Marie’s Party Palace

I love this store. They have so many things to chose from. The only thing i do wish is that they would sell powdered sugar, marshmallows, and chcocolate chips. That way i wont have to make a seperate trip to the grocery store. But that’s just me. Some items are very expensive, like the cake pop stands. But others are very affordable, like the color gels.

I was helped by an extremely knowledgeable employee. She took her time to explain tips, tricks, and even suggested some some awesome pre made sugar flowers that I could use for decoration. I had previously visited Kake Kreations, Canoga and had a horrible experience with snooty staff that hardly helped me out. Although Kake Kreations carries much more inventory, Marie’s Party Palace was much better help and carries most anything you need to create a cake masterpiece. They are extremely professional. I will definitely be back.

As soon as you walk in, the first thing you see is a cute wall painting that welcomes you to their shop with a beautiful purple back drop and pretty sunflowers. Already, you know you’ve entered a place that values presentation very much.
I was looking for black food coloring that I could not find anywhere, and the young lady I spoke to via the phone before arriving to the shop was so helpful, patient, and understanding. She took the time to explain the differences between food coloring options they had.
She helped me find everything I needed, to the food coloring, to the frosting, and even offered advice on how to make the buttercreme based frosting abundant in case I ran low.
I recommend this place to anybody who lives in the Valley and is looking for supplies to bake! Support your local shops and ditch the mass merchandisers. Will be returning!

This place will not be getting my business anymore I used to come here a lot even got the 15% discount card for my keychain but today upset me very much they refuse to let my 2 ½-​year-​old daughter use the restroom I was about to spend $ 200 on chocolate no more I will take my place business to kake Kreations

Absolutely the best little business in San Fernando! The previous owner was kind and patient, and when she sold it I was worried the new owners would change it or run it poorly– on the contrary my friends! The new owner is amazingly knowledgable all baking/​cake/​fondant/​molds/​etc. he once didn’t carry the specific mold I was looking for — so he matched it free (I am a loyal customer) but after this I will never buy my supplies @ michaels on Sunday’s/Monday’s I wait until Tues-​Sat when they are open, also conveniently open till 7pm and I take all three of my children with me and he gives them coins to use @ his candy machine he is very kind and his worker is extremely helpful! Who writes checks these days? I do LOL and he takes them

I’ve been coming Marie’s for over 20 years. Needless to say to it holds a very special place in my heart. The new owners have brought new life into the store. With that being said this week I picked up an edible image I ordered for a wedding. In true beginners baker fashion I ripped the edible image. In distress I called Marie’s and asked if they can print the image again (they usually require 24 hours for printing of images) being the AMAZING people they are, I explained my crisis are they said no problem we will reprint it and come and get it in half an hour. Since I was in a time crunch I sent my husband. To my surprise when my husband comes home he said, They were very nice they even charged me less because they know you had an accident with the fist image! If that is not the best customer service I don’t know what it. I will forever be a loyal customer to Marie’s!!! THANK YOU FOR ALWAYS BEING THERE WHEN I NEEDED YOU!!!

Have been going to this store for years. New owners now and the store looks incredible! It is well stocked with merchandise and the staff is VERY customer service oriented. Thanks Jackie for your great customer service on the phone and when we came into the store. Albert you are amazing! Thank you for going the extra mile to get our sugar pearls for us, you are a life saver. I look forward to many more purchases at your store and will recommend you highly to everyone I know.

What a wonderful experience I had at this store! The women who work here are beyond helpful, really informative and i got everything i wanted for my ombré cake and more!!!

I wanted to make an «Ombré Cake» for my cousins bridal party and had no idea where to start. I ran all over town (aka the valley/​city) looking for food coloring that would match my cousin bridal party colors (pink, peach & ivory). Unfortunately I am not a professional pastry chef and had no idea what i signed myself up for. Went to Michaels (no help there), William Sanoma (basic food colorings only), Wiltons website (wasn’t satisfied and had no time for shipping) then my best friend sent me the link to this place (thats why you need your best friends) I saw that it was a little far from where I was so i called to confirm they had the few things i was looking for and they did of course. Took me about 20 mins to get there and it was easy to find (always a plus when you have no idea where your going)
I walked in an met the little abuelita (grandma) and she was such a delight. She helped me figure out what colors i needed to make the 6 layers of ombré, from ivory to hot pink. Handed me 2 colors (instead a box of 5 colors i don’t need) and advised me to maybe make my life easier and buy their home made buttercream frosting, and I happily did. I knew there was someone else in the store because when i started looking around i heard a young girls voice. Im not sure but i think it was her grand daughter. She heard me talking to her grandma about what i was trying (key word trying!) to make. I understand some spanish so I chimed in and said I am open to your suggestions for this cake, please help me! This beautiful young girl really made this cake without actually being there to make it. She walked me through ever step! She showed me the proper cake pans I should be using (bought those there) gave me gold and pink sprinkles for the cake (2 different sizes), handed me edible glitter (WHAT?! mind blown & it really made the cake) made suggestions on flavoring the cake batter and the buttercream frosting (i went with champagne cake & strawberry flavoring for the frosting) then foil wrapped a cardboard cake round in gold so everything would tie together!
As Abuela rang me up the young girl made a suggestion that i should cover the cake in chocolate ganache after fully frosting it !! i looked at her like, i can’t do that, i have no experience with that! And she said its super easy just follow these directions & if you have any trouble youtube it ! She gave me a bag of pink chocolate and a bag of orange and said combine to two to make the color peach that you want. And it was as simple as that! I walked out of there a PRO without even knowing it! The young lady, her grandma and the products from their store helped me execute one of the most incredible desserts I’ve ever made!!! I posted pics so people could really see what I’m talking about!
If your ever in need of cake & candy supplies or even baking classes GO HERE!!! I loved ever bit of this experience and plan on coming back. Plus it is a small business and we all know it is very important to keep these places alive. So pardon my long descriptive story but i felt it was necessary to let others know how AMAZING this place is!

Aside from the fact that they’re closed Sunday and Monday I love this place. Every random baking thing you’ll new can be found or ordered. The staff is super friendly!

I just moved to Sylmar a month ago and I was looking for a cake decorating supply store … I love this place although not many things like Kake Kreation but this place has any cupcake toppers you can think of. I love it and it’s affordable. Been back 2x since my first visit. Definitely coming back. :)

I love Marie’s Party Palace! I have been coming here for years and it has only gotten better. New owners have made great improvements. Employees are always friendly and the store is very clean and organized. I come in a few times a month for things and I have always had pleasant experiences here.

Has recently gone under new ownership and love the way this store has improved. I remember coming here since I was 10! The service is awesome here and it’s the perfect go-​to store when it comes to baking supplies. This store is a perfect example of how your local stores should be. Very welcoming and they care about their customers.

omg, so i havent been to this place in like at LEAST 5 years… but it’s probably been 8, lol! anyways, i really like it. i think it’s under new ownership or sumthin cuz it looks a little smaller. i went a couple days ago to look at the chocolate molds (cuz i like makin candy) and ended up leavin without any molds, but other little cake/​cupcake toppers that were SUPER cheap. especially for them being liscenced characters. like, i got a bag of darth vader/​storm trooper rings that go on cupcakes. there were 6 big rings in a pack and it was $ 1.30. i think thats super cheap anyway. te only thing that made me a little bummed is that i think they had less mold selection, and they kinda looked older looking. but idk, again, the last time i was here was probably 8 years ago, and i was a kid, so i probably remember it differently, lol! anyways, I WILL be returning soon. cant believe i forgot about this little place. also, sucks that not open sundays and mondays… thats weird. but i guess cuz this little city is dead those days fro business? idk. whatever, lol!

I love this store! They have everything i need for my baking needs. The owners are so nice. I love knowing that now they are open 5 days a week and stay open past 5:30Pm because i sometimes didn’t make it in time after work. One day soon i will try their classes! Happy baking!

If you’re like me– then you LOVE to bake! If you’re also like me then you HATE not finding all the fun stuff at your local grocery store. You also probably hate getting on the freeway to deal with traffic just to get to a baking supplies store (If you live in the NE part of the Valley).
So, since the holidays are just around the corner, I stopped by to see if there were some things that I could get from here. They have a lot of stuff (more than you can find at a grocery store) but at the same time they kind of don’t– especially if you’re a super hardcore baker. But I’m not, so that’s okay with me. The store also sells a lot of things for candy making, although all I saw were candy molds. I did take a picture of some shelves that had a lot of food coloring (look at photos), perhaps on those shelves are also some kind of liquids that you pour into the molds? haha I’m not sure, I’ll have to ask next time. I know nothing about candy making btw so don’t judge me on that. :)
I saw some pie boxes that were about $ 0.40– which is great because I make tons of pies! I also saw some boxes to hold cupcakes, which is also great, because guess what? I also make cupcakes! They also have cookie cutters– but not that many. If you’re interested in making a wedding cake, well you’re in luck because they have cake stands! They also have those laced dollies that you place underneath the cake. Those plastic cups full of sprinkles (look at photos) were about $ 2 – 3, the cupcake liners were also about the same price. They had a hand full of instructional books, some baking molds, ribbons, tons of food coloring and a lot of cake toppers.
I think this is a great place to come to buy some stuff for your baking goods but don’t expect to find everything that you may need in here. There are things that even Target will have that this place doesn’t. :(
I also never stopped by before because the name of this store says, «Party Palace». I always assumed it was a party supplies store– helium tanks, balloons, piñata’s, big bags of candys, games, party favors, etc. Don’t let this deceive you!
They also offer classes (look at photos), however I don’t know how often. When I go back I will definitely inquire though! So excited!
Overall it’s great to have a local baking supplies store and I will definitely be coming around to purchase what I can get from here, but it isn’t yet the ultimate baking supplies store.
