Absolutely FANTASTIC! I’ve been struggling all week trying get to find food that’s safe for me to eat only to find 3 Potato 4 on my last day in town! Amazing fries, amazing dipping sauces, amazing gourmet salts to dust your fries with, and incredible service! Many people think being gluten free and vegan means cardboard and veggies, 3 Potato 4 has taken good old American comfort food(fries, soup, etc.) to a new level. All types of eaters on all types of diets will love this place! A definite must!

Very happy to find this fully vegan little place near Fisherman’s Wharf in SF. I had a fresh batch of their fries which completely hit the spot! :)

I work in the hood and this place is my favorite for a quick snack. The fries are always fresh and cooked crispy as I want them. Their chipotle mayo sauce is my favorite. The owners are super friendly and they really care for their customers. Overall, a nice organic food experience.

Very good potatoes! This place has incredible dipping sauces for the french fries. It was the perfect little snack that I needed to keep me going mid day while we waited to have dinner. Everything there is gluten-free and I believe all of it or at least most of it is vegan

Cute place in the middle of the touristy hustle. I was really looking for something like a jacket potato buy it’s essentially thick fries like wedges. But the sauces were delicious.

As I finally begin to explore the regions besides Palm Beach County, I decided to pack up my bags and took my family on a little west coast trip. Ok, who am I kidding? Spirit Air had a flash sale and it was $ 17 round trip for everyone. Can you say, «Special Cloth Alert?» If you’re a new follower, just know, my fans crowned me the Papita King. If there’s a French Fry out there… Just know, I’ve tasted it. Special Shout out to my ! Always reppin the movement. My goal is takeover the world, one Papita at a time. Anyways, back to my story. So, before that Spirit Flash Sale ended, I pulled up this place called ‘3 Potatoe 4′. First thing that made me cringe was that it’s an ORGANIC restaurant. everyone knows an organic Papita spot is not possible! Boy was I wrong. I have friend, not my friend, who loves DD&D’s… He always said, «don’t focus on the exterior of the restaurant, focus on the pallet of deliciousness waiting to be uncovered». He was right! I placed my order with a slight bit of hesitation… I ordered the loaded potatoes with extra cheese! But wait. I wasn’t done ordering. Next was the bacon wrapped fries dipped in salsita with a side of regular fries. Woo! My nipples are tingling just thinking about it! Before I get anymore graphic, please check out this amazing restaurant. If you love papas like I do, you won’t be disappointed. As I do with all my other reviews… This place is Papita King APPROVED! Rating: Cinco Papitas! Bravo

Okay, this place needs to expand. I LOVE potatoes! Even better when they’re baked and not fried in oil! For vegans like myself, ALL sauces and toppings are vegan! Friendly staff too!

4.5 stars? Are all the other raters crazy? You seem to be patting yourselves on the back because this little hole in the wall offers ‘healthy’ food. How about you open your eyes & pay attention? It’s all pre-packaged food you can get cheaper at Safeway. They are making nothing from scratch. If you can’t microwave it, or throw it from the package into their oven, then it won’t be served here. There is no place to sit down. The place where you can stand and eat fries is covered with sticky salts from previous customers. They charge an extra $ 1 for their flavored catsups — I watched the server pull a huge plastic bag of curry powder out to make the curried catsup so I guess you can call that home made. And, when my ‘fries’ did come out of the oven, they weren’t crispy, they were slightly tough on the outside and barely warm on the inside. How can you all consider this a great deal?

It was Easter Sunday. I’m temporarily living in San Francisco and spending the holiday entertaining myself walking around. It was 4:58pm on Sunday when I called, and the woman who answered the phone told me that if I’m coming she would have the girl at the counter stay open for me. I got there a few minutes later, and she did! I’m a vegan and was in the mood for some fries. Entering 3 Potato 4 was such a great experience. She was so warm and friendly. Fisherman’s Wharf area is a little gritty, dirty, and commercial. 3 Potato 4 is friendly oasis within the area– for those who want a pleasurable snack with a clean cooking and family-owned quality.

Wandered here a while back and tried the vegan soft serve swirl-delicious, couldn’t tell it was vegan. Fries look good too. To the person who gave this place 1 star for having a limited menu, do you also give ice cream parlors 1 star for not offering pizza, or cafes 1 star for not offering sushi? FYI gluten free simply means not having options with wheat in them, they’re not obligated to be a full fledge restaurant. *done with the side eye*

If you’re going to call yourself gluten free, at least offer some food. Baked fries and soup doesn’t really feed a group happily. Had to look elsewhere.

This place was soy delicious! I don’t know why some reviews on here say the potatoes get mushy or soggy– I did not have that experience. They stayed delicious and crispy the whole way through. Maybe it’s because I ate my fries so fast because they were absolutely delicious!!! :) I got the wedge cut fries with spicy jalapeño ranch chipotle and sprinkled it with complimentary bacon bits and ghost pepper salt! Definitely stop by if you are near the wharf.

This place appreciates and values potatoes with the respect they deserve. Everything is gluten free and vegan! The dipping sauces are unique and delicious. The owner let me try a few before I picked which ones I wanted. He was so friendly and helpful. The portions are plentiful and the price is great. I wish I lived closer to this place, I would be back again and again! Go here!

4 stars because of the cute female employee was so nice and funny. All of their food was probably out of a can or package… nothing fresh. I got the burrito, soup, and sweet potato… it was okay… burrito was small even for a petite gal… not worth 8 bucks. I was hungry and desperate and the food helped me get by.

Fun, tasty, alternative potato snack(that can quickly turn into a full-fledged tater meal). I loved the rosemary potatoes with one of the spicy sauces. Seriously fun to walk around the Wharf with a potato«cone» and seeing the looks of envy from folks who are wondering, «WTF, that looks awesome.»

Stopped in for snack while out walking. One large fry(6.25) plus 2 sauces($ 1 each) plus a regular size bottle of water($ 3.75) added up. At first the fries were hot and crispy. They bake them in an oven that reminds me of a air fryer. They are then placed in a paper cone. They didn’t stay hot for long. The cone seems to steam them and they quickly start becoming soft and no longer crisp and get cold. We had a lot of the sauces left and if the line hasn’t been so long at in and out burger i would have gone there and ordered some fries just to finish my $ 2 in sauces(sauces were good. We got the Bbq and curry mayo). They are hard to eat with the sauces if you want to keep walking and being in the cone, someone has to hold the bag the entire time. Novelty but I won’t be rushing back.

Time: 3:37pm/60°F cloudy Purpose: With an hour and twenty minutes to go before going home. I made the best of the area. Normally, I don’t go to touristy areas. Today attended next door Quickly. Set-up: Located on the outer edges of fisherman Wharf. This location is different from the now defunct Market Street location. Once inside you’ll see a stand alone beverage fridge, counter with cut out holes, salt shakers of various flavors, two convection ovens, menu board, touch screen register, tip jar, acrylic table top ad board, soft serve machine. As with all 3 potato 4 locations, its industrial interior with the traditional blue and yellow color scheme are never change. Staff: Hip lady in her 40 friendly fast and efficient. knows her way and how to deal with customers making them feel right at home. No push for sale or up sell, she even ask if you’re hungry or if you’re sharing? What’s cool about her is, she’ll let you know what flavor is best for what type of fries you eating. Cleanliness: Grade A, impeccably clean throughout their place. No oil residue left behind on any equipment. If there was any cleaning it was done before any patrons arrive. Eat/Drinks: I ordered the hungry size which is medium for $ 6. She asked what flavor gourmet sauce I wanted? Told her let’s go with Thai aioli $ 1. As I expected, baked potatoes taste more healthier than their fried version. Perfectly baked no soft spot on any every piece was crispy and hot not soggy. These baked fries must be enjoy with some kind of sauce or dressing. Since I have thai aioli as dressing I went ahead and use thai ginger salt from shaker to add more zing to it. Without any it just tastes like any other bland russet potato. Main Features: Baked fries with choice of sauce and flavor salt. Products/Services: Wedge-cut fries, sweet potatoes, redskins, crinkle-cut, over 50 artisan sauces, soups, organic, vegetarian/vegan, chili, breakfast burrito/breakfast combo, GF, 99% fat free, nut free, meat-free, wheat free, GMO free, cassein free, gelatin free, MSG free, soft serve, frozen banana rocket, souvenir t-shirt, sweatshirt, sea songs, cold bottled beverages, Kalebs sodas. Find them on Twitter, FB, Unilocal,Instagram. Punch Lines: Tourist area, street parking, friendly, knowledgeable, zippy service, no seat, imaginable toppings, drool-worthy, devotees, well prepare, kitschy décor, can’t go wrong, truly addictive, casual and delicious, a twist on traditional favorite, good and sloppy, well-season, satisfactory. Tradeoffs: No difference on the ingredients being use elsewhere, but the only difference is baked vs fried. A bit healthier, but still starchy. Final Thoughts: May not be as heavy or as much as a whole russet potato. However you’re paying for the service and convenience of a novelty snack near by. They are in a good area though, especially with the step on/step off sightseeing bus tour center is right out front. Grab an order before or after the tour either you’ll know you’ve try it. It’s something that you try once in awhile if you’re in the area.

The menu is simple: — pick a potato — pick a size — pick a sauce Here’s what I like about it: — the fries are baked, not fried — a bunch of their sauces are vegan — gourmet flavored sea salts(I recommend the ghost pepper sea salt. Spicy stuff!) — the service counter have holes built in to hold the coned-shaped packaging — the service was EXCELLENT!!! — Free smiles :) From the moment we stepped into 3 Potato 4, we were welcomed with a warm friendliness. To steal a few words from the meateater BF’s review: «The gentlemen working the counter had a lot of enthusiasm about the product and was extremely helpful and patient in answering questions we had about the product.» To add to those words, we were invited to sample a bunch of sauces and salts before making a decision. He would even offer the ingredient list just so I can feel confident that certain«mayo-based» sauces are actually vegan. He was also excited to tell me about other vegan items they offer such as vegan soups and vegan soft serve. Although it all sounded good, we were only hungry for a snack. The BF had the Rosemary Red Potato Fries with the Curry Ketchup which was YUM! I had the Sweet Potato Waffle Fries with the Green Chili(vegan) Mayo and(vegan) Bacon Bits. Weird combination, I know, but I totally dug it! Don’t judge me ;P P. S. The Wasabi Ginger Mayo and the Aztec Ketchup we sampled were good too! It’s hard to make a decision with so many tasty options :)
