Like pretty much everyone, I’m a fan of the San Diego Zoo. But I’ve got a bone to pick with you, yes, you Zoological Society. When you sign up(and pay) for yearly passes, what you aren’t told is that they will cash your check immediately but then stall for up to 6 weeks before you get your passes. But hey, you paid, and you want to go to the Zoo or Wild Animal Park, right? But where are the damn passes so you can get in? After waiting… and waiting… and waiting for my passes, I emailed and finally spoke with some incompetent and insufferably rude teenager working the phones who said that I could just show up and get«temporary passes» at the Zoo or WAP and I would be let in. Ok, that’s fine, but it would have been nice if someone clued me into that little scheme before. As it is, I wasted a couple of weeks waiting for my damn passes to come and getting pissed off because they had cashed my check so quickly without providing anything in return. And time was a-passing while I diligently waited for the dumb passes to be mailed out. And those passes do expire, you know. Well, now you know how it works, folks. Start using your passes – which you don’t actually have – the second they cash your check. I’m not a conspiracy-theorist kind of guy, but stuff like this just makes me wonder.
