I’ve been shopping at this Vons for years. I spend a lot of money there. Usually $ 300 everytime I go. Lately customer service has been horrible!!! Am I expected to bag my own $ 300 worth of groceries??? They never have a bagger. I refuse to bag my own. So the poor cashier has to also bag it and put in my cart. Also, at first I loved how they changed the meat counter and department. However I have been finding a lot of expired meats there. And also much of the meat that is out expires the day you buy it. I bought meat Saturday. Was planning on cooking it tonight, but I realized it expired Saturday. I have not been having good experiences there at all. If I have to bag my own groceries, I should just go to food for less. Sadly, I really do like a lot of the workers there. Need more bagger for better customer service. Also need to do a better job checking dates on their meats and other food.

3rd time into this store with the same experience. Shelves empty of all sale items. Meat counter, bait and switch. This advertised are rang up 2 to 3 x’s the price in the add. Last week all salad mix’s empty and out on a Saturday morning. Deli had no chicken strip ect. When I asked the counter guy, he said they ran out the first day and would not have any more until the sale was over, same with the produce guy. It’s sad because Sprouts two blocks away is always stocked, customer friendly, not to mention clean.

I shop at the Vons on Clairemont Dr. even though it is a bit farther away. The clerk at this location makes my day his name is Cary and he is darling. He is the type of employee that truly loves his job. He is a reall people person and his interaction with all of the shoppers can help but put a smile on your face. Thanks Cary:)

Stopped in this location because it was on our way home. Will never return again. Produce section is TINY and way understocked. In addition everything here was consistently more expensive than the Ralphs.

I would like to extend a big THANKYOU to Billy at the Clairemont Dr store and Tony at the Balboa Ave store. My aunt and I were planning to make gumbo and the Clairemont Dr store didn’t have any crab left in their inventory. My Billy was so accommodating, by calling a neighboring store to hold 2lbs for us. He called and Tony was waiting for us at the store. I was amazed with Tony’s professionalism. He not only had the crab ready, he assisted with a few additional items. Well done Tony!

This review is only for floral department!!! I have to thank Miss Irene for creating amazing bridal bouquets and boutonnieres for our very small wedding ceremony. We didn’t need any flower arrangements so i was referred to this store by my client who had her bouquets done here. Miss Irene was very friendly and helpful! The price is beyond great!!! The quality of flowers and detailed work is top!!! Thank you Miss Irene!

LONG lines… self checkout closed early morning… I dread shopping there when in a rush… why can’t they hire more folks and make it less of a challenge to buy a few groceries. Store itself ok, not very special, not many healthful meal options, I avoid their deli products and their salty unhealthy soups. Regular supermarket with long lines… a cashier told me they are cutting shifts all the time. I hope management listens to disgruntled customers, we’d like to buy our stuff and leave.

I used to live this store — shopped here at least three times a week. I now try to go as little as possible. The service seems to continuously decline — as an example, I was just trying to get a price on a package of French cheese in their display case(not individually priced, and not even a price display for that entire product). When I asked a woman at the deli/fresh foods counter, her private(I could hear parts of it) phone call was apparently more important — she waved me on to another guy. He stated that he could not leave the counter to check. I had to track down the store supervisor to get a simple price check. Grrrrr…

It’s a hit or miss. I do love that they help with the special needs community, as I have special needs in my family, I do not mean this in a rude way by ANY means… but a couple of them that work here make shopping very uncomfortable. They seem to yell and stare the heck out of you… last week walking down the aisle, one employee walked by me while he swept the floors… and yells«I got a Huge broomstick. GETIT?!?» Its just awkward and not sure what to say. That being said… I’m basically done with this location, for the fact that I can’t walk in or our anytime without being bombarded by solicitors, people that want my signature, people asking for money etc. Saw a group of grown women selling girl scout cookies, no children in sight. Not sure this is how that organization works. Its hard to continuously say in a nice way«no thank you»… when you are constantly hounded for money, or surveys. This location is okay, but ill be looking for a new spot to shop

Always a long line at the checkout Consistently out if the basic products(½n ½) Too much selection — I know that sounds counter intuitive but really, how many brands of plain olé sugar do you need?!

Vons is a great grocery store to shop at. This location is very nice to go to. Although it’s pretty big, it doesn’t seem to see as high of a volume of customers as others(at least during my visit). Navigating is generally simple and employees easy to track down and ask questions if needed. That being said, these same employees didn’t bother acknowledging me when I would be directly in their area. Also, prices can be hit and miss here. The quality of the store brand ranges from decent to below-par in my opinion. I would like to see higher quality store brand products sold. Maybe just have more things made to order rather than cooked/baked in bulk and having them sit out all day. Overall, Vons is a nice place to shop and this location is a nice one to go to if you live in the area.

Why is it that every Vons has only 2 or 3 checkout aisles open when there are long lines? This is unacceptable

I’ve gone here for a long time but I’ve recently found myself avoiding vons even though this is the closest market to where I live. The main reason being that the staff members 85% of the time are really grumpy. I’m not saying all are because there are some nice and pleasant workers here who don’t make it seem like they’re miserable. However, I’ve had multiple incidences spread through a few months with registrars and persons who tend the self-checkout counters. And a lot of the time, they make snide and rude remarks. Ive went to this place since I was little girl. But something is different now, the staff has low morale and they push these tiny annoyances onto customers. Skip this place and go to sprouts if you’re not having the best day. Or Just… Don’t go here, cuz these people need sleep or something.

Started coming here after Albertsons changed ownership. It’s a grocery store… It gets the job done. Not my favorite but oh well. What I don’t like is that it seems more crowded and dim than Albertsons or Ralph’s. They started labeling items gluten free a while ago though so now I don’t mind coming here as opposed to other stores. The lines are alwayssss long which is another thing I dont like. I once came here and they wouldn’t let customers in because their systems were down. But other than those things this grocery store is okay and they have a redbox which is a plus!

I came here around 5pm. I do some of my shopping here at this Vons(over on Balboa Avenue). I usually come here for produce when I don’t have time to hit up Trader Joe’s or Sprouts. The produce section is well stocked with a variety of fruits and vegetables. I even buy bok choy here sometimes when I have a craving for stir fried veggies(and I didn’t have time for Trader Joe’s). Also, they sell my favorite apples… honey crisp! The store is clean, customer service can be hit or miss depending on the time you go and who you are dealing with. From my experiences at this store… seems like some of the older employees are less friendly. Checkout can take a long time if you go during peak hours. Luckily there is a self checkout area. The store has a bakery, deli, and floral department. Also has a Starbucks inside. Prices seem comparable to Ralph’s and Albertson’s. Food 4 Less prices are cheaper, but some of their produce doesn’t appear to be as fresh and there is a smaller selection. Trader Joe’s produce prices are pretty good. Only problem is parking can be difficult to find(Mission Valley location) . Parking isn’t a problem. This shopping center was recently renovated so it looks newish.
