Emi-san has been my hairstylist for more than fifteen years. I love the way she does my hair! Every time I go there, I feel refreshed and renewed. Thank you, Emi-san, for always making me smile!

I don’t like getting my hair cut because I have way too many traumatic childhood experiences of going to the Asian barber and getting a straight bob as directed by my mother. When I heard about Tomo from my aunts and cousins and had visual proof of her styling, I decided to schedule an appointment and get it done, I don’t know about anyone else at the studio. What I love about Tomo is that she is Japanese and has experience with cutting Asian hair as well as knowledge of popular styles. I brought in a picture of what I thought would look nice and she used the style to influence her own version that would suit my face better. It looks absolutely fabulous after she blowdries and styles it, explaining how to do everything as she does it. The only problem is that I usually can’t replicate it at home, so if you know you’re not going to be waking up earlier to straighten your hair and curl it every day, let her know so that she can style a less high-maintenance style for you. Another thing that I like about Tomo’s abilities is how my hair grows out after one of her haircuts — it still looks great. I wasn’t nervous the first time I went to her, which is a nice change. I really should have gone to Tomo instead of Ulta for my last haircut, but there was a deal at Ulta that my cousin wanted to try with me — it was overpriced and we both felt like we’d only had our hair trimmed. Tomo’s cuts are about $ 30 – 35; they include a shampoo, cut, and style.

I had my hair done here for my Coming-of-Age ceremony(Japanese tradition), and Tomo did a really awesome job!!! My hair looked completely amazing after an hour and a half of hard work by Tomo(mad props to her) and she even trimmed up my bangs so that they would photograph a little better. She always asked for my input every step of the way to make sure it was exactly how I wanted it, even down to how the flowers were going to be positioned to flow with my hair(which she curled ^_^). Great service, and I definitely recommend these ladies for all occasions!

I have been going to get my haircut there for the last 2 – 3 years already. The salon is quite small and a bit old fashioned. Half of the hairstylists are Japanese and the other half is American. I get my hair cut by Emi, she’s very friendly. The haircut is $ 30 for men. It’s a bit pricey but she’s very good, so I don’t mind. Don’t be fooled by the retro style of the salon, Emi and Tomo are good at what they do. Check it out!

Ok ya i get my haircut here. It’s small and looks like a place where the Golden Girls would come and hang out(Totally awesome!). I trust these people. It’s not just a haircut, it’s more of an experience. Ask for Emi or Tomo, the two sweetest people you’ll meet. They’re Japanese and their English isn’t very good but it’s part of the charm! I love talking about Japan with them. The only downside is that haircuts are pricey around $ 25. I don’t know if that’s expensive for guys, but always a nice job.
