Well, it just so happens the service was so bad at this establishment, that they have since gone out of business. My hope is the owner will rethink how she handles her customers and just maybe she’ll have better success in the future.

So I had high expectations, but this place was super hard to get into because of its location on Friars. Then to top it off, it was actually closed during normal business hours. This place is probably pretty good, but the experience was frustrating.

The customer service at this particular location was about as terrible as it gets. The girl that was working was rude, loud, and inconsiderate. My fiancé and I were going to grab food and look at the cars next door. Before we could even get out of the car, she started screaming at us about parking. Long story short, terrible customer service. Stay as far away as possible!!!

My chamango was so bad. There wasn’t even any mango smoothie in it. And it was so expensive. I’m so sad. :(

If you like ice-flavored smoothies then this place is for you. Both of our smoothies were bland, plus we waited over 20mins for them with nobody else there.

Since this place is close to work I visit it more than I should. Trying to be better Monday through Friday, I hit this place for a «healthier option» instead of the taco shop or burger joint in the neighborhood. I usually get the acai bowls because they are quick and easy. I have had the fruit salad as well, it was ok. Not my first place to go but it is close to work and I’m not hungry so it works out. I’d recommend calling in the order as well so it’s done quickly if you need to get in and out during your lunch hour. It could take a little long to get your food since they make everything to order, it’s a good thing though. The prices aren’t too bad either since I usually just get an acai bowl even though all the smoothies and juices are always so tempting… but I need to chew something for lunch, shakes won’t work for this girl! I’ll continue giving them my business as I continue this trek for a healthier and cheesier me ;)

Place was empty, I walked into this place and had to great them instead of it being the other way around. Right away as I waited for my food I Unilocaled this place to see if I was the first one to experience this, but I definitely wasn’t. Food is okay, good for something fast. I would definitely have came back if it wasn’t for the horrible customer service. So sad they lose clients because of that and not their food. Oh well I hope they read this so they can fix the problem.

3 stars because… It wasn’t so busy only 2 other people in there. There were 3 workers. It took nearly 30 minutes for them to make a pineapple orange juice. I didn’t give 1 star because the lady told me I could call in ahead and they’ll have it ready. I guess I will call in 30 minutes ahead next time. The juice was basic. No complaints. But they do have a lot of competition because I could get the same thing across the street at Jamba Juice in about 3 minutes. Maybe I’ll be back here when I’m not in a hurry. But I’m mostly in a hurry because it is on my way to work! Oh well I tried!

I was really craving a fruit salad, so I decided to go to this place. Despite the fact that people say that the service is slow, they have good food. I feel bad because there were only two workers, and there was a «Help Wanted» sign, so it’s no wonder it’s a little slow. I mean – at Frutiza, there are quite a few workers, and it’s slow… Checking in gets you 15% off your order, so make sure to take advantage of that! It’s a pretty small, yet spacious place. There’s even a little area to wash your hands. When I went, I got a small fruit salad and a small watermelon fruit juice water. It totaled to $ 8 something, but after my discount, it was about $ 7 plus some change. The only thing I wish is that there was mango inside of my fruit salad. The watermelon fruit juice water was really refreshing! Beyoncé’s «Drunk In Love» started playing in my head. I might’ve gone at the wrong time because the display case where they hold the ice cold beverages was not working. They were kind enough to give cups filled with ice to compensate, though. Overall, it was good and they were friendly. I even got a 20% off flier!

Unassuming store front with some impressively delicious acai bowls. The place is a small shop(not the most welcoming décor or staff) and the service was super slow… I was there with just two other people in the whole shop and we waited over 15+ minutes for smoothies! But, they were with the wait– I loved their tropical acai bowl!

Maybe I didn’t order the correct thing but I didn’t think the Hawaiian torta was all that good. This place is down the street from my work. They service fruit salads, juices, smoothies, salads, wraps and of course tortas. First of all the cashier looked like she wanted to be anywhere else but work. I don’t really care about service at these places The Hawaiian torta came with adobada, ham, pineapple, lettuce, avocado and tomato. First of all there were only 4 small pieces of canned pineapple. The adobada was so dry and many pieces were just fat. I don’t mind a little mayo on my sandwiches but there was a huge slather I had to wipe most of it off. Apparently the Cubana is the torta to get and my coworker really enjoyed his. The torta bread is soft and the lady making the sandwiches looked really nice. They even have a 15% off Unilocal check on offer Come back again? Maybe to get a juice or a different type of torta

Yummy healthy salads and fruit bowls. Reasonably priced too! Easy to get to for that quick tasty but healthy meal when you are on the go. Much better than a drive through gut bomb.

Do you like it raw? Should I get a juicer? I dunno. I’m slowly trying to be healthier. One small sip at a time. After checking out a couple of the raw drink options, I’m still on the fence about the whole meal replacement juicing plan. For me, being fit takes effort and focus regarding diet and exercise, and I am unbalanced and undisciplined in those areas. That’s where Tropical Fruit Paradise helps because they have an assortment of fresh fruit & veggie beverages that I’m figuring out. Drinking a salad is an acquired taste. Personally, I’m not a fan of choking down what looks like a cup of lawn clippings. It’s green and great for you, but if the healthy stuff tasted like candy, then I imagine more people would partake. You can always ask about modifying the recipe a bit to please your palate and they’re willing to make some changes so that raw juice noobs like myself can avoid buyer’s remorse. The place can be easy to miss since it’s in a small, corner strip mall next to the car wash and used car lot along Friars Rd opposite Black Angus. Parking can be a challenge since the lot is smallish and accessible only from the west. It’s bright and clean with tables and chairs inside and a couple of seats outside. I prefer sitting outside because the room can be a sauna. Another bonus, I suppose, if you’re looking to sweat out toxins. The hospitality vibe seems to lean towards a to-go joint. I think some customers would be happier to enjoy their snacks there if the room wasn’t uncomfortably warm and if there were available restrooms. They were pretty strict about enforcing the posted sign when a paying customer asked to use the bathroom. I haven’t had a chance to try their salads or sandwiches yet, and I definitely want to check out the tropical fruit smoothies that people are sweet on. It’ll be my reward for working through the healthier side of the drink menu first. For now, I’m treading lightly on the raw menu and taking it to-go because I need the sanctuary of an accessible comfort room when the cleansing effect kicks in. Here’s to your good health!

I am currently obsessed with Açaí bowls and fruit salads so I was so happy to find this place so close to home and work! First, this place has something for everyone. Salads, tortas, wraps, smoothies, milkshakes, fruit salads, Açaí, and a ton more. The fruit salad is my go– to, it is so yummy and super filling! Full of strawberries, bananas, grapes, cantaloupe, watermelon, pears, and pineapple, topped with cottage cheese, coconut, raisins, granola and honey. The small is more than enough for one person. The Ultimate Summer Salad as a wrap was okay, but I wouldn’t get it again. The chicken tasted like microwaveable soggy chicken strips. But omg the Cubano Torta. Shutup. The hubs was BLOWNAWAY. I had a bite & It was seriously so good. You NEED to try it! We’ll be back!

I wish this place opened earlier!!! This place is right near my office, so convenience is a huge factor, but their juices and acai bowls are delish. If they opened earlier I would easily come 3 days a week because I hate having to clean my juicer. It’s probably better for my wallet that they don’t. Prices are not unreasonable, but expect to pay what you’d pay at starbucks. You’ll feel healthier here though, so it’s hard to complain. I haven’t had their tortas, but based on the pictures and how good their juices are, I can’t imagine them to be a bad choice.

Not sure why I didn’t come here sooner. I drive by it everyday. Maybe because I felt like I would be cheating on Señor Mangos. Its very similar and I’m always trying to find a healthier option for lunch. Great spot for smoothies, fruit salads, Tortas(yummy), acai. My only complaint is the parking. Its a great spot if you are in the area and want something fresh.

After driving by this place daily for about 5 months now I had a 20% off coupon card so made the choice to stop in once and for all to try it out. I was glad I did because what I got was an experience with fruit like never before scene or ingested! I ordered both the fruit salad and the«Escamocha» which look very much the same but are different in that the fruit salad is cottage cheese and granola, raisins with apples, bananas, watermelon, honeydew, strawberries, pear and pineapple, all for $ 7 for the large size! The Escamocha is vanilla yogurt with watermelon, apple, grapes, honeydew, pineapple, strawberries and pear with marshmallows. Also just $ 7 for the large. Both were so good! Hard to think they are more or less good for you in the end! I had them as my after workout snack along with a protein shake and man did it hit the spot! Had it in the freezer at work for a couple hours before hand so I could have it nice and cold right when I was done and it worked perfectly! Fresh, cold, natural, nutritious fruit at its best! These guys know what their doing when it comes to the fruit based items they have. I cannot wait to expand out and try the other smoothies, wraps, tortas they have on menu now as well.

I’ve come to love the Mangoneada and Tamarindo smoothies. They are both unique and different and have their very own San Deigo /Mexican tropical feel to them. The Mangoneada Smoothie has an sweet orange and mango base and a boba straw covered with a «tamarind candy» which gives it a slight salty, sour, spicy counter balance. While the Tamarindo has a semi sweet /tart tamarind base as well as the tamarind candy covered straw. Like it sweeter? Leave the tamarind candy straw as is, if you want more of that salty spicy contrast, stir it around to get more of the tamarind candy into your drink. You decide what’s best. Both these smoothies are refreshing, unique, and a new twist on the corporate brand smoothies that you’re used to.
