I’m a difficult hair client as I have a hard time communicating what I want. She is patient and listens well. Every single time I’ve been to see Tonia I’ve left happy, looking a whole lot better than before I got there! As long as Tonia is doing hair I’ll be her client. When I met Tonia I found out she does perms, which is something very few hairdressers do anymore. I had my first appointment with her this past Saturday at which time she gave me a spiral perm. I couldn’t be happier. She did a beautiful job and I will be going back and referring all my friends to her.

My daughter is VERY picky about her hair, her style, her look and Tonia was the perfect fit! She took her time, discussed options and what look would be best for the new acting path that my daughter is pursuing. Loved the laid back yet professional feel of her salon. I was in San Diego for three months recently and will be back again next fall for three months. When we hit the road as full-​time RVers, my friends asked how I would find a doctor. My reply was: That will be easy. The real question is who will do my hair? When we arrived in San Diego, I was in desperate need of a cut. I got a referral to T’s Hair, took a deep breath, and made an appointment. Bingo! Tonia changed up my style ever so slightly and the result was a really cute do and lots of compliments. I went back for another cut and to get highlights and it was the best highlighting job I ever had. My hair was super soft and shiny and the highlights were perfectly placed for the natural look I wanted. All this in a very pretty and comfortable salon with the highest level of personal attention and hospitality.

I’ve been seeing Tonia (THE T in T’s Hair) since 1994 and wouldn’t trust my tresses with anyone else!
My hair is naturally curly but I’ve been straightening it for about 5 years now. Initially we used relaxers to straighten it but for the past few years we’ve been using a Keratin treatment which is better for the health of my hair.
For a number of years I got highlights in the summer & «lowlights» in the winter months and repeated the process a number of times. Sadly, with age has come sparklers (grey hairs) so now I get my hair colored on a regular basis.
Tonia is extremely knowledgeable about hair! She understands how different types of hair respond to various treatments and knows how different treatments will positively or negatively react with each other. While I’m pretty conservative (translation — boring) with my hair style, I’ve seen Tonia give other clients the most cutting-​edge haircuts!
I have no hesitation referring someone to T’s Hair in San Diego.

I’ve been here three times and each time I’ve loved my haircut afterwards. Tonya has a beautiful studio and is very friendly and knowledgeable about hair. She does wonders with my curls and tells me special ways to treat it. I’m a devotee. $ 65 for a woman’s cut, $ 75 the first time but she has a Unilocal special that makes it only $ 50! She also has massage chairs for the hair washing and offers interesting beverages like several varieties of hard cider, in addition to the usual wine and soft drinks. She gives you a ton of time and attention – each of my appointments has lasted an hour, though part of that may be our fascinating conversations. She’s a wonder.

I’ve been going to Tonia for about 10 years. As you can see, I’m hooked. She was the first stylist ever to notice that I have naturally curly hair, and to design a cut to show it off. The results are fabulous. She is also tops with color. I refer everyone I know!

I posted this review on Savvy’s Hair Salon page before I noticed that T’s had its own Unilocal page, so am just re-​posting my review here.
I checked out Savvy after walking past it a bunch and finally went in today. It is now «T’s Hair salon & day spa of San Diego» and I had a GREAT haircut with Anthony. He spent a lot of time asking me questions about what I wanted and while I had a tough time explaining, he was super patient and kept asking me questions while he washed my hair. I ended up with a fabulous haircut that was EXACTLY what I wanted. I have tried two other salons in San Diego since July 2011 and am happy to say that I FINALLY have a place I feel comfortable going to.
