My band played here a few weeks ago, looks super sketchy from the outside so my wife and I bailed until right before I had to go in. I was surprised at the space inside, and the extended stage area(which looks like it used to be the parking lot). The sound guy is pretty attentive, which was great. Had just enough room on stage and we could hear pretty good, a nice touch for a dive bar. Had Sculpin on tap, so that was A-ok! I’m not from San Diego, but I’d drop by from time to time if I was.

I like this bar! Slightly on the divey side, but not truly a dive bar. Came here for a reggae show the other night and had a good time. Drinks are good, venue is average sized, comfortable, really chill. The show itself was kinda weird… never been to a reggae show that was primarily instrumentals, so we didn’t think it was that great, but the bartenders were cool, drinks were cheap, and parking was easy. Really relaxed place to grab a drink and listen to music with friends. Kinda has the feel of how North Park probably was before some of the bars became more douchey.

Hipsters with tattoos and ironic hair styles, bands you’ve probably never heard of, a few roaches on the floor, and cheap strong drinks. I think I’m in love with this place.

Went there for an Open mic night. Went 15 heads strong and they said they cancelled it last second for a $ 15 cover for a band. We were informed a week ago the Open mic night was on. Rented film equipment and all. They didn’t even apologies. Went there regularly for old school nights and open night comedy nights. Bye Felicia.

Loved this place! Went there to meet someone & was pleasantly surprised. The area is a bit dodgy so being a single girl living in suburbia and walking down there after being away from there for so long was pretty«exciting». I walk into the place it looks small but then goes pretty far back where they have a stage and have band play. Very small venue. They have cool little booths up front(u shaped) and have great cocktails, IPAs, beers, etc to choose from. A wide variety of ages and people go there which was cool and no one seems to look at you like wth are you doing here? There was a ska band playing that night so there were some ska & punk younger people she’s basically all the way from 21 to 65 no joke! Good vibe through out, just a great experience over all. Highly recommend!

This is one of my fave spots to hit up in SD, I’ve seen some great live Ska shows here as well as several vinyl based DJ nights, All of which have popped off and have brought out great friendly people :) There has been a five dollar cover on the nights I gone to see music, and when I’ve gone and there hasn’t been music it’s still been a chill fun time :)

I like the setup of this pace and have frequented it plenty of times. oldies night once a night is the funniest and live music sometimes. I would go with a small group of friends. Only reason I don’t give 5 stars is because sometimes when it’s busy the bartending isn’t as on point or quick as one would like but overall it’s a cool spot.

Tuesday nights are my favorite because of the free comedy show, yummy pizza, and strong cheap drinks!

I go to dives. But this isn’t a dive. Don’t mistake the two. And I’m in no way cool enough for Til Two. Remember that school dance scene from Clueless where Brittany Murphy character’s Simon(rollin with the homies) stood fidgeting around and had that look of awkwardness? That’s a similar feeling I get walking into this place: I’m just not cool enough. To even think that having listened to Red Hot Chili Peppers or Dave Matthews, even STP gives me street cred? Nope. God knows growing up on hip hop and R n B, didn’t make me cool; It was a by product of where I grew up from.(Viva Los Angelés). For some reason I don’t get that feeling from similar venues like Bar Pink and recently, Live Wire. With Bar Pink, possibly it’s becoming a little more mainstream? Who knows. But Till Two, I can’t seem to shake that thought or feeling. Truth, no one here probably gives a rat’s ass. They are that cool. Dark lit atmosphere, cool tatted kids all around dressed in black and solid Ts, bands playing with lyrics that I dare not even try to sing along to, let alone understand, while I awkwardly bounce my head. I’m a little out of place and it’s a little intimidating for this hip hop chic, but as they say… opposites do attract. Then again, who likes good, stiff drinks on the cheap? /raises hand

I really liked this place and that’s based on a visit when there was hardly anyone there. It seems a dive, but has more class/style. The bartender was both nice and attentive, and the drink prices were great. As it’s relatively small/narrow with a big stage, I can also imagine others having completely different experiences depending on the crowd when busy. In other words, your milage might vary. But on a neutral night with no band, it was a fun, cool place to unwind.

Pros: * They often have live music with some pretty good bands * The drinks are reasonable priced. I usually get the Green Flash IPA when I come here and you can get two for under $ 10. * Bartenders are always attentive Cons: * Door man raised the cover charge when I asked him if the price quoted was per person or combined for my friend and I. After we called him on it, he let us in as long as we agreed to tip the bartender well. * Sometimes the vibe here can be a lot of fun, but the other night, the crowd seemed to take themselves a little too seriously. I have never seen so many guys with ironic mustaches and Fedora hats(as Adam on the show Workaholics said, «only one fedora per crew.»

Stopped in to drink some beers and see a friends’ band play. Wound up really enjoying my time here. Probably not a great place to see a band once it gets crowded though.(A bit limited on space in the back I think) Whatever I had fun.

Love the afternoon happy hour! The place is all neighborhood locals when it opens, i’m not sure what happens there late, I’m more of a happy hour kind of guy. Lots of good food nearby if you like Vietnamese. No problem to pick up some stuff from A. Chau to bring into the bar for a late lunch /early dinner. Always a friendly bartenter and bargain prices on drinks during HH.

Cool club to see a show at or just to pop in and chill. I saw Iron Chic and Dan Padilla play here a little while ago and it’s cool that the area for the shows is all the way in the back in case you want a little conversation up in the front. The sound for the shows could really be improved but hey, its a bar, not a concert hall. The ladies room was probably the cleanest I’ve EVER seen a bar bathroom and was well stocked. Good pours, good spot.

Cool club, used to be the Beauty Bar I think. San Diego needs to bring it’s ‘A’ game to shows though man. I went to see Direct Hit, Elway, and Red City Radio last month and they all put on a great show but the crowd hardly moved a muscle. Maybe it isn’t cool anymore to show bands that you like them. Rabble rabble rabble. Good drink prices.

I’ve been on a mission to check out the local rock venues. This is definitely the business when it comes to both worlds of a full bar and a live venue. Formerly the Beauty Bar, Til Two Club is the perfect hang out to get away. The parking might be a nightmare to some, but it’s worth the walk. Dark corridors may seem apparent, but the low glowing lights takes you into a whole new atmosphere. There are plenty of places to hang out. I chose to be a barfly and assemble my tour on what this venue has to offer. Arriving a little early, the cozy and comfort of your friendly bartenders will pour you outstanding drinks. I’ve been on a crazing of cider lately, but was amused to drink some Angry Orchard on tap. Hmmmm, pour a little ice in it will ya? When the first band was about to perform, a walk down past the pool table lies ahead a decent lifted stage. The sound engineer, lighting and set up crew professional tuned a wonderful experience of what live rock performances sound like– loud, electrifying and groovy. Shout out to the llamadors, Heavyweight Champions and I Wish I for a great performance. I gotta save that story for another function. Go here. Simple as that. The fat: Decent drinks, great atmosphere. The skinny: Get here early to avoid cover charge.

I would never expect this place to actually host a concert. From the outside, it certainly doesn’t look like it has the room. When you walk in, however, they managed to make an outdoor expansion to accommodate and it holds a decent amount of people. Mixed drink prices are favorable, beer prices are what you’d expect. Staff was pretty friendly. I did, however, have to play«sound guy» at one point as the employee who should have been running the board, had stepped away mid set. I’m sure the two emcee’s trying to rap into muted mic’s appreciated my assist. Cool spot that’s far enough away from the college area that you won’t have to worry about too many amature hour idiots.

I was actually really impressed with this place. My husband and I tend to not do the whole bar/club on Friday/Saturday night thing because we’re old folks and hate not being able to have a conversation over loud music and gaggles of drunk people. The only reason we decided to hit this spot on a Saturday night was because our friend was down from Ventura County and he was DJing at Til Two that night. We arrived about 9PM and found a great parking spot along the side of the club and had no trouble grabbing a few stools at the bar. They have a decent craft beer selection on tap(we went with Green Flash West Coast IPA) and Netflix was playing on the TV behind the bar. As I settled in with my drink I started checking the place out for real. Yes, it’s a bit… dingy? But it has a lot of character. I love all the vintage clocks behind the bar and the place has a definite cool vibe that I really appreciated. It wasn’t trying too hard to be hip, it just was. I also started checking out the rest of the clientele and was impressed with the diversity of the people in there, and well, the serious lack of PB bros high-fiving each other and doing push-ups or whatever. Everyone in Til Two was super chill and even had some fashion sense. Imagine that! We ended up staying for a couple hours, just catching up with our friend at the bar before his set. They did end up turning the music in the back room up, but we were still able to talk(albeit in louder tones than we normally would) and have an enjoyable conversation over all that. People definitely started pouring in around 10PM and by the time we left around 1130PM, the place was jammed full of people. When we left our seats at the bar, a stampede of people went for them. I didn’t check out the back room at all, but it seemed roomy enough for dancing or whatever the kids are doing these days. There was also an area between the bar and the back room where it looked like some artists were selling prints or posters or something creative and awesome. Overall a great place and both my husband and myself felt very comfortable there. It had more of the«LA vibe» we’re used to and enjoy. It’s a little out of our way, but I would definitely come back and try one of those weird Yoohoo specialty drinks.
