to me. Thank goodness for the sauces, that’s what saved my entrée. Other than that, it would’ve been bland. Order the dessert!!! And if anything the cheese, not too salty and it just was yummy. The dessert is honestly the only thing worth trying. Go somewhere else to get a better and cheaper dinner then come here for dessert comes with pound cake, brownies, marshmallows, strawberries, bananas, and more. Yum.

Mmmmm yumm! Ok I haven’t had melting pot for years since I moved away from Memphis! It used to be my fav dessert spot! Melting pot has a groupon deal so decided to check it out! It was pretty awesome– I remember back then, I didn’t like their entrée that much– u should go here for dessert and not for regular meals… The food actually taste pretty flat unless u adorn ur food with sauce like I did– their regular meal is like an American version of Asian hot pot except Asian hot pot are a lot more flavorful n better in my taste ;)) But! Dessert was bomb diggity! Omg… Was sooooo good! Got the dulce something something but Omgosh… The mix of dark chocolate n salt tasted amazing!!! Mmm mmm good! I also loved their ying yang margarita! Sugar high much? ;)). But it was good! Thanks Leah for a wonderful recommendation and service! :)

I absolutely love this restaurant. The food, the service, the décor, were all amazing. I wish I could give it a 5 stars, but their prices are a bit unjustified. The three times of great fun and experience I had here were all paid with a living social or Groupon voucher. Honestly, without that, I would spend my money elsewhere. Look out for those deals! It’s too bad it only happens once or twice a year at most… But you should still give it a shot, and here’s why: Cooking your own food might seem to be a ludicrous way of dining, but it can actually turn to a fun experience! First off, the cheese fondue was prepared in front of you by your server, and all you need to do is to dip the food in the double boiler of freshly melted and seasoned cheese. We chose the bacon cheese option that was cooked in white wine and it’s absolutely delightful. I loved the crunchy raw vegetables they provided us for dipping, along with the crispy Granny Smith apples, but the bread was embarrassingly old, bland and dry. They might want to serve better bread. Then we moved on to our entrée. We chose the 3 item plate for each of us so we got to try 6 different items! We both agreed on the mojo broth, and its taste reminds me a little of Tom yum soup but without the chili due to its strong sour taste from the orange and lime juices. You can always tell the server to adjust the taste of your broth while s/he is making it in front of you. Everything we chose was amazing except for the filet mignon which is the bland, inferior version of the peppered filet, so you can skip that. Here is how we rate our choices: 1st duck breast(so tender and flavorful, out of this world flavor!!!) 2nd pacific white shrimp(fresh and crunchy) 3rd peppered filet(tender and delicious) 4th garlic chicken(tender and garlicky) 5th teriyaki sirloin(sweet and tender) 6th last plain filet mignon(can skip if you get the peppered filet) Sauces, rated: 1st yellow cumin 2nd Greek goddess sour cream and chives 3rd teriyaki 4th Gorgonzola 5th angry cocktail(basic orange sauce) 6th sweet and sour(basic orange sauce) Definitely order the chocolate fondue. All their ingredients were so good, except for the weird pineapple that seemed out of place for chocolate… Anyway, I don’t think it matters which chocolate you choose. Service was very attentive and genuine even with our Groupon. The hostess asked if I have a promotion so I gave her the Groupon voucher code. All the subsequent staff we talked to all knew we had a Groupon deal so they were all helpful to explain how it works. I received very decent service even with my Groupon. The manager even offered dry cleaning service when the busboy spilled sauce on my guy’s shirt! Very kind of them. Parking is complimentary for 3 hours in the hotel garage with ticket validation from your hostess, $ 2⁄30 mins or $ 4/hour thereafter. Love this place!

Went here for a late dinner. I made reservations for 6:30. Making reservations is better because you are guaranteed a seat. We had to valet my car because there wasn’t any street parking available. Valet costs $ 8.00. As we entered we were greeted by three hostesses. All were very nice. I told the hostess we had a 6:30 reservation. We were guided upstairs and got seated in a booth. Very dim and dark inside. Very romantic. This was our first time here. It is a very expensive and classy place. My husband had a voucher which saved him some money. We were given a menu. We decided on the four course menu. Our server was Jessica. She goes by Jess. She was super friendly and made sure we were taken care of. I had an iced tea to drink with lemon. We started with the spinach artichoke dip accompanied by bread, veggies and green apples. The spinach artichoke dip had a creamy thick texture and tasted great. Next I had a Caesar salad which was delicious. It had croutons on top and was crisp. Then, I had the surf and turf. I cooked the meat and lobster tail in the boiling mojo which consisted of a broth with chopped up garlic, lime juice and an a squeeze of an orange. We also had some broccoli, mushrooms, and potatoes to cook in the boiling mojo. It only took minutes to cook everything. The lobster tail was so tender after I took it out. I also cooked my meat tender but not too tough. Everything tasted great! For dessert, we had the flaming turtle which Jessica put a flame on top of the chocolate fondu. It was accompanied by some cut up strawberries, marshmallows, pineapple, brownies, pound cake and rice crispy treats. Dunking them each in the melted chocolate was so good. My daughter just liked the chocolate. I enjoyed this the most! Jessica was a great waitress. She did an excellent job of serving us and made sure our drinks were refilled. I liked how she explained everything to us since it was our first time here. I highly recommend this place if you have not been here before.
