Nice Restaurant for quiet quality time. Going to new and trendy Restaurants is cool but sometimes you want to go somewhere where you can actually hear your tables conversation. That place is here. Never busy. Good, fast, service. Always quiet and still a nice place to dine. If your not feeling desert you can always go shopping after instead. Or do both I always leave here feeling like a nap would be nice do to the quiet calm vibe of the Restaurant. Tips: This place is good for those on a «diet» and anyone looking for light dining. The portions here are pretty small overall. The salmon and bread here are really good. I feel like the salads and desserts here are also on point. Not a fan of the filet.

The only reason I came here was because Nordstrom café was busy and I shouldn’t have because the food was so bad I could get a better salad at Von’s they were out of ranch so they gave me a teaspoon of blue cheese literally was a teaspoon and the service was bad took an hour to get my food and it was just a salad and let’s just say I rather make myself a salad before ever coming back here

This is for my experience on July 2, 2015. Was at the Town & Country for a convention and wandered over to the mall for lunch. What a dining wasteland(aside from Blue Smoke Sushi) that area is! I had hoped one of the department stores included a decent place to eat and I was very happy with The Zodiac. Wait service was fantastic — thank you, Arturo! The nice extras like the consommé w/biscuit and the popover were reasons in and of themselves to return. The glass of Château Miraval rose went so well with the salmon salad. And I had to try the Niederfrank’s ice cream. Yum!

I love this place. It’s one of the hidden gems here in Fashion Valley. They start you with a espresso size cup of broth and a bite of cheese biscuit. They bring a crusty and light roll with some strawberry butter. Their menu constantly changing. Today I’m having the Ahi wrap. And sharing the crab cake appetizer which is sooo yummy

First time eating here. Quinoa spaghetti is light and fresh, shrimp salad had perfectly grilled shrimp. Just the right amount of pretentiousness, without feeling too stuffy but making you feel it’s Newman Marcus. –1 star for being pricey. $ 50 for lunch just 2 entrees.

I love this place! The moment I sat down, I knew I would be enjoying something very special and tasty. I loved the Demi cup of broth and cheesy bit of bread given to me when they took our drink order. Enough to clean the palette and make me just a little more hunger. We shared the crab cake starter they offer and it blew me away! My eyes rolled back in my head because of the flavors then loving the lightness of the texture. I can’t wait to try seared ahi nicoise. They brought out a wonderfully light and airy and they serve a yummy strawberry type butter to accompany it. My salad is here and I’m including a pic

Fab popovers with strawberry butter for all… They also serve you a espresso cup of broth with a tiny cheese pastry upon arrival. Just classy, but so quiet and on the top floor! They have great salads, we all had one. I had the shrimp salad. It had spinach, goat cheese, grilled shrimp, avocado, carrot and tomato, maybe some nuts with a light dressing on the side. It was good but not worth $ 20. My partner had the Crab louie and seemed to devour it but what guy doesn’t devour a louie when starving? He liked it and said the crab was good. Real crab :) My boss had a salmon cesear which is he usual and liked it. The salmon looked great and was cooked perfect. Like I said, good but nothing spectacular for 20 $ something salads. I’d skip it next time and got to True Foods and wait!

Been here numerous times. Impeccable service and food is always good. Loved their Portobello burger. Didn’t like their seasonal bubbly peach moscato tho. Tasted artificial.

I’m sorry, but all the 5 stars given to this restaurant are ruining the credibility of Unilocal. This restaurant is over priced, the food is bland and the service mediocre at best! I really wanted to like this place, but now I know why it’s hardly ever full. Thanks, but no thanks, I’ll stick with Nordstroms Café or True Foods!

I was skeptical about this place but when I saw the review I figured I’d make the effort to try it. The zodiac was actually really good, different from any place I’ve been before. The food was fresh, delicious and light. I was a huge fan of the bread they served before the meal and the strawberry butter. It was amazing. I will go back!

I have eaten lunch here about 2 times per year for almost a decade! I always order the filet salad with blue cheese — its always to my liking. This place is nothing to write home about, but its quiet — a nice change of pace from the often crowded and noisy Nordstrom Café, which I frequent more often! The service is usually good — except the few times that they are completely booked — as I believe they are not prepared for a crowded restaurant! For a chain restaurant, in a chain store, the food is actually quite good — for me, its much better than eating at the cheesecake factory, stack, or others in fashion valley.

I’m a bit surprised by the high ratings. The food was borderline bad, and the service was just okay. As for ambiance, it almost feels like I am eating in an area that used to be a stockroom… bland and beige everything. I ordered the soup and the fish special. The soup tasted a bit like baby food and the fish had a mushy texture. Maybe it was an off day, but we were also not served an amuse-bouche or a popover. The food experiences I’ve had at Nordstrom Café were definitely better despite the crowds at lunch time.

I had high expectations for this restaurant and I really came here for the experience, but my husband and I left very disappointed. Seriously, everything was just meh. I tried one of our waitress’s two favorite dishes here, which was the chicken parmesan with quinoa, and it was just alright. Service was okay. I mean, it wasn’t exceptional, like everyone here made it sound like it was. We came here about half an hour after the restaurant opened and there were two other parties already there, so it wasn’t busy at all. They did refill our drinks and gave us our food and bill in a timely fashion, but they didn’t make recommendations of their specials or made us feel extra comfortable. Don’t think I’m going to dine at Zodiac again. You’re not missing out on anything.

Been here three times now. Frist two times were great. Star reduced for this recent visit… Table sat after us was dealt with first. They were brought a amuse bouche but we didn’t get one? We were also skipped over for their bread things they bring out. It was very disappointing feeling«second fiddle» to another table. Food is tasty when they bring you everything — just be sure to speak up if they forget your small bites.

Ambiance was nice. Service was great. Allergen experience was positive. Overall a very nice experience. Probably more like a 4.2 star experience. Had an Angus Burger on a roll with fresh kettle chips. Plate was $ 15. Food was tasty. Burger had a grilled smokey flavor. This is a sit down and relax kind of place. So if you like to take your time and chit chat quietly this is a good place to go.

I was very pleasantly surprised by my first visit to Zodiac a few weeks ago. I have been to the Rotunda in San Francisco and also the NM café in Honolulu – but I think that I like the San Diego restaurant best. It really offers excellent food at surprisingly reasonable prices. I ordered the soft shell crab sandwich. The crab was lightly fried, but fresh tasting. Bread slightly toasted with a light, scrumptious dressing. Of course the complimentary popover and chicken consommé were delicious!

After some shopping, it was time to grab a bite. This restaurant is conveniently located inside Neiman Marcus. If I could only make one comment about this place it would be that the service is stellar! Don’t get me wrong, the food was amazing too, but I can’t help but gush when I am treated like royalty. The wait staff are attentive, friendly and efficient. The food was really good. Ingredients were high quality and fresh. I shared a bistro salad and seared salmon fillet. Even the complimentary bread was super yummy. The waiter didn’t have to twist our arms too much to get us to agree to mud pie for dessert. It wasn’t just a meal, it was an experience. Even though there are endless meal options in and around the mall, I would definitely return to Zodiac again.

Holiday shopping can be quite stressful. Thank goodness for Zodiac Restaurant to wash away all that stress. This wonderful restaurant is tucked in the corner of the third floor at Neiman Marcus. It delivers the same wonderful service as the department store. We came here for lunch after a long day of holiday shopping. Our server greeted us with monkey bread and mini cup of chicken consume. We ordered the Ahi Tuna Wrap and Miso Salmon Salad. Both dishes were well prepared and tasty. We enjoyed our lunch so much, that we even ordered dessert. The chocolate lava cake is a must have. It was light and fluffy and absolutely yummy!!! Thank You Neiman’s for finding another wonderful way to take all my money!!!

Yummy popovers and friendly waitstaff. I got pretty full on the complimentary popovers alone, but managed to rally and order a salmon salad. The portion of fish was large, tender, and juicy. I ate alone and I didn’t feel like a freak, thanks to the server who called me «hon» and the friendly water-pourer-guy. They also give you a shot of chicken consommé, which is basically a sort of thicker chicken broth.

It’s worth it just to get fatty over those deceivingly light popovers and strawberry butter. Munch on that along with the teeny shot of chickeny brothy goodness and you have yourself a lunch in and of itself. However, thinking perhaps it would be a bit tacky just eating the delicious complimentary yummies I decided to keep it classy and order the Grilled Lemon Shrimp Salad: hearts of romaine, quinoa, feta, roasted red peppers, toasted almonds, citrus vinaigrette. I loved the combo of the quinoa with the veggies. Absolutely delicious! My mom got a giant tuna salad sandwich on croissant that came with a spinach salad and chips. I’m guessing it was good because my tiny mom packed it away! Definitely a fun and yummy way to take a break from shopping! I have to say I felt very«Ladies who lunch…”-esque what with the multitude of tables filled with middle-aged ladies sipping on their champagne and delicately munching on their salads(gotta keep it svelte of course!). I did feel a little out of place shoveling my shrimp into my mouth with one hand while the other held onto the popover with a deathgrip ready to be eaten but oh well — A girl’s gotta eat! Side note — service was GREAT! Had a sassy, lovely waitress and the staff kept our drinks full & popover plate refilled!
