Honestly, I’m not impressed. My mom met here for lunch, expecting to have a flavorful Mexican meal. Instead, we got mediocre tacos and a chile relleno that was swimming in too much egg wrap and was hardly stuffed(or «relleno») at all. The rice and beans were just ok. I really liked the chips and salsa, though! And the fact that they provided two choices(mild and spicy) was a plus. I personally liked the mild salsa more, which is surprising because I’m usually a big fan of spice. Overall, I am unimpressed and will not be returning. Parking is pretty disappointing too.

it was OK. My co worker and I went for happy hour. We both had a margarita and they were just OK. I had the sampler appetizer plate and she had the enchilada plate. Her enchiladas were pretty yummy. It had a good amount of cheese and the tortilla was not greasy. The sauce seemed generic and from a can… BUT…it had a good taste. My sampler plate was ok. I absolutely LOVED the nachos. The sauce that was sprinkled on top might have been the same as the enchilada sauce, but maybe the small amount was perfect for the chips. it came with sour cream and guacamole. The cheese sticks were not good. It was under cooked. The batter was hot, but the cheese was cold. They burned the zucchini sticks and still served it to me. And the jalapeño poppers, were ok. Just not crispy enough. Everything, was just OK. The staff was nice and friendly.

Possibly the best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant. My drinks were refilled constantly my margarita came out super quick. Chips and salsa flowing…(all done while the place was really crowded) The best friendly professional service. The place was packed and is always packed. I’ll be back. It’s no wonder they’ve been in business so long, no wonder their parking lot is always packed. They know how to provide excellent customer service!

So I have been coming here forever and I have always LOVED their food. I have now moved to corona and STILL decided to come back to eat here but I won’t anymore. The food and service are great BUT last night I came in for the first time in a few months and I have a 4 month old baby now and they have zero accommodations for bringing a baby in! They have no car seat sling, nowhere to place my baby’s car seat and even if I thought she could sit just for a few minutes in the high chair it didn’t even have a seat belt. We were so cramped in to our table that my poor baby practically had to sit under the table. I eventually just pulled her out and held her while I ate. Super crappy! Please don’t call yourself a family restaurant if you can’t accommodate everyone in the family! Will NOT be returning!

Best food ever! Been coming here for years and they never disappoint! Wait staff is always professional and attentive. Plus you can sit on the patio to keep an eye on your bike..

I haven’t been here for a couple of years and I feel like the food has gone bad. Maybe there is a new owner. The food was a little on the bland side and the service was ok. They were polite, took our order and refilled our drinks, but it wasn’t overly friendly. We ordered chicken fajitas and two beef tacos meal. The fajitas weren’t caramelized, were on the cold side and the onions in it seemed raw. The beef tacos I was told tastes good, but they placed it in the beans so when it was served to us the tacos were soggy and turned into a mess. This place has changed and the only reason I imagine people keep coming back now is out of habit. Keep driving if you’re new, you can find better, but it’s not the worse if you decide to eat here ^_^

If you want some decent Mexican food I definitely recommend coming here just as long as you don’t mind the staff keeping your change as their tip without asking.

Stumbled upon this place on our way home back to LA from an awesome weekend with friends in Palm Springs. It happened also to be Mother’s Day. Not sure because of the holiday, but the service was poor. Had to flag down someone to place our orders, or I guess they forgot about us out in the patio area. One of the salsas was like marinara sauce, very sweet like ketchup. Friends burrito was swimming in a broth. Taquitos seem to be from frozen. 3 hours later… I was food poisoned. Sorry I will not be coming back here at all.

Your basic family Mexican restaurant, popular with the locals. When it’s busy(when isn’t it?) you’ll probably need to park on the street. My favorite is the shredded beef and bean burrito, which is served«wet»(covered with sauce and melted cheese, onions optional). Average pricing(huge burrito is about $ 11). Warm chips and salsa served upon seating, but salsa is more liquid than chunky. They do take out and catering. A full bar with several TVs, patio seating, booth and table seating inside.

Wow haven’t been here in years now I remember why! The ckn flautas tasty gamey my bfs carnitas chili verde burrito was runny with water sitting on his plate. They must’ve been running low on green sauce too.

Carne asada and shredded beef tacos are great! I feel like rice and beans are always the true test and they definitely pass! I’ve been back several times since my first visit and now tend to compare other Mexican places to Casa del Rey!

Food was super mediocre at the best! Prices are kind of high for the portions they serve. The salsa for the chips they have a mild and supposedly«hot» both taste like tomato sauce not spicy at all! I ordered a cheese quesadilla plain btw they charge extra for guacamole and sour cream which makes no sense most places include that on top for free. My friend order a carne asada burrito which he said had no flavor and had to drench it in tapatio to make it decent enough to eat. Overall place is super overrated in my opinion. Would rather eat Taco Bell down the street then come here again! Save your money!

I haven’t been in a few years… Came in today and wow food was really, really bland and the margaritas suck!!! I had a blended margarita and it tasted like it was a very cheap preblend total crap… Chips and salsa … The«spicy» salsa tasted like tomato sauce from a can with a hint of spice but not spicy… Dinner was a small plate with flavorless frijoles, rice(rice was good) and 1 hard shell taco 10.99 :(

Pretty good. I’m not from the area and found this local spot on Unilocal.I like the vibe of the place as it felt authentic. Was a bit disappointed to see the margaritas are already mixed. Ordered chips and salsa(tasty) and enchilada combo. Good but not great. I figured all Mexican restaurants in SoCal have to be great. Not so…

Came here on our way out to Vegas. I got a combo plate with a beef taco, beef enchilada, and chile relleno. Of course, it comes with beans and rice as well as chips and salsa. The chips and salsa were tasty. The combo overall was good. The rice was a bit bland as was the enchilada sauce — tasted canned. The beans and taco were the shining stars of the plate. The portions are HUGE, so there’s enough to split. The service was solid and the prices were very fair given the portion sizes. I can’t say I’d return because there are better options closer to my home, but if you live in the area, you should give them a try.

Casa Del Rey is one of the best Mexican restaurants in the area. You can tell when you see cars parked on the side of Bonita during lunch and dinner time, because their parking lot is full. I’m a huge fan of their cheese enchiladas, it’s what I get 95% of the time. Don’t forget to add white onions inside the enchilada! I also enjoy the vegetarian burrito, beef colorado and flautas. The chips are always hot and fresh, served with two salsas but I have them keep the milder one and ask for extra hot salsa. Be sure to order a side of guac to go with your salsa and you’re set! Most of the staff members are great and very accommodating. We have a special needs family member and they always do their best to keep us, and him, happy when we are there. One of the employees just goes up and beyond for him and it is truly appreciated.

If you have to ask the waitress if they have different salsa for the«chips and salsa» then you’re already behind the curve. I’m pretty sure the mild salsa was ketchup and the hot salsa was ketchup with some pepper. My party tried a variety of food, but only a few people enjoyed their meals. The chile rellenos were mostly egg; people were literally searching for the chile. The chicken picado had no flare. Chicken with a couple onions and two pieces of tomato. Does it come with anything else? Service was mediocre … Server was kinda scatterbrained.
