Bought three organic apples for almost six dollars, when I try to eat one of them, the little sticker on the apple is right over a brown open spot, I wouldn’t have chosen this apple if I saw the brown spot, and it’s at a very weird place where you would normally put the sticker, obviously someone is trying to hide the brown spot, and I was able to scrap off a lot of wax from the apple, the reason I buy organic is because I want to eat the skin for health benefits, but with all that wax, I don’t feel safe to eat the skin

The store owner contacted me and offered refunds, he reached out the the company that he bought the apples from and found out that apples produce own wax to retain moisture, I did some research online and found the something, therefore I m changing the rating for the owners action

What a terrific store. I wanted organic produce but didn’t want to slog through the Whole Foods parking lot and lines. I found at least as good a selection here, for better prices and service. Can’t wait to return.

This place is small but they have all the organic veggies I need and at great prices. Way cheaper than anywhere else, so this place covers all my produce needs.
Not to mention, the main guy who runs the register and is there every time (not sure if he’s the owner), is very gentle and kind. He sometimes throws in some carrots for free or matches the cheaper fruits pricing if I get a bunch… I like to think its loyal customer bonus points. :)
Only thing is the bananas are hardly ever ripe or of good quality.

I am so happy to find this grocery store! unpretentious, helpful, and full of delicious organic produce. they basically sell everything I eat. they provide fruits & veggies mostly but also rice, noodles, some seasonings & some chips. I love the Other grocery markets on clement too but for organic produce, this place is the best.

This place is a gem. The owner and all the employees are wonderful and the organic produce is delicious, incredibly affordable, and within walking distance of my house. Score on all levels!

I’ve stopped into this little fresh produce market a number of times now and each time I always walk out with some excellent organic produce.
There are a wealth of different grocery stores in the area –boasting a vast display of fruits and vegetables. 101 Super Mart may be one of the few — if not the only one in the area that actually has organic fruits and vegetables. They even carry some select organic bulk items too like organic oats.
The owner is exceptionally sweet and his prices are extremely reasonable as well.
If you want more exotic fruit and vegetables — you’ve got a handful of other large stores to choose from, but if you want quality produce that is hand-​picked and genuinely free of icky growing practices and pesticides — come here.

Fresh veggies and fruits! And they are organic. I can’t wait to come back here and buy a durian. Lol. I am going to eat it at my relatives’ house so that I don’t stink up my place, plus we love to share and they love all those exotic fruits. Win win.

Its surprisingly hard to find good dragon fruit in SF but not at 101 SM. The only minus is they close pretty early. Another cool thing — they stock cherrymoya — this place is quickly becoming the exotic fruit destination.

So happy that this grocery store exists. I’ve lived in the neighborhood for over twenty years (born and raised here and come home frequently) and we needed an organic grocery store with affordable prices. Produce is always fresh and varietal and the people who run this business are nice and appreciate their customers. I come in without a specific list and buy whatever they have to offer that day. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!! I first discovered 101 Super Mart when I was pregnant, so I was doubly excited to find a fantastic source of fresh, varied, organic produce. The two ladies who run the place are so sweet – they’re great about offering samples, and they always make a big fuss over the baby. With this store in the city I haven’t felt compelled to make the trek to Berkeley Bowl in over a year, and it’s so much more affordable and less pretentious than Whole Foods or Rainbow.

Underrated place. Great organic food at a good price.

Wow, the most affordable source for organic produce in SF, by far. My wife is a big believer in organic fruits and vegetables, but the cost has been prohibitive until we found 101 Super Mart. Great prices for organic!

101 Super Mart offers organic produce but that’s not all. also:

I’ve enjoyed every shopping experience here.
Usually come for one or two items, but end up getting much more — without breaking the bank — and best of all it’s pretty darn healthy!
Fresh, clean, affordable, friendly, and with a wide variety to please Asian as well as Western palettes: English and Japanese cucumbers, Italian and Chinese eggplant, regular onions and green, etc. Very traditional items like umeboshi (pickled plums) can also be found. Regular and organic produce abound (lemons of both varieties, for one example). Workers look to be helpful. Tried organic purple kale here for the first time (DELICIOUS) and satisfied a craving for cherimoya fruit on another.
Take time to poke around, you may be surprised what you find on lower shelves, a corner, or behind the register — such as Annie’s organic products or foreign candy.
However, there are no scales to weigh your produce BEFORE coming to the counter and there is only one register at the front of the store. On the other hand, the people who ring are patient and accommodating (if you should happen to change your mind) and there is a huge television that broadcasts interesting programs above the teller (not just advertising). They take credit cards, but it will slow up the line further, and they’ll ask for your code (rather than privately punching it in) unless you choose credit.

The fruit and vegetable situation on Clement Street is something I’ve been frustrated about for years. I try to eat as many O R G A N I C fruits and vegetables as possible and they are simply nowhere to be found at the many Asian grocery shops on the street.
Oh sure, there’s the organic produce spot on California, but their freshness, selection, and prices leave a lot to be desired. So my options? Go up to Trader Joes’ for bagged apples, oranges, etc, pay ridiculous prices at Whole Foods on Stanyan, or travel across town to Rainbow or Golden Produce. I frequently end up at 4^th & Geary for their prices, freshness, and selection, but unfortunately their produce is not organic.
So when I saw the awning go up for what looked like another typical cheap produce place, I was like, «Organic? Yeah right. We’ll see what that’s about.»
Well, dang…101 is AWESOME. More than half their produce is organic, and not just organic, but beautiful, fresh, and well-​priced. Also you can get lots of vegetables you can’t find in the Asian grocery shops like fennel, different kinds of chard and kale, beets, heirloom tomatoes, sweet potatoes, okra, etc. They also have lots of tropical fruits like lychee, longan, and starfruit.
They also have good deals on organic fruit that’s overripe, but perfect for my smoothies. To top it off, everyone that works there is friendly and helpful.
I go there for EVERYTHING now and I’m so happy about it I had to write this Unilocal review. Clement Street finally has an awesome organic grocery store. It’s almost too good to be true!

they were closing up and I was looking in the window and they still let me in to do some shopping, I would highly recommend this place next time your shopping for produce.

I’ve noticed their prices have gone up a lot. Not just because of the season, in general everything is about 50 cents to $ 2 more than when they first opened. However the high quality and friendly service remains the same.

I’ve been here a couple times and it’s wonderful. Ridiculously cheap produce (and cheap other things too: spices, condiments, snacks etc.), clean and organized, and friendly staff. It’s small but not chaotic like May Wah market down the street, nor is it dingy and filled with old produce like other grocery stores on Clement.
One of the staff there gave me advice on how to cook the ramen I bought and gave me free bananas because he had too many!

I popped in the other day while making a stop next door at Wing Lee’s. I was very surprised to see an organic supermarket in the Asian part of Clement. We asked the lady behind the counter if everything was organic and she said that «most of it is, but not everything». The prices looked reasonable so that’s good enough for me. I’ll definitely make another trip here next time I’m in the area.

Today (Aug. 7, 2011) was the Grand Opening of this store. This is a Asian Super Market with many Organic Products sold here. Organic Produce, Fruits and Veggie’s and many various Asian foods. A good percentage of the foods (products) were organic, some were not.
Sales signs were in chinese along with the prices… If you don’t read chinese you’ll need to ask for assistance if you want to know more about the product. They were more than willing to assist me in telling me what products were organic and what was not.
Here are some of the items they have:
Apples, Peaches, Banana, Grapes
Various Breads
Lots of Green Veggies
Various Sauce (Oyster Sauce, Soy Sauce…)
Health Snacks
Pasta, Vermicelli, Various types of rice
Seaweed
Prices are reasonable and compatible within the area (cheap).
Today I bought some Rice Vermicelli. I was assisted with one of the store clerks as to which Rice Veremicelli was best. Tonight I plan on making some Spring Rolls with the Vermicelli that I had purchased. I didn’t see any Rice Cakes so I’ll have to get those from another store… but not to worry because they have them across the street.
Overall experience… for the first day… everyone in the store seemed very upbeat and all very willing to help out. Kind of narrow inside and can get crowded. I was happy to have someone speak english to me and assist me with my purchase.
