Amazing experience. Surprised my girlfriend here for her birthday with friends and family. The staff from the preparation(F&B Supervisors) to the service was friendly and met every request I threw out. By sending ahead menus to prepare meals ahead of time, to corking an important bottle of wine for us, this Food and Beverage Staff is undeniably one of the best to work with for your private event or even a simple dinner following a wonderful spa treatment next door. We started out with a chocolate and wine pairing from local chocolatier Chao with a selection of three chocolates and three wines to cheese platters that had all of our guests digging in to pair their wines with the floral arrangement of the milky delicacies that lay before us. The dinner options varied plate to plate, I dug into my fish plate while tuning out the world around me while sneaking bites from my girlfriends plate of grilled steak for the quick snap of flavor in the back of your jaw bone to bring you back into reality. The price point is perfect. The service is perfect. The food is perfect. We will be back. We will recommend this hidden gem to many friends and family members in the future.

So this is where the upscale nature of the Estancia really pays off. Here is a place where you can have some nice wines and some small plates with in a quieter setting. There were three of us and we each had different wines by the glass and there was no disappointment. With my Cabernet i had a small beef short rib plate that was tender and tasty and accompanied by kettle chips. Just enough for a light meal. This is a nice switch up from the big restaurant deal. Just what I needed during a long travel swing.

nice environment. great wine selection. i’m a fan of the house champagne. the food is good too. had a polenta appetizer that was yummy. a little off the beaten path for a quiet time(except of occasional UCSD business school gatherings).

wine list changes by the season and they have a build-your-own sliders menu! nice ambiance inside, fire pit outside(: don’t think it’s part of the la area chain
