After a terrible first experience, we gave it one more try. This place needs a new manager and someone to train their employees. Easy bagel sandwiches are confused, always an unnecessary line, and ultimately the staff ends up asking you what your order was because the front desk enters it incorrectly in the beginning. Come on guys. You’re sitting a gold mine in North PB: young professionals, families with kids, and hungover college kids. Take your pick — the clientele is there… now get your act together and cater to it!

The service is growing on me. I previously posted that I could do without the forced«welcome» but they seem to be becoming more genuine with each visit. I LOVE the zesty egg white something or other. With turkey sausage, egg whites, cheese and s tomato basil spread; I’m filled up without being weighed down. I also like that they keep vanilla creamer in a large container near the half and half and milk options. I don’t have to worry about them running out too quickly. I love my creamer with a slash of coffee . I love the«skinny» option(they take out the bulk of the middle of your bagel) but wish they would donate or repurpose the extra instead of slapping it in what I assume is a trash can, right in front of me. It just feels wasteful. Anyway great service today and great bagels. What else does one need at a place such as this?

Poor service! Messy served food. And unenthusiastic employees. Not to mention long wait times. I like the bagels the best here but because service was so bad. My husband refuses to let me come back again.

Service was terrible. I walked in at 7:40 in the morning with no one in line. One unhappy lady behind the counter took my order with a scowl on her face. Charged me for a medium coffee when I requested a small and didn’t give me a cup. Didn’t notice this until later. Order toasted spinach Florentine with cream cheese — underwhelming and cold. I had to ask for the coffee cup and the other worker, indifferent though not mean, handed a small cup to me. No good morning, no have a good day. I like the location but will not be returning as I had a similar experience the last time I was there with the same two workers.

Slow, slow, slow! and horrible customer service. Will to start going back to Bruegger’s across the parking lot.

I’ve never written a bad review about anything, but this place deserves to be my first. I was scheduled to put together an important sales meeting for my customers with 3 dozen bagels and 4 coffee travelers the other morning. I called this location the day before to place my order and tell them I was going to pick up in the morning — even asked for it to be ready 15 min earlier than I needed it in case of a delay. I arrive when I told them I would at 8:30AM and the girl, who was the only one working at a popular bagel place on a weekday morning, tells me «sorry, I was too busy with customers and haven’t had a chance to get to your order yet. I can start it now and it should be ready in 30 min.» Well I didn’t have 30 min, that would be after my meeting started. I told her that this is unbelievable and left before I said anything else — really knowing this was not entirely her fault, but also management’s fault for under-scheduling staff on a weekday morning! I was upset and embarrassed and had to arrive to my appt without any coffee or bagels. Never will use this location again, even though they are conveniently 2 min from me, and I HIGHLYADVISE against it unless you want to be disappointed. Need new managers, more staff.

I was a little apprehensive walking in after reading the reviews, but I couldn’t get a bagel with salmon off my brain. Walking in I was instantly welcomed by the sweetest girl named Anna, she was helpful, kind and overall someone you would meet and think«I wanna be friends with them» And my Lox was perfectly prepared by her

I ordered a bagel with cream cheese and avocado and I literally was given one small slice of avocado for the entire bagel. This is just outright rude. Please respect your customers better.

These customers are TRIPPEN! Honestly, most of the times, is the customers themselves. I come here all the time ! & the employees are wonderful. They always greet you but I notice customers don’t politely reply back so you can’t blame the employees. How you treat them, they will treat you. I understand customer service but what you give is what you get. Their human beings, too! & you can’t blame them for the prices. They only work for the company. Any suggestions for Einsteins Company, contact the CEO. These girls are quick & friendly.

Worst Einstein’s location I’ve Ever been to. Came today for a nova lox bagel sandwich only to see their sign that they closed an hour early today. Guess they just make up their hours as they go here. Must be nice, my work doesn’t have a create your own hours mantra like this. I’ve also been here before, just because I like the lox sandwich but the employees are very rude and act like you’re a nuisance to help, like you interrupted their day. Will take my business elsewhere this place sucks!

Customer service is everything to me and I was quite shocked with how rude the employees are here. I asked the gentleman where I could review the list of vegetables and other«toppings» I could add to my bagel. He laughed and told me they didn’t have a list. I asked him if he could please tell me what they have and he answered«just tell me what you want». He said some other rude things as well. I had friends there watching this whole thing and although this place may be cheap, Brueggers Bagels just gained three regular customers!

Came here and got a quick breakfast before work. A bagel Sandwich with egg and ham. Food– So, SO nothing to write home about really. I would come here again in a pinch but, also would find no loyalty to here based on the food. Service– decent. The girl did her job and did it pleasantly which is the least I hope for especially here in So Cal where bad service seems to be a thing. I enjoyed my early morning exchange with here which was helpful to my day. Price– Kinda pricey. Especially when a bagel sandwich is the same price as a regular lunch sandwich that comes with sides. Half of their bagels flavorswere out which is a bummer. If I have to pay a higher price I better be catered to with choice and option. Location– Conveniently located in a shopping plaza with a pet store and grocery. Which makes doing a bunch of errands all at once a great option with this spot. Overall, I don’t think I would rush back here or recommend it but, if I were in a pinch for a snack or food and a bagel sounded good I would stop in occasionally to get these items. They also offer fresh squeezed juice which is a plus!

Twice this week I ordered a breakfast sandwich with egg whites and a whole wheat bagel cut thin and twice they said no egg whites and did not cute bagel to make it thin as asked. It seems like they are just not able to deliver on the menu they have posted. Time to find somewhere else to get a breakfast sandwich

I like their pre made salads and most of their bagels but for some reason I always end up paying a fortune!!! It really pisses me off that they charge extra for everything!!! a slice of tomato: + $ 1, slice of onion? another $ 1. a leaf of lettuce??? yes, you guessed it!!! another $ 1 Also, the place in PB is tiny!!! so you are most likely going to end up eating your bagel on the curb side(now that Vons removed their patio tables) Note to the manager/s: your staff is NOT friendly at all… I don´t think requesting a toasted bagel is unreasonable. Do You???

I had a really strange experience at a recent visit to Einstein’s bagels. I went with a group of friends and ordered an everything bagel toasted with cream cheese(my go-to) and an iced coffee. Both came out quickly and I really liked the iced coffee which is hard to come by at a bagel place for me. While preparing my iced coffee my phone was set down on the ledge where they pass out the bagels to the customers and it was knocked into a crevice between the bar where they make the bagels and a wall. I panicked and all my friends rushed over to see if we could get it out. We could see the phone lighting up down at the bottom but the crack was too small to fit our arm down into. We were asking the workers what we could do about it and they looked at us with blank stares saying that there was nothing they could do. They told me the bar was bolted into the wall and there was no way to get behind it. They also had the nerve to tell me this had happened before with someones car keys and they couldn’t get them. In my opinion it was their job to help me get my phone out of their store. The whole situation was rather ridiculous to be honest. I went next door to a kitchen-aid store where they supplied me with a long rod to help get my phone out but unfortunately it didn’t work. The workers back at Einsteins said they would call their manager and let me know so I had to leave the store knowing my phone was still in there. The manager didn’t call me back for a full day after i had called countless times. He told me there was nothing they could do. That’s when my dad got involved, calling them saying it was a health code violation if they couldn’t get back there to clean, which was true. It was only after that call from my father that they were proactive and got someone in there to unbolt the wall, retrieve my phone, the car keys and other countless items that had fallen back there and rebolt the bar back, leaving no space so this wouldn’t happen again. They called me to tell me my phone was out and when I went in to retrieve it, I got no apologies or anything. They handed me my phone without a word. The whole situation was very strange and it was all based on bad customer service. It’s a shame because I really like Einsteins and will continue to get their bagels simply because they are good, have a fair prices and are very close to my house(hence the two stars instead of one). I haven’t gone in there since the incident and it will be interesting to see how they act towards me if I do decide to go in again.

Got my bagel in no time flat– got the nova lox on an everything bagel. Tasted just as I expected, thought the pricing was fair. After coming here, I feel like I should incorporate bagels more into my diet since there are so many combinations I’m not aware of! It doesn’t seem like a pleasant place to eat– kind of had poor lighting in here. Also note, there is no restroom in the restaurant(seems like a lot of places in the plaza don’t have restrooms).

I normally like to visit a place more than once to give what I think is a solid indication of what it is truly like. I don’t think this Einsteins is going to sway me up or down on my next visit either way, so here goes. Came in one morning for a quick breakfast bite on my way work. There was no line which was good for my hunger, but also alarming because it was 8am on Monday(prime time coffee/breakfast hours). I checked out the egg sandwiches and decided the egg, spinach, mushroom, and swiss was the one. I had them slab it all on a pumpernickel bagel. It was good, but it seemed tiny. Don’t make any jokes here, I know what you’re thinking. Being from the north east and having had a ton of amazing bagel sandwiches over the years, places like Einsteins and Brueggers do their best to keep up the Jones’, but at the end of the day they are chains and they don’t have that mom and pop awesomeness that I come to expect in a bagel. Einsteins is good, but not great, and not too bad. 3 stars will suffice.
