Vanish, Vanish, Vanish. Wow. Based on my previous review, it is a prime example of why drunk people shouldn’t write reviews. I recently went back(a lottt more sober than the first time) and wow. we were LITERALLY the only group there. The bouncers had to stoop so low as to lie to us about giving us free drinks to go in. Turns out it was more like buy one get one free. The place was completely empty. We got a couple of drinks and the bartenders were surprisingly rude to their only customers. I guess they have reason to be bitter, they are about to be jobless. I’m surprised this place even stays open with how unprofessional the whole establishment is.

Amazing this place has been around for as long as it has. Would give no stars if possible. I came here to support my friend’s fashion show and my friend was also spinning that night as well. Left because I got a headache from all the changes in the music and the smoke machines were killing my eyes(I wear contacts)!! Each time I tried to dance the music would change, thus making the crowd confused, offbeat and annoyed. The girl in the front who seemed that she had seen better days had an attitude when she checked us all in too… then it was the last straw when the owner started screaming at my friend who was spinning to play this music and that music… not an easy task for a DJ at times when yelled at on a whim. Booo… don’t waste your time here :( P. S. No credit cards accepted if your order is less than $ 20 at the bar FYI!

Although this Venue is fairly new and it’s location has some questionable history; VANISHSD is one of the sickest places to go for night life. The newly remodeled dance club boast a large selection of bottle services from wine to champaign, they carry everything. The sound system was incredible and the DJ played everything you want to here in an upscale night club. The staff was on point with great service and a can-do attitude. The door personnel created a safe environment allowing me and my friends to let loose and not worry about any negatives that can arise like other clubs in the area. The drinks are reasonably priced to go with their 5 star service and that alone is a reason to check out VANISHSD. They also have several nights to enjoy different genres of entertainment to include a COMEDY /Variety Show set to start on the 29th. I’m really looking forward to visiting VANISH again.

If you’re the owner or manager, I apologize for this review. I’m sure you’re trying, but here’s my opinion anyway. From the moment I walked into the place it felt like a high school dance. The sound system was terrible and terribly loud. I had genuine concern for my hearing in the place. The music did nothing to set the place apart from any other club. The DJ repeatedly tried to get the people hyped up, but it seemed more that he was trying to convince people they were having a good time than simply enhancing it. From the design, it was obvious it was built exclusively to be a dance club, which means it offers no escape from the ear-piercingly loud sound. Despite the irony of it being in the bottom floor of a building, I just couldn’t shake the feeling that I was in someone’s basement converted into a club. And to be honest, a person’s basement would have at least been quaint. Where I really got chafed was when I realized I was paying $ 10 a drink. I know of a dozen more happening places in the gaslamp that charge less. That’s why I packed up and headed to one. My recommendations for the business: Take advantage of the vast floor space. Make a designated area the dance floor, not the whole place. You want people to mix, not stagnate. Get a better sound system! Better sound is about quality, not volume. Turning it up, doesn’t make it sound any better. And in most cases, it makes it sound worse. My recommendations for potential customers: Bring ear plugs, a lack of concern for drink prices, and the desire to dance exclusively with the people you came with.

My group of friends stumbled into this place after the first club we went to on that Friday night, which was a bust. We decided to check it out because the promoters said that there was no cover charge. I guess they called is Vanish because it goes underground, but what it really means is that the crowd has VANISHed. It was sooooo dead… Cover: Free Décor: The place looked decent with places to sit even though you didn’t order bottle service. it looked like a cheaper version of clubs in LA. Music: Good blend of Hip-Hop, House, and Pop. Crowd: It looked like our group of friends were the youngest people in the club. Many of the people looked like they were in their 30s.

I was never expecting much from it and I wasn’t far off from the truth. Alcohol was mighty expensive and wasn’t that great, they played a lot of techno-like music that pretty much hurts my ear to listen or dance to. Barely anyone on the dance floor and a lot of old people. I was there with a group of friends for about an hour and we just bounced. I don’t think i’ll be coming back here anytime soon In my opinion, there are just too many better clubs out there to consider this place a choice. Oh, and this whole experience of mine was on a Saturday. That should be an important note ;)

VIP? more like«very impossible place» to fit in! dancing girls that are at best 6 outta 10, music was alright… Bars ok. and the liquor was decent mix ratio. Didnt stay there for long. Many other great places to go to.

Went down to San Diego to visit my boyfriend and we decided we wanted to go out and dance and happen to see Vanish. We were about to continue walking but decided to go inside and check it out. Music was GREAT, the crowd was cool, I can say I had a great night. Danced until I couldn’t walk back to my room. Only thing I’m not liking at this moment is all the pictures aren’t posted on their website or Facebook. They took many pictures of my boyfriend and I and I don’t see Not one… please post all your pictures not just only 33 of them. Thanks. But I do plan on going there again when I go to San Diego.

I’m not really into the club scene but was lured here for a girls night with my friends. We had a VIP table with bottle service. The service and mixer selection was excellent, but the liquor was overpriced. The music had it’s ups and downs and the DJ didn’t seem inclined to take requests, even though there weren’t many people there. The women’s bathroom was clean. Not really sure if this place has much chance for survival, given the competition.

Vanish is a whole in the wall and in the ground kind of place. Sad to say, Vanish please go somewhere and not come back. Luckily a friend of a friend got us in, but I wasn’t feeling it. The have dancers in an open cube in the middle of the dance floor, but it was such a slow Friday night those girls were dancing for no one’s entertainment. The woman restroom door is hella heavy too! Why?! So push hard when entering. Kudos to the bartenders. They’re very nice.

I went to Vanish last night and I had to say once I got there I did not think I was going to have a good time. It was around 11 pm and I could see people were leaving. We agreed to buy a bottle so we got in for free, but once I was in, I couldn’t believe their would be a cover for this place. It was basically empty. Their was was some sort of private party in the back and besides that the bar was kind of dead. Luckily we got Jen as our server for the evening, she was actually really cool and even brought a mixer and shot glasses to make some shots with our bottles. She’s also super hot which is always a plus. A little more girls started showing up and me and my friends were having an awesome time. Too bad a fight broke out between the two biggest groups of girls. I helped the security guards separate them cause I think like 5 fights broke out in like less then a minute. Anyways long story short, had an awesome time, got drunkie, the music was good, Jen was coolio, cat fights left and right. Lets be honest we go out for the adventures and this place left me with some awesome stories. If it was more packed I would’ve giving it more stars.

Oh my gosh. It was the worst club I’ve ever been in. They played nothing but House & Techno music all freakin’ night. I was hoping it’d only be for a good hour, but damn! The WHOLENIGHT! I think I only knew about two songs. We spent $ 900 on bottle service — total waste of our money with only 2 Grey Gooses! Ugh! Definitely not going back there anymore! The dance floor was pretty much empty the whole night!!!

Dig the dance floor and the lighting arrangement. Music is bumping, but you can’t go wrong with electro/house music. Seating arangement is only for VIP or at least that’s what I could see. Pretty F***ing dark! Overall, something new, but not going a destination where I think of first to go.

As soon as I walked in I wanted to Vanish(and I did)… Luckily, I got in for free. Upon walking down the stairs, I was struck with a sewage odor which was not very inviting. The place is very square, dark, and stereotypical. In regards to style(as seen at Side Bar, Stingaree, Fluxx, On Broadway), Vanish had none! I did find their sign to be nice… At 11:30pm on a Friday night, there were about 25 people in the club and no VIP tables being used. This speaks for itself. Please don’t waste your money here. San Diego has so much more to offer, so go enjoy it instead of Vanish!

I hate to say it, but I don’t think Vanish is going to be in business long. I went to the grand opening last night and it was less than spectacular. While I quickly discovered that I’m not in their target demographic(I’m in my mid, pushing late 20s)– and the crowd all seemed to be 21 – 22 years old(and maybe even younger)– they really over-sold this place as being«exclusive» and«elite.» The entire place was very underwhelming and there was nothing unique– from the DJ to the dance floor, to the décor to the drinks– I’d seen it all before. It’s nowhere near on par with Stingaree, Fluxx or Ivy. Just kind of a «me too» type of place.

Previously known as Blue Tattoo, Faces Night Club and Blonde Martini… and now called VanishSD Open only on Fridays & Saturdays from 10p-2am The soft opening was on Feb 25th, but the Grand Opening isn’t until March 4th and 5th. They’re supposed to be the freshest craziest new night club in the gaslamp… but then again… doesn’t every nightclub say that? Well…hopefully this place lasts a bit longer than Faces or Blonde Martini and doesn’t Vanish into SD Gaslamp history…
