Rocket Fizz Soda Pop & Candy Shop

Love this place! There are so few candy stores left and this one is really awesome. They also carry very unique, yummy sodas. As well as some more interesting ones, such as ranch dressing flavor, for the more daring consumer. Very friendly staff and a super fun atmosphere to be in. I definitely recommend this store to kids and adults alike.

My favorite candy store I’ve ever been to. I love going in here whenever I have a sweet tooth which is pretty much always. They have a pretty big variety of candy from different parts of the world. They also have a huge selection of soda pop too. The lady who was in the store was very nice and she was a big help in showing me where everything I wanted was. If you’re a candy lover like I am, stop by rocket fizz! You won’t be disappointed.

I came here to look at the candy museum. Candy stores have become a dime a dozen in terms of stock, however, it’s all about the general psychology of actually walking into a well organized room full of candy. Bought some little things. Customer service was friendly.

love the black licorice ropes and all the diffferent soda’s. Can even get my Chicago Green River Lime Soda here. I stop in about once a month to refll our supply of black licorice. They have some great novelties here and gag gifts. A really fun store with fun employees who are really helpful and free parking in the back!

Fun in vintage. Wish they carried OOgave sodas (they have just about everything else) then I’d be in love though they’re a little more pricer than some places with specialty sodas, the have a good selection of unique candy and novelty items… good place for birthday gifts and collectors of candy, soda, and/​or novelty items. This location is kinda busy and they’re out of certain things a lot, so if you want something you normally get maybe phone ahead or ask to special order… overly 3 stars

I love this place! I love trying and collecting odd soda flavors and Rocket Fizz is the place to go for all types of wacky, delicious and odd sodas. They also carry my favorite soda of all time which is Filberts Banana soda, if you havent tried it and you love banana you need to try it!
All the candy they carry reminds me of the ice cream truck days where you’d get out of school an the ice cream truck would be right out front offering the same candy treats.
I also really love all the posters and pictures they sell, I found some awesome Bettie Page photos and some Kiss and Alice Cooper as well.
Id give them 5 stars except for the fact that I dont believe they check their stock all that often because Ive boughten some odd soda flavors from the store and open them only to find they are flat and have expired. It is quite the bummer, especially if you want to try that flavor of soda.
If the staff checked their product a bit more I think they’d deserve 5 stars.

I am such a kid at heart! You can’t roam around Ventura Blvd without visiting Rocket Fizz, childhood or no childhood at all what –so– ever! Yup this place is heaven as it brings back my childhood days! I am a fan of old fashion sodas since I wasn’t cool enough to try the glass bottled ones. Gosh I can’t tell you how much Laffy taffy flavors they have here, I assume all or the all time favorites! Check out the unusual exotic insect edibles, like edible worms or cockroaches (very fun for dares you can do among your friends or family). Gotta love this place and for those who pass by the place, it doesn’t hurt to check it out. The employees are very nice and I bet there are many who just check the place out and buy nothing, and yet the employees are still good with quality customer service.

I’ve been to this Rocket Fizz and two other locations (Burbank & Pasadena) a few times.
Admittedly, I did go in for candy most times others I used it as a go through between the parking lot in back and Clay Oven before discovering they had their own rear entrance door.
I love the Valomilks when they are fresh and yummy, there are times I tend to wonder how long they’ve sat there or how they’ve been shipped because they stick to their paper wrapper and the entire bottom is a fail, but when they’re good, they’re good! I’m addicted to marshmallow! and love it regardless of how sticky it can be.
My son has also enjoyed picking out a few items now and again
Most recently I stopped in to purchase the makings of a little gift basket for my someone special. The last thing he probably wants is a basket full of calories but I had to do the special little messages with a play on words for each of the 20+ items I picked up.
They were out of a few things I was looking for at the time but their customer service was great! This store is filled with candy, everywhere! I went about finding the items I wanted but also asked about several others since there’s tons to go through when searching for something specific. They didn’t have Junior Mints at the time but that’s fine since I’d already done heart shaped Junior Mints around Valentine’s Day and had other mint chocolate candy at home. They also didn’t have Moon Pies at the time of my visit. Which we had already found ages ago at a Rite Aid for WAY less than they charge here.
All in all this is a great little retro candy shop to hit for an item of two or 20 if you’re looking for specific items that may not be sitting on the shelf at 7-​Eleven for less but you probably have a good chance of finding some of these items for less elsewhere.
If you allow your little ones to have candy, which I do occasionally this is a fun place to stop in — with LOTS of options and let’s face it, who doesn’t LOVE options when it comes to sweets!
They also have a ton of bottled soda, which is a biggie for me to mention since I haven’t had soda regularly in nearly two decades but if you like bottled soda, you’ll find it here. Again, priced a bit higher than other places though.

Love this place! Anytime I’m in the area I stop in and try a new soda flavor. Their Peanut Butter and Jelly soda was so good it almost became an addiction. It was touch and go for a while, but I overcame it. I wouldn’t say it’s cheap but for novelty items I think it’s priced pretty fairly and you can always get a coupon from them for 10% off. I always keep them in my car in case I stop in. They are always nice to me too.

This is the cutest candy shop ever! I searched high and low for this specific candy that my bf wanted that wasn’t sold in the US anymore, and lo and behold, I found it here! Even if you’re not in the mood to buy anything, you’ll probably walk out with something. And the owner is super nice and helpful.

Candy heaven! This place has all the candy from my childhood as well as new candy from today! My favorite is taffy! Here they have every flavor you can imagine!

This place is like Charlie in the chocolate factory but with candy from the last 50 years or more. All types of candy, modern to candy made 30 years ago. Retro candy, all types of taffy, all types of lollipops, chocolate and any candy you can think of. They have lunch boxes and other cute things with hello kitty and other characters on it. Such a cute store for adults and kids! You must go if you love sweet things!

Candy HEAVEN. Massive selection from the modern, to the Nostalgic. Good prices, good quality, helpful friendly staff. Love this place.
If Candy is your thing, try them out, the Taffy is delicious!

This place earns 5 stars for their amazing selection of delicious taffy. So many unique and tasty choices: watermelon, cotton candy, cupcake, passion fruit, huckleberry, candy apple, red velvet, root beer, cinnamon roll, gingerbread, rum, chocolate chip cookie, you name it, they just might have it!
This is also a good place to go if you want hard to find candy. If you are needing some Big League Chew or Candy Cigarettes this is your place! They also have many random flavors of bottled soda.
Minus one star because the prices on regular candy are a little outrageous. A small pack of red vines will run over $ 2, cheaper than a movie theater but a pack four times the size will run you $ 1 at the grocery store.
I pretty much only buy taffy here for that reason, but boy do I love that taffy!

Great little candy and soda shop right on Ventura!
I’ve come here a few times to pick up some candy and soda for the people in my life that love sweets. They have an unbelievable selection of all different kinds of candy, and a huge selection of sodas.
I was unsure what soda to purchase, so I asked the man for his advice because apparently the one that looked good to me actually didn’t taste good! He recommended a Boysenberry soda, as it was one of the most popular and he was right — it was really good.
Really nice guy and a great selection.

This is a kids candy heaven! They had almost every single haribo candy I’ve ever known plus more, tons of sodas and even more in the fridges in the back. They even have the Mexican watermelon/​mango/​corn lollipops with the lime and chili. Also green tea kit Kat and even nestle kitkat (not made in the US) with different flavors!
You can def spend a good 30 minutes in this little shop and easily have your head spin from confusion because of all the variety.
This place is not like sweet factory so don’t expect to take a bag and fill in with loose candy, mostly everything is packaged more like a specialty/​rare candy shop.

Cute little place to stop by if you’re in the area. They have all sorts of treats from many different eras which makes candy shopping fun and interesting. The staff was friendly and helpful but looked completely bored which was understandable since it was dead on a Friday night.
Personally, I think the place would benefit if they had an in house bakery– cookies and brownies– or even a self serve ice cream station which allows you to use to the unique candy as toppings.
Overall
I loved that they had a wide variety of candies but it was missing a wow factor for me. If I’m in the area I might stop by to grab a treat for my significant other but probably wouldn’t go again just for myself.

So for the uninitiated, this chain has your Sugar Daddy waiting for you :) They have everything else too, if it pops, glitters, makes you pucker, smile or chuckle, they likely have it.
I like the peach flavored licorice which I have yet to find anywhere else. Grabbing a bag of salt water taffy in all flavors is fun too. My dentist might not approve but I do :)
Variety comes at a cost, they are expensive at Rocket Fizz, nearly 20 bucks for some
pop rocks, licorice and Jolly Joes!

We were in the area visiting friends and needed to kill some time beforehand. We passed this brightly lit, colourful store. I had a fleeting thought to stop in and pick up some sweets but the adult in me said «No.»
Good thing the adult in me can be bribed quickly and with cherry limeade! I was over the moon when I saw their selection and when I spied the Dublin cherry limeade… well you don’t have to guess what I enjoyed as we drove to meet our friend for dinner!
This place is awesome. Hard to find candy and glass bottled sodas, some chilled for immediate consumption. Parking on street and they stay open until nine. I just learned this was a new store and evidently there’s more than one! Maybe we will snag another Dublin cherry limeade for the ride to LAX. You know… to enjoy it in all that traffic…

Sugar bomb heaven with every possible bit of contemporary and nostalgic candy and soda pop one could want. The store is large and has the feel of an amusement park candy store only bigger.
A long row of salt water taffy lines one wall and there are islands of every imaginable sugary treat, sour, savory, hot, chewy, gooey, chocolaty, you name it. The cool thing is you don’t have to buy a Costco size portion to satisfy your sweet tooth at Rocket Fizz.
I think Mr. Wonka would approve.
