My usual go-to is the $ 2.99 slice of cheese + can of soda deal, and it’s always delicious! I’ve also had the Fat Tony’s Pizza(Italian sausage, meatballs, ricotta, parmesan and mozzarella cheese) and the Skinny Tony Pizza(tomato, mushroom, onion, black olive, green pepper, garlic and mozzarella), and both are excellent as well. I live nearby and go there far more frequently than I care to admit, and I’m never disappointed.

Kinda weird that they would think that someone would want these burnt garlic knots!!!

Came here on a fundraising day so it was actually super busy. Their happy hour is mon through thurs 4−8pm. We got the 12in cheese pizza($ 5) 10 piece chicken wings $ 5 and the garden salad $ 5. It was enough to feed two people. Theyre really nice too but the wait was quite long because of the fundraiser. They have beer on tap, and plenty of seating inside. Their pizza was delicious! Wings were a bit small but for $ 5 i would say they were pretty good. Salad was superbig too. Really good experience! I hope the next time i go, there isnt too long of a wait. The only thing i would change about this place is their tables and etc– everything looks super old.

Love their pizza and garlic knots! Super addicting. Had the meat calzone once as well and it was STUFFED with meat! They’re super quick, even when I order on Eat24, I can usually pick it up at least 10 – 15 minutes early(mind you this is during the weekdays.)

After having a great experience last time I ordered again tonight on a Tuesday. This time around it was not a good experience as my pizza took almost two hours to arrive. I ordered on Eat 24 and messaged them three times for updates and no word back. When the pizza came the guy said it was crazy, but on a Tuesday? Eat 24 blew it!

We got a olive pizza, dry rub wings and s salad. The kids liked the pizza because the sauce they use is mild. The wigs were well cooked and tasted good. The salad was basic but perfect for us. It’s hot inside with no AC but you can order it to go and enjoy elsewhere. The price was right for what we ordered. The pizza was crispy perfect. There is better pizza out there but this was a basic good.

Good pizza, crust was crispy on the outside and chewy inside. Would have liked a little more toppings on the meat pizza, but it was good. Service was great, very friendly, and pizza was ready fast.

The lasagna is made with gyro meat? I searched all the layers of lasagna, hoping to find meat, all i found was one layer with small torn up pieces of GYROMEAT? Without a doubt the worst imitation of lasagna i ever tried to eat. A salesman was there during our lunch, and I heard him order«beef» but it’s NOT in the lasagna. The salad was cold, but edges already turning brown, and served with the wangy bottled ranch dressing. Ugh. Skip this place if you want lasagna.

Good food. Good pizza. Fun little pizza dive shop. Some games and a few tvs. Very small. Some outside seating. I had the pastrami sandwich and it was good, although different than a regular pastrami. I think it had lettuce and pickles and tomatoes.

I need to totally recommend this pizza :) I enjoy pizza so much and the mom and pop feel of the shop is amazing too. The slice of pizza deal with a can of soda is amazing for less then $ 5. And the variety in there menu is gonna make me come here more often and the portion of the food is big so it’s worth the drive and your buck. Will definitely be coming here often :)

LOVETONY’S PIZZA! COMEHEREFORHAPPYHOUR! 4−8pm Monday –Thursday $ 512′ cheese pizza $ 510 pieces chicken wings $ 2 beers My friend and I went here for the first time this week and we split a pizza and a plate of wings! It was sooooo good! The people who work here are nice! The lady who made the pizza and wings is so sweet! The place isn’t crowded at all. Their portions are large enough for two people sharing. It’s a good idea to order a few items from the happy hour deals and take some home for lunch the rest of the week! I think I’m going to make this my usual pizza place! YEAH! They also sell tiramisu and canoli! I think it’s $ 2.95?Canolis are hard to find!

I came here with my girlfriend in search of gluten free pizza, and we were not disappointed! This is the only place I’ve been in SD so far that serves big NY style gluten free pizzas; on top of that, the crust was fantastic. It has just the right balance of being chewy and crispy on the bottom, something I haven’t experienced elsewhere. The price was very reasonable. When we came at dinnertime on Friday, bottles of Michelob Ultra and Bud were only $ 2 a piece, adding to the sweetness of the deal! The ambiance of the place is laid back and homey, but not dirty. To the others saying they only play Fox News: They let customers use the remote and change the channel! Just ask for it. The bathroom is also super clean with all the automatic modern conveniences. They have a bottled spring water dispenser! The owner, who took our order, was very friendly and welcoming. I’d say this is a great place to come with friends or family and just hang out. It’s not fancy, but it’s great for what it is — a hole in the wall family style pizza place. Next time, I’ll see if they can make me their monster 28 inch pizza gluten free. :)

Not sure what part of the East coast some of these folks are from, but myself being from the Bronx, real NY pizza is thin crust, crunchy and light, yummy bubbly cheese and here’s the kicker that makes it real, you have to fold the slice and hold it up to see how much grease runs onto the paper plate… This poor place had NONE of these characteristics. Pizza was thick, doughy and dry… and NO grease. All well, bank to Bronx Pizza to get my needs met

Great pizza! We have ordered from them several times and the pizzas are always delicious. Tonight we got the wrong size delivered, but after making an ass out of myself and having them hang up on me, they sent a duplicate pizza to make up for the mistake. Well done pizza from a nice family run business.

The eponymous Tony seems to like Fox News as that was what was playing on the TV as we sat in his restaurant. I’m used to watching Nancy Grace in the McDonald’s near UCSD, but I feel like Tony is making a bold political statement in the context of the particular neighborhood of Clairemont. Fox News isn’t really the sort of thing that one turns on for background noise. As much as I may disagree with his apparent political leanings, there are certain aspects of pizza design that he and I can see more eye to eye on, particularly his construction of a good doughy crust. I also like the overall substantial, hearty build. That said, the rest of the pizza agreed with me about as much as Rush Limbaugh given that the meat toppings, cheese, and sauce all tasted rather bland. The side of pizza knots impressed me more in so far as they took the good parts of the pizza(the dough) and left out everything else. Summary: Fair but not very balanced.

Wish I could say something more clever or creative, but it’s hard when the food here is just average. Although the pizza’s crust was light and crispy, I found the toppings to be pretty run-of-the-mill. If I could pick one highlight, it would be the pizza knots, which were so soft and doughy, but could have used a little bit more garlic flavor and butter. The side of marinara sauce was served COLD! It tasted like it came straight out of the refrigerator. It was a rude shock to my taste buds. In the end, I probably won’t be back anytime soon given the plethora of other pizza joints in the neighborhood.

I dont see why you’d get pizza anywhere else im SD besides here if traditional east coast pizza is what youre looking for. The only other place thats come close to matching east coast pizza is Bronx pizza downtown but ill probably never eat there again after discovering this place. Awesome food, service, beverages, alcohol, covered patio, games, and prices. Youd be dumb to go anywhere else. So fat and happy right now :)

Went to Tony’s Sunday with my sister and 89 year old mother. It’s always hard to get our mother to try any new restaurants, but to our delight she liked her chicken parm. That’s high praise right there. My sister and I shared a pizza and salad and had enough to take home for the next day. The portion of the salad and the 14″ pizza was more than enough for both of us. The pizza ingredients were fresh not out of a can or frozen. We got the vegetarian. Next time I want to try one of the subs. I used my Local Flavor voucher and that made the trip even better. Definitely would recommend Tony’s. P. S saw them preparing the giant pizza, It’s Huge!!!

This place has a nice patio. It is also a nice place to treat someone to a meal.(Hint: Maybe even after some cake!) What to Order: A slice of cheese pizza and a garden salad, which includes a drink. The serving feels like a three course meal. This makes it enjoyable for a date! Fancy! The garden salad is truly satisfying. Fresh Vegetables with a dressing of your choice! For some reason, I love the slice of cheese pizza here. Anyway, in total for a date, it is no more than $ 10! so yeah!

The restaurant itself is poorly managed. There are broken arcade machines and you can tell there isn’t a lot of pride in keeping the place up to date. The pizza is just OK. The portion sizes are great but that doesn’t make up for the simple fact that their product just isn’t too good. Their target market though isn’t going to pay for anything better than OK pizza. In summary, if you want cheap OK pizza, Tony’s may work for you. If you want a great pizza, steer clear.

After ordering from here two times, and asking to add jalapeños both times, and not receiving jalapeños both times, this place deserves a one star. How hard is it to put one additional topping? I won’t be ordering a third time here.

I love Fat Tony’s just moved into the neighborhood, and have been eating there maybe 10 times a month. The pizza is as good as it gets. Surprisingly this pizza place has fantastic philly cheesesteak sandwiches. Even more surprising for me is their salads are fresh, cold, and awesome the large antipasto salad is awesome and the prices on everything at this place are low. Grandbabies love the happy hour small pizza, like 20 chicken nuggets and a bunch of other stuff five bucks. Lastly, I am a big fan of anchovies and they have anchovies maybe I am just a little freaky, but and anchovy pizza with white sauce is killer. So go in have a good time Tony’s is the bomb ass pizza place!

First time coming to this place and my family enjoyed ourselves! Came during happy hour and got $ 5 pizza, $ 5 wings, and like $ 8 cheese steak combo with fries and can of soda. Food was good, prices were great and nice Clairemont locals enjoying themselves. Will come again!

Pizza was ok. We got a pepperoni pizza. The crust was on the sweeter side and the sauce tasted more like tomato paste. $ 14.03 to pick it up. My dad ordered it. Asked if there was parmesean. Yes in the box. Got home. 1 package of parm and 1 red chili flakes. I HATE chili flakes. I called them up. Their policy is 1 cheese and one chili flakes per order. 8 slices of pizza and 1 package of cheese!!! WOW!!! I threw away the chili flakes! WASTEDMONEY on their part! Meh, I’ll try them again for another item but you have to ask for cheese.

I came in here and ordered the Fat Tony’s 14″ pizza and a Philly sub with garlic, mushroom, onions. I gotta say that the sub was probably one of the better rolls I’ve had on the west coast, ever since moving out of SF and their Phat Phil’s or Busters. It was a large amount of food, piping hot, and I’d definitely order that again. The pizza was also delicious. I wouldn’t say that it was greasy or bland like some of the people mentioned here. However, the ricotta cheese was an interesting addition that made it taste like a pizza lasagna or ravioli. The service was fast. I came in for pick up after their estimated 20 mins wait time, and they already have it ready for us. You have my business!

I will not order from here again. I had ordered from here, must have been, over a year ago and I rememebr it beng ok so we ordered from here last night as a break from my favs, Sorrentino’s and Giovanni’s, and I was very disappointed. We order the 2 medium 1 topping special, one pepperoni and one ham. The ham pizza was burnt and tasted like cardboard with tomatoe sauce. The pepperoni was not burnt, but it had no flavor and was cold. I guess i should have just stuck with my favs!

First things first Great Pizza with flavor and the wings are not tiny. Good size portions. This is my first time here and it is very affordable. I was not going to come here because of the dumb review a guy on here left about soupy pizza, but I’m glad my husband talked me into trying it out. The bathroom is clean and I will definitely be coming back thank you for the great food keep up the good work.

I loved tony’s when it was called FAT Tony’s. They had some issues in the past but have stepped up and I can tell you, they really do care about thier customers. I recently had coached two soccer teams and held both teams after season party at Ton’y. I met with them a week prior and was given great suggestions on serving amounts and menu item selections. Very simply if I would have tried to do it with out talking to them I would have been way over budget and my guests — about 30 of us, would not had the great selection that was presented to us. Also, the guys there knew I was on a budget and made things easier on me. Salads, pizza, cheese fries, hot wings and even some specialty items due to a few dietary restrains were all served fresh and prompt. This IS my go to place for all my future group gatherings… I didnt even mention the fact that they make a darn fine philly cheese steak!
