I’m not into business’s shutting down. And I don’t have a personal vendetta against Wendy’s, honestly I don’t eat Wendy’s…I just couldn’t believe this place hasn’t remodeled since 1979. Very run down and always full of homeless. I only hope that this location now becomes something useful.

I have lived downtown for about a decade, and visit here from time to time. Going to Wendy’s growing up and even into the nineties was always a nice experience. Not so much now. Many of the other Wendy’s locations in San Diego are nice, why not this one? The good: — The food is okay. The bad: — Everything needs cleaning. Doors, counters, railing, tables and chairs all had a layer of something slimy… grease perhaps. — The place smells of homeless. Where are the air fresheners? — All I ordered was a single w/cheese… hold the onions. Of course that got screwed up and the onions were left on. And fast food workers are demanding higher wages? For what? You cant even perform the simplest of requests!!!

If you dine in, you can have great conversations with the grey-bearded guy that always hides in the back and his coffee cup.

The doors were locked 20 min before closing. If the door says 12am then you should close at that time. If we take the time to walk to your restaurant to spend money then the hours should be true. Enough said with this place.

I am so sorry I went in to this place. Needed a quick bite with limited amount of time so I had no choice. This place provides a very good example why you should not have carpeting in a restaurant; after a while its going to stink! Not the people behind the counter were polite and courteous. I literally told the young lady to are way to good for this place. The food was edible at best, but what do you expect for fast food. Once I got my food and sat to eat it I realized I was not in a safe place. several characters whom I believe may have had gang affiliations started with abusive language and was being disruptive. I would not recommend this place.

Nastiest Wendy’s I even been to. Food on the floor. Employees standing around talking. Homeless people playing with themselfs in the corner. Seriously. I don’t mind if they are eating I’ll buy a homeless person food but really. Lack of customer service. Just disgusting will never come back here

Close to our hotel. My bf was so hungry and tired, so he went to the nearest one to have the junk food! Spicy chicken burger was ok

My friend and I ordered very standard combos. Came out wrong twice and ended up waiting over 20 minutes for a simple non-custom combo when it was only mildly busy with a line 3 – 4 people deep. Food quality is standard to any Wendy’s but holy crap the service is terrible

Don’t get me wrong. I love me some Wendy’s Frostys. However, this specific location is a little intimidating. There are lots of homeless people inside the place. I felt uncomfortable when I popped in with my boyfriend for a Frosty. I understand there are many homeless people in the downtown area and I understand that this a Wendy’s not a five star restaurant but regardless, I wish they would do a little better job of keeping the place free of those who are lingering(laying in the booths, sitting with their huge garbage bags and blankets). I’ll get my delicious Frosty from another Wendy’s location next time.

Staying downtown for Comic-Con and there is a dearth of fast food options near me. Thankfully, I was able to find this Wendy’s on Unilocal. With a large dining area and plenty of staff I was able to find place my order quickly and find a table for one. Also the free wi-fi gave me a chance to check my email before I was forced back into the unwashed masses.

Love the Wendy’s chili with a lot of their chili hot sauce. Solid location with good service.

Why does it smell like poop in here? Why am I not running? And why am I actually ordering a Root Beer float? With plans on having it here? Good God. That said, they ended up giving me not 1 but *2* root beer floats for the price of one. Sadly, one of the 2 root beer floats had Pepsi in it, and I hate Pepsi. But the lady delivered it all with a smile. What I’d like to know is HOW!!! The place smelled like poop! Like severe, awful overwhelming poop. She must be the patron saint of fast food places. She was very beautiful!

I am use to eatting a late second dinner. Was on the hunt for a late night spot. Searched and found this place. Hunted for parking and hurried in. I was the only person in line and waited quiet a bit to place my order. By the time I did there was a line of 5 people behind me. I had a double stack which thankfully was amazing. Was shocked to see absolutely no value meals. Could not bring myself to buy 4 nuggets for 1.89 though.

The prices are so high, the value menu means literally nothing. Only easy access is to walk and not be saddened by the vagrants outside. The prices are so high, I can’t afford to buy them a «dollar burger» because at this Wendy’s it does not exist!

Walk here at lunch for ice tea only. Last visit in a dog was sitting on a table… yuck.(Not service dogs so not sure why three dogs were in here). Would I come back for tea? Yes, would I eat here? No way. Feel sorry for them since they are on a corner in downtown but still.

The fast food restaurant is located right across the street from the Sofia Hotel. With the homeless and other weirdos, the location reminds me of any business along Market Street in downtown San Francisco. I wanted to try the Frosty in a waffle cone as a quick snack. But with the city of San Diego being close to ninety degrees, my $ 1.69 frozen treat melted rapidly quickly. Thus the cream was dripping through the cone and left trails behind me as I was exiting. I think there is something wrong with the restaurant’s Frosty machine. Plus, the nice weather did not help at all.

Would it kill their employees to have PERSONALITY?! Or is that asking too much? I had the pleasure of visiting this fine dining establishment for a quick and cheap bite to eat. When I got inside I noticed the large amount of homeless loitering inside, talking loudly, sleeping on the tables, talking jibberish nonsense to one another, and making the place SMELL. They were everywhere. I generally feel bad for the employees here because they have to deal with people who are intoxicated/mentally ill/drunk/smelly all day, HOWEVER, does that mean you need to be rude to me? NO! And why are the dollar menu items $ 2? Because this is downtown? Ridiculous! The only reason they got 2 stars was because there was a nice homeless lady outside and I gave her my second cheeseburger. So all in all, Wendy’s technically didn’t even earn my 2 stars. Even if you’re dying of starvation, DON’T go here. You might contract MRSA!

I have gone to this establishment way too many times due to being next to my work Bright spot the food is super fast to you Low points: Food gets smaller, prices go up. I don’t like that a place thinks just because they are in Downtown, SD that all of a sudden their prices can be higher than other Wendy’s. The have hiked up prices twice in the last year. Their value fry? It’s now $ 1.99. It used to be $ 1.29. Burgers and chicken sandwiches have also gone up at least 50 cents. I used to come here for a bargain and pretty decent grub. No more. You are not better than any other fast food place cause of your location. So get off your high horse

This was the only place open near the Sofia Hotel one late night, so we stopped by for some grub. I ordered a Bacon Double Deluxe, $ 5.29 and a Double Stack, $ 1.49. The Bacon Double Deluxe was not that good. The food didn’t taste fresh. The Double Stack was just as unimpressive. Once upon a time I use to enjoy Wendy’s…not anymore. Damn late night hunger pangs!
