I don’t know why I used to avoid this place. I thought it was a Hooters kind of place I guess. I work a block away, and recently starting going to the Tilted Kilt downtown because a friend of mine has a whiskey company and this is one of the few places that carries his awesome whiskey(Henebery Whiskey). The girl at the bar is the sweetest gal ever… named Mandy. She used to post on social media letting us know when she was there, now it’s kind of hit or miss when we go to see her behind the bar. The service isn’t ever terrible, but going there we usually look for Mandy; more than a pretty face, she’s a great conversationalist! Another server we like there is Taylor, but we haven’t seen her around much lately. That’s probably what’s missing from places like Hooters, awesome servers that take time to learn your name and remember what you like! These servers treat us pretty well, so we’ll keep going back. I definitely go here for the staff as opposed to the food – though I eat here quite a bit, so foods definitely good! Five stars for the awesome staff!

The Kilt is like my favorite place to shoot pool. The service is always really good, they have trivia night on Wednesday, the radio station was there giving out tickets during Thursday night football and their food is decent. Their wings are legit, the spicy mother cluckin chicken is good, the nachos are pretty basic but you get free nachos when you check in on Unilocal. They also have a jukebox so you can play the music you want to hear. They have a happy hour too… oh and the women are in kilts… and by kilts, I mean plaid mini skirts and half shirts.

The waitress tried to keep my friend’s credit card!!! She did not return his credit card with the check and disappeared. When we finally found her again after 15 minutes, she spent a minute searching the floor and table, then remembered that she had placed it in her OWN wallet; a velcro, tri-fold wallet that she had in her pocket. This was discussed with the manager who defended his«best employee» rather than trying to actually rectify the situation. To Unilocal I go! I can overlook the absolutely terrible service(asked 3 times for drink), ridiculously long wait time(2 hours) and mediocre food, but when the employees are pocketing the customer’s credit cards, it’s time to speak out.

Had an awesome lunch here today! Our bartender Denna was very attentive to my group and was very professional! Much better than the Mission Valley location for sure!

Ordered the Irish Nachos and they were pretty bad. You could tell that the oil they were fried in needed to be changed. After eating some of them I had to stop eating because my stomach was upset. I had to finish the night by drinking seltzer water. So disappointed!!!

This is one of my favorite sports bars downtown. They mail out coupons if you’re a downtown resident which always keeps me coming back. The space is huge and spread out with a ton of TV’s to keep you occupied. Beer selection is decent enough and the food is a lot better than say a Hooter’s.

Welp, these guys are thieves and imbeciles. I gave my to go order over the phone, wings and celery. They asked my phone number. I arrived and… * It was $ 13.50. for WINGS. to go?! * The bimbo waitress didn’t give me all my change from the 20 I handed her. Decided to give herself a tip. Nice job hiring thieves, Tilted Kooks. * They got my order wrong, I said celery and it came with fries. At no time did they call my number to say they were out of celery and offer me something else. Why did you ask for my phone number? So you could spam my phone with texts or sell my info to 3rd parties? * They couldn’t find a bag for my to-go order so I had to carry the clamshell and try not to spill everything for several blocks. * The wings themselves tasted like shit. It was amateur hour for their wings. Wings n things makes way better wings for HALF the price, and nobody decides to tip themselves with your change. * About the only thing they did right was a generous portion of wings and ranch. But the wings were not worth what I paid, so who cares about a decent portion. * I threw the LIMP moist fries I got which I didn’t ask for away. Tilted Kilt sucks. And from the 430 other reviews here, having such a prominent location next to the stadium, beautiful girls inside, and not being able to pull off a better rating, the owner apparently sucks too because they do nothing about the establishment. Thanks for ruining lunch, Tilted Kooks…

Got here and it took our food well over half an hour to get out from the kitchen, and when it did, it was absolutely tasteless. No seasoning in sight, not a drop of spice or flavor and what has to be the worst patty melt I’ve ever tasted. On top of it all, sending it back to the kitchen would be a waste of time, since we haven’t seen our waitress in about 20 minutes. Never again.

Great bar food. We started off with some tasty irish nachos and some coca colas. I ordered a side salad which was delicious and the munster burger with garlic fries served with a pickle. The burger was gigantic and fresh. The garlic fries were awesome but would have wanted more served. Seems like a great place to watch a game. It looked like they had an awesome beer menu. The service was fast and friendly.

Came in for a quick bite to eat. Word to the wise park at the library, validate your ticket for 2 free hours, and walk over here. Anyway, I got great service at the bar area from Christina. I was checked up on frequently and she was very accomodating. Seeing this is built right next to Petco this place can get busy at certain times of the day especially during the baseball season. Seems a bit smaller then the Mission Valley kilt but that’s not exactly a bad thing as the service seemed a bit more quicker and efficient. Obviously great for sports and drinking beer!

This place sucks. Food menu is slim and what we had was horrible. Drinks were watered down and the pour was short. The wait staff was not up to par and customer service was clearly not a priority. This place clearly rides on its name and due to being in a tourist location it keeps getting customers. So guys and gals my suggestion don’t waste your money on something you could get at a McDonalds!!! Bottom line is San Diego is full of great restaurants. Walk a block or two over to the gas lamp and get great food and live music!

I don’t come here for the food… let’s be honest! LOL The beer and other things not needed to mention are either cold or HOTTT! The Irish Nachos are filling. Always a good time at the Tilted Kilt before or after a Padres Game. Parking is avaialable on the streets or in paid garages… make this your place to pregame!

I guarantee that there are people I know who will wonder why I went here in the first place. I guarantee that there will be people who will not be happy with my review. But I also guarantee that unless I’m dragged by my hair, I won’t be back to this place because I know in my gut, I did not like the food here. I don’t have hair by choice(I shave my head) so you know what that means. However, when you’re with friends, you go with the consensus and the consensus was the Tilted Kilt. So, that’s where we ended up for dinner this past Sunday. Yes, I’m a single, straight guy who doesn’t mind looking at eye candy. However, I do love food and I prefer an awesome meal over some scantily clad servers, any day, every day. Anyway — our server provided good customer service. She was friendly and met our requests in a timely and friendly manner. However, for me, the cooks didn’t do too well with their cooking. I ordered a mushroom burger. Comes with onions and a side of fries. Too many onions and not enough mushrooms no cheese. See pic. The burger was not prepared medium like I asked however, it wasn’t burnt nor too well done so I didn’t mention it to our server. The fries were too well done too. My order was not a special request — it was a menu item so I was a somewhat disappointed that the cooks wouldn’t have their process dialed in. Especially for their fries. I ended up asking for and dipping my fries in ranch. Works and worked for me. This time. I do not and did not expect gourmet quality food. After all, it’s a pub that serves food by servers aka eye candy. However, I feel if you’re going to ask how you want your burger, then make sure it’s prepared as its asked for. Otherwise, don’t ask and just state on the menu that our burgers are served as they are. With the ever improving quality of food these days — I hope the cooks here better their game before this place becomes more of a joke to some or extinct altogether.

This place is all about the location… I have caught myself here at TK a couple of times only when the Padres are in town and I either get downtown early or leave the game early. The food here is not exactly spectacular, but it’s also not half bad, thus the 3 star rating. The ambiance is a bit on the tacky side but the bar and TVs are plentiful and you can actually get great viewing angles of the TVs from near any spot in the restaurant. The wait staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The grub just lacks originality and is primarily bar food. My recommendation would be not to make this your primary dining option for the evening, rather a stop in your destination with an appetizer and ice cold beer. The people watching here is actually pretty dang good. Pros– Location Beer Service TVs Before and after the game People watching Cons– Plain menu Parking Crowded Lots of drunkies

Stopped in before the Padres opening game. This place is packed wall to wall. Lots of fun and everyone was in a great mood. Bartenders were non stop — literally no rest for them and they stayed happy and efficient. I will be back before the next game I go to — because I had fun and great service

Wow. The things you see and hear when you sit at the bar… Apparently the servers meet up at the bar to talk crap about their customers with the bartender? Being a former server/bartender myself, this is unacceptable!!! If you need to blow off steam, go in the back and do it!!! The server was speaking so loudly, the entire bar could hear it. How embarrassing for that customer! My jaw literally dropped. I give 2 stars, because my food wasn’t awful. But I really expected more of a genuine Irish pub feel. Not hooters with kilts. Oh well. I guess this is one of those cases where I should have read the reviews before I came. My bad.
