Had to wait 15+ minutes for a table for 4 adults/2 kids even though there was plenty of room/empty tables. It was hot inside the restaurant, and also very loud. The waitress was so extremely slow, to the point where I had to get up to pay my bill. The food was watery(got an omelette) & sour cream was an extra 80 cents… But then sour cream was forgotten, so I needed to ask for it again, so ½ my meal was gone before it even came. Parking is also horrible. Won’t EVER be back — & will be telling our out of town guests to never try it out. Disappointed.

This is our new favorite breakfast spot! We usually go in on Saturday mornings after a long run at the bay. The food comes out fast and service is great. Really simple but delicious menu. The pancakes are to die for. Highly recommend!

Loved this place. Staff are extremely friendly and attentive. Get three times more food at half the price of anything at paradise point.

This is the best breakfast I have ever eaten hands down. Homemade goodness at it’s finest. We saw the reviews on Unilocal and decided to give it a try so glad we did. I will visit every time our family comes to San Diego.

I’ve been coming here for three years. We had my fiancé’s birthday breakfast here– surprise breakfast balloons and all. I usually love it here. We are NEVER remembered by the owner. The last time we went in the owner came up and we said«hi, how are you?» He immediately complained about how busy it was(what!!!) I was carded, again(no big) by the owner. I reached for my purse and my sunglasses fell. He picked them up, put them back on the table and says, «wouldn’t wanna drop the cheapies!» Freaking… RUDE! You’re the owner of a business! I’m in the service industry and expect better customer service. I hope he reads this… Not cool, dude.

Nice little breakfast joint. Reminds me of some of the small town diners I’ve been in over many years of traveling all over America. Well worth a trip from most anywhere in San Diego. I especially like their Acai bowls and steak& eggs breakfast.

Worst place for breakfast. food was cold and disgusting. I.e. the eggs benidict can best be described as, hard boiled eggs covered in a cold gelatinous cheese sauce. I can’t believe anyone put cheese in a holindaise sauce…

Came here and there was no wait, the place was about half full. I got the machaca, which was just mediocre. The server suggested it. The refried beans were very bland, tortillas were all broken up. Hubs got breakfast burrito, and at the end he said he was just going to go to a drive thru taco shop next time. Service was lacking. Maybe we ordered the wrong thing, I don’t know. The extra star is for the sour cream in the squeeze bottle they give you. Genius idea. When I left I noticed I had used every single condiment on the table, trying to change the flavor and consistency of my meal. The mints with the check are yummy. Maybe I’ll give it a whirl again. I knew I should of gone for an all carb breakfast!(Like pancakes or French toast)

Service was great, it wasn’t too busy when we went at 9am on a Sunday! There was no wait! I got the plain buttermilk pancakes and they were amazing! My friend had the breakfast quesadilla and said it was amazing as well!

2 Mimosas and a cup of coffee to start. The Mimosas are worth the $ 4 and Coffee is GREAT. The coffee is Organic and Fair Trade which is a big deal in my household. Our child attends The only Certified Fair Trade School in California. When my wife asked if the Tea was Fair trade, the waitress looked at us odd and told us she was not sure. If you are going to advertise that your coffee is Fair trade, at least have your staff educated on what Fair Trade is and what you have that is Fair Trade. We split a plate of 3 eggs, Jalapeño Bacon(well worth the extra $ 1), Potatoes and Biscuit with Gravy. The eggs were fresh and good. The bacon is D-Bomb!!! The biscuit is average but good enough to have again and the gravy is better than average. The Potatoes were cooked well but lacked and resemblance of seasoning. Please just add a little season salt or SOMETHING and they would be 10 times better. Overall a good meal. I will be back… definitely for the bacon and Mimosas. I hope the next time the potatoes are seasoned because I love good seasoned potatoes.

Pretty standard breakfast food but seemed to lack any sort of real flavor. The breakfast quesadilla could use some tasty Mexican herbs n’ spices and same with the omelettes… I seem to always leave thinking I could have made it at home

Live in the neighborhood and there isn’t alot real close. So, for breakfast this is it. I have ordered here«to go» twice and«dine in» once. It’s pretty good and the service isn’t bad. If you are feeling too lazy to cook breakfast it is a good deal. If you aren’t looking for nothing special this is your spot.,

This place is okay, but doesn’t stand out much from other breakfast/brunch places in PB. Had a late breakfast with a friend here today. I had some eggs with ham, sausage, and bacon, along with a biscuit with gravy, and he had one of their scrambled egg combos with pancakes. The eggs were made right, but didn’t come out hot, the ham was a little overdone, and the potatoes were dry– my friend referred to them as military potatoes. The sausage and bacon and biscuit were just ok. I liked the flavor of the gravy and it came out nice and hot but the biscuit underneath was dense and was not hot at all. I think the meal could have been better if things had gotten on the plate and out to me with better timing. My friend was served his breakfast with no syrup for his pancakes. Other than the syrup hiccup, service was friendly and prices were average. Their Bloody Mary was nothing special, although I liked the use of tajin for the salt rim. I’m rounding up from 2.5 to 3. For some reason I felt like I wanted to like this place more…

I’ve been here twice. The service is friendly(when we could get service). I did come here right before a holiday so I understand they can be short of staff. The food portions are good but there is nothing special about their food. It just tastes like any old breakfast place you get at Denny’s perhaps. Not sure if I would drive back to eat here.

I’ve driven by this local eatery countless times and finally decided to given them a try for some breakfast. I choose the build your own scramble with two eggs, spinach, mushrooms, and zucchini topped with Feta cheese served with a side of home fries and rye toast for $ 8 and some change. The scramble was nice and came with a good amount of the vegetables I requested. They were all tasty and tender. I was very pleased that they loaded the scramble with the Feta cheese that I love so much. The scrambled eggs were light and fluffy and well seasoned. The home fries were great. That had a nice brown crispiness and piping hot tender center. They were lightly seasoned and tasted of good old home cooked potatoes, but it was that nice exterior crispiness that gave them the edge. Well done. The rye toast was pretty typical. It was a little under toasted and came with a small amount of butter. A little more toasting and butter would of been just grand. I arrived before the crowds so there were only a few people there. Therefore, service was very good, friendly, and efficient. Very good breakfast for under $ 10.

My friend and I walked in for a causal breakfast on a Tuesday morning and were greeted with a smile. We were acknowledged and served coffee right away. Based on the reviews I expected casual and thats what it was. Nothing fancy or flashy, just a breakfast diner. My friend ordered the granola french toast upon the waitress’s request and she loved it. I ordered the one egg and bacon breakfast with potatoes and a biscuit. The egg was fine, just how I ordered it. The biscuit was okay too. I wanted the potatoes to be a little thinner so they were more crispy, some of the pieces were too thick to get crunchy. But… lets talk about the bacon. Holy moly this bacon is what I will be back for. It was thick and crispy enough, and everything that any bacon lover wants. Overall, it was inexpensive, comfortable, and a great value. Go for the bacon!

Found this place to be ok. Based on previous reviews I had higher overall expectations and they weren’t quite met. The Menu is located on Ingraham, so it’s street parking. We came on a Sat morning and found parking a block away. The restaurant is pretty small, so if it’s full, then you have to wait outside. We had to stand outside for about 10 – 15 mins for a table. When we were finally seated, I felt as if the two tables next to us were really close. To eat I ordered the special which was pumpkin pancakes with pecans served with 2 eggs and jalapeño bacon. My bf ordered the breakfast burrito with potatoe, eggs, bacon, and cheese. Pancakes were good and you can taste the pumpkin. Jalepeno bacon was interesting. The breakfast burrito was a bit heavy on the potatoes. When we cut it in half, it looked like a potatoe burrito. Overall it was ok. I do think there are better places in PB to go for breakfast.

I’ve been here a few times and even ordered for pick up and I’ve never been disappointed! The girls are always friendly and the service is always quick. Their iced lattes are delicious! The acai bowl is a must! I usually always opt for the French toast with eggs and bacon. I’ve also tried the country steak breakfast– amazing! Restaurant interior is simple and cute! Prices are reasonable. I will be back!

I have 2 priorities at breakfast. Lattes and waffles. This place failed at both. The menu said they had vanilla lattes. So when I ordered a plain latte, I was surprised to hear they didn’t have it. They had iced coffee, milk and vanilla syrup. So they lied. The waffle wasn’t crisp. It was chewy. I can make a crisp waffle in my toaster, so I will stay home next time and do just that.

If you are the kind of person that likes low priced and low quality food that’s the place for you. This restaurant feels like they are out of date. The service was really slow and the food didn’t taste good. The price was ok but I rather pay a little bit more and enjoy my breakfast!

This place is amazing! I remember going to hole in the wall restaurants growing up as a kid. This place is awesome because everything from the chairs to the plates and flat ware remind me of these places. The service is great and the food is pretty bomb too. My friends and I went there around 1PM and they were still serving breakfast.

Date of visit: 8÷22÷2015 Cam and I have decided to start trying other PB restaurants to try and expand some of our local favorites. On a Saturday morning, there are so few restaurants open, so choosing The Menu was not a difficult decision. Since it’s located right on Ingraham, parking is a pain in the butt. Even with us getting there around 8, which is way early for PB dining, we still had to park a block away from the restaurant. It looked like there were some neighborhood streets you could park on too, so if parallel parking along a busy one lane street isn’t your cup of tea, there are other options that take you just a couple blocks away from the restaurant. Upon entering, there were several families with small children dining — the waitresses were so kind to all of the children, so it is definitely family friendly. Of course, this does mean it gets a bit loud with the screaming, but overall it wasn’t too bad. The coffee here is fair trade organic and is definitely better than diner coffee. I’ve been hit or miss with coffee lately, and this was definitely a good hit. I really enjoyed it with my half of the breakfast burrito. Breakfast Burrito. Eggs, easy cheese, potatoes, bacon sausage, green peppers, avocado. I am not a fan of beans or sour cream, which are typical ingredients of a breakfast burrito, so the option to get to build my own was really nice. Of course, this definitely pushed our burrito charge to almost $ 10, so it was a little expensive. However, when it came out, it was huge! They definitely put everything we asked for inside the burrito. I also liked that the burrito wasn’t too greasy and the potatoes were house potatoes instead of the typical french fries/hash browns. Belgian Waffle with Strawberries. I wasn’t a big fan of the waffle or the cold butter sticks as it made it really difficult to spread on the waffle, but I was definitely a huge fan of the FRESH strawberries used. I absolutely hate those preserved strawberries, so it was nice to see The Menu using real and fresh strawberries. Those were super delicious. Room temperature butter and warm syrup would make this dish better, but still not my favorite waffle. One of the best part of our visit was that everything came out super quickly. I know there weren’t that many people in the restaurant, but it was still nice to have the quick service. The wait staff was also super friendly and definitely remembered their regulars. Overall, we’ll probably be back to The Menu for the breakfast burrito. Cam wants to try some of their other options, but I definitely liked the make your own burrito option. Yum!

This is the second time I’ve come to The Menu for breakfast, my favorite meal of the day. Once again, it was a pleasant experience. It’s a good little place to eat. It’s small, or as I like to say, cozy. It reminds me of a little family-owned place I used to frequent in college. The food is wonderful and satisfying, the prices are right and the menu is just diverse enough but not excessive. I’m thrilled with the service, our waitress today was very friendly and good at her job. It’s the perfect place for a laid back Sunday morning breakfast.

The casual atmosphere, delicious breakfast staples and quick service are what make The Menu pretty damn awesome. We showed up about thirty minutes before closing and they still whipped us up some great grub. The portions are huge and the diner-style menu made this Jersey girl feel right at home. And the prints of historic San Diego on the walls gave us something cool to look at while we waited for our food. The salsa was by far the best part. Only thing I’d improve was the number of eggs in the quesadilla. I wish it had been a little thicker.

I wanted to treat my friend to breakfast on her birthday. She picked The Menu, and I was fine with that since I had never come before. It was during the week and the place was packed. Old pictures of San Diego decorate the walls and the tables. The service was friendly and fast, but the food was mediocre at best. The price is good and the portions were a good size. My son ordered the breakfast quesadilla, and my friend and I both had omelettes and coffee. The bill with the tip was $ 40. This is a place you go in your sweatpants or even your pajamas. It was very low key, but I’m not in a hurry to come back.

I love this place! Came on a Sunday morning, crowd wasn’t too bad and found seating immediately. Service was great, friendly and prompt. Naturally, had to order the double bloody mary and was not disappointed. I had eggs benedict but with spinach instead of ham and tomato slices. It came out quickly and was super tasty! I think I finished everything on my plate. My boyfriend had the eggs, hang, bacon, and pancakes, also delicious! Very reasonably priced and good quality food and service. I will be coming back here again!

Came here early in the morning in search of a quick breakfast that would give me enough energy to go on a long hike for the day. The Menu opened early, they open 7 am everyday of the week which was good for me, because parking in this area gets crowded the later it gets. The sign out front promising of Jalapeño bacon had looked interesting to say the least. This place serves up typical breakfast along with some Mexican inspired breakfast options, with morning drinks and Café Virtuoso coffee. Place is covered in large photographs hung on the wall that depict old San Diego before it became a major city( ) which seemed interesting to see. The service here was great, there wasn’t too many people here early in the morning, just some regulars. Although the waitress seemed really tired, she made a great effort to refill my coffee( ) plenty of times, which I can never get enough of. Since I’m quite the creature of habit, I went with a Belgian waffle combo, with eggs and bacon. However I opted to try their Jalapeño bacon, which was just only a dollar extra. I was kinda bummed after ordering, I would have tried the multigrain option for the waffle, which was only a bit more. The combo was quite delicious( ), with the Belgian waffle being massive. The waffle was crispy on the outside and the syrup they brought added great flavor to it. Eggs were fluffy and came with a side of spicy pico de gallo, which was nice to stack on top. They gave a plentiful four whole strips of their special Jalapeño bacon. They cooked the bacon perfect, wasn’t too burnt or crispy and the cuts were good as they weren’t pure fat. The spiciness of the bacon was awesome, this bacon was damn delicious. Had a great breakfast here, with good food and service. I would definitely come back to try some of their other menu items at a later date. Place has a good location too, right down the street from Crown Point, have some breakfast then head down to the beach.
