For a fast food, it was surprisingly good… I just became vegan and I really enjoyed it.

My first time dinning at loving hit and have been back two times in less than 3 weeks. My friend and I decided to come here in December to try their food since we were both craving for hot noodle soup. Came here during lunch and it was half packed. I ordered the bun hue and she ordered the phở. Pretty amazed at how good it was considering it’s all vegan without any MSG! My bun hue was really good and the broth tasted almost exactly like my fav bowl of BBH in San Jose! Friend really enjoyed her phở as well. Came back last night with my boyfriend and friend. They were hesitant to try and wanted to opt for Chinese food that was not vegetarian. We ordered the orange bites, Thai ocean curry, bun hue, and the cha cha. We were all impressed with the flavors and quality of food. Will definitely be back! They do take cards.

I usually go to the Loving Hut in the food court at Westfield which has a much smaller, limited menu(due to the location and smaller real estate footprint obviously). I was very interested in checking out the large full size restaurant that had a whole pile of things I could eat! There’s seriously something amazing about being able to go through all of a menu and pick something instead of trying to find the one vegetarian item per section! We picked out the kung pow noodles(super spicy!) and the dry wonton noodles(as I had mentioned how much I’d missed wonton soup). We started off with an appetizer of potstickers since I love them so. They came stuffed with cabbage and ginger and a side of dipping sauce to go with them. I love the food court Loving Hut but there’s no comparison with the full-on restaurant. There were quite a few things I saw on the menu that you can get at the buffet so if you want to try small servings instead of a full entrée, start at the food court in Westfield for some options, but head over here for a meal and way more variety.

Amazing delicious food! I had the sweet and sour protein with a side of brown rice, my friend had lemon grass medley, and we shared an order of potstickers. Every things was exceptional! Very fresh and tasty. Delicious vegan good at its best! Definitely recommend.

Wow this place terrible. Maybe I ordered the wrong thing but it was inedible. I asked if they could make me something else quickly so I wouldn’t be late for work. They said no. So I spent the whole day hangry. The one at the mall is sooo much better!

Everything here was fantastic. We had the spring rolls, sweet and sour soup, crunchy noodles, and jasmine tea. A vegan diamond in the rough. We will definitely be back for dessert which looks amazing!

If you are wanting to try a vegan restaurant, this is a nice place to go. There are several locations within sf and I so happened to have been closer to this one. I understand that many Chinese restaurants in Chinatown have terrible service(own expeeience), but this place was quite decent. Came here around 5pm or so with my bf and it was very clean. The waitress was nice and when a mistake was made as simple as a wrong check, she apologized. Unlike another restaurant who didn’t even apologize to us for having glass in our food. But anyways, my bf ordered a dish that was a rice plate(lemon grass something) while I ordered pad thai. I’ve tried pad Thai from multiple places but this place was just amazing. it was so flavorful, not too dry or wet and it was perfect. Gluten free ingredients? Even better. The lemon grass rice dish my bf had didn’t look good but when consumed, it was just too delicious. I definitely craved more after leaving and would come back again. Give this place a try because I honestly believe it is worth it. Presentation wasn’t that great but the food tasted amazing.

I don’t think it is fair to judge so harshly on a vegan restaurant. I mean they don’t have much to work with, do they? So I’ll try my best to be nice… Food: Two of the three dishes I got weren’t too good, but the eggplant one was pretty delicious. Thick soft yet chewable texture. Only bad thing was that it was crazy oily, but I know that eggplant is impossible to cook without putting enough oil so I’ll give them that. Service: Customer service was also oddly bad despite the restaurant being near empty… Would I come again? Since I have turned vegetarian since the last time I came here, I think I will give it another try. I’ll update you if the food is more edible!

I have been wanting to try this place for a while and finally got around to it today. This is one of three locations, nice and clean, bright and airy. Vegetarian food is not something I usually go for, funny since I used to be a vegetarian years ago, but I was pleasantly suprised by this place. Flavors were excellent and I didn’t miss a chunk of meat. We had the mango salad– ok wish it was more spicy, eggplant with tofu — yummy delicious, guru’s curry– also excellent with potato and tofu, and crispy noodles which I think was my favorite. Friendly service and just a nice atmosphere. Lemonaide was freshly made.

I’m all about veganism and Loving Hut is my go to place for delicious vegan food! My friend and I came in on a not so busy Sunday and it was our first time visiting this restaurant at this specific location. NASTYANDDISAPPOINTING!!! We ordered a plate pad thai, bowl of phở and hot green tea. 1. The teapot had dirt in the snout 2. Got jasmine tea instead of green tea 3. The noodles in both the pad thai and phở were mushy We could tell that the food was not made fresh. We had a hard time swallowing the food down and ate less than 40%. It felt like we were eating leftovers that was froze and heated up… The phở came with 30% soup, 60%mushy noodles and 10% tofu. NOCONDIMENTS! I prefer to eat phở with sirircha and the other sauce but this location only had soy sauce and hot sauce. I LALALOVE Loving Hut’s food but this place was NOWAYJOSÉ! THETEAPOTWASSOOOOOODIRTYYYOMG!!!

So disappointed — I assumed same restaurant name = same food. I used to go to Loving Hut every day for the tofu spring rolls in the Westfield, it was my favorite lunch. My office moved and I figured Chinatown location was closer, and should be cheaper. Not the case. I ordered the spring rolls, and what I got was rice paper rapped around rice noodles, shredded carrots and iceberg lettuce with a side of peanuts floating on top of vinegar… no tofu, no basil, no daikon, no cilantro, no peanut sauce. So, should i assume this is not a chain?

I love knowing every bite is Vegan. Lots of flavor and nice and quiet space. I like eating in the corner… I think the employee spot but the nice lady always lets me eat there. Thank you for my healthy meal.

Loving Hut gets 100 stars in the category of «Clean, Reasonably Priced, Vegan» restaurants. If you are looking for delicious Asian food with soy protein that’s not greasy or over-seasoned, this is your place. With so many meat dishes in the area it’s refreshing that Loving Hut is open everyday and reliable to dine-in or take-out. The dishes are $ 7 – 8 so you can get a couple different ones for variety.

I am a bit disappointed in this place. I first tried this place because Golden Era was closed and was craving for vietnamese vegan food. I came to this place to try the vegan phở and was pretty disappointed in the flavor and items they put into the phở. There was barely anything other than clear bland broth, noodles, a few broccoli and fake spam. It felt like I could’ve made this at home. I am very happy that Golden Era has now reopened. Their vietnamese vegetarian cuisine definitely is a lot better than loving hut.

Super bland and starchy. I first saw this place when I was in New Zealand and was bummed that I didn’t get to eat there. When I moved to SF, I realized it was a chain and made my way there. Service was slow, food was bland and overpriced.

First of all, 5 stars for being a vegan restaurant with options of being gluen free. I have been going to Loving Hut in the mall pretty often and I thought how bad can the actual restaurant be? My friend and I came here last week for dinner and right off the bat, the service was pretty darn slow. It wasn’t even busy. There were like 5 other people in the whole restaurant. I am the kind of person that likes to wait to be seated and I felt so awkward seating myself seeing how the waitress didn’t even acknowledge my friend and I. A lady was waiting over 15 minutes, waving her hand at the waitress to pay her bill. So she had to go up and shove the money to her. Tsk tsk tsk. I am a waitress as well, so I get it if things get busy you don’t have time for everything, but the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. There were only 7 people in the whole place. The food came out pretty quick, which was a plus. But I gotta rate some of the food 1 star. For the appetizer, my friend and I got the golden nuggets, which were like soy nuggets fried up. I give that 5 stars definitely because the witches in the back kitchen are using some dark magic to make the soy nuggets take exactly like chicken strips. For the entrée, I ordered the eggplant tofu. I have been ordering this dish for years from Loving Hut. It has always been a hit or miss, but I didn’t think it was that bad. There was a puddle of oil in the clay pot and on my plate. I was really sad that the eggplant and tofu didn’t have any taste, aside from the oil. The food didn’t sit right with me when I first looked at it. Let’s just say my stomach agreed as well. So I give that 1 star. My friend ordered the Thai Tea and she loved it! I definitely recommend that. It was really good! Thumbs up for being vegan, and pretty darn magicial soy nuggets, but please people, be careful if you order the eggplant tofu.

I’ve been eating at this Loving Hut location over several years during my visits to SFO. Recently I have fallen in love with their spicy noodle soup, though I sub the seitan(the dark fake meat) for more tofu. The soup is so delicious, perfectly spiced, and the noodles are phenomenal. There are also a few things in the soup that I cannot identify, though I know the dish is vegan I have been too afraid to try them(both times during my last visit the person didn’t understand when I asked what those items were). Either way, the unidentified objects looked neat but I didn’t eat them, maybe next time. Staff have always been super friendly here too. This is definitely a place that I will continue to frequent for years to come.

Best vegan restaurant I’ve been to! Also. only vegan restaurant I’ve ever been to! Picked a safe option for the group, as half of it was veggie and we ended up really loving it. As a self-proclaimed tasty meat eater, I never thought I could like a fully vegan meal yet here I am! Extremely friendly service and really nice presentation. I personally love vegetables and found myself not missing the lack of meat in any of the dishes. We ordered mainly vegetarian dishes plus a couple of *shrimp/seafood* ones. which turned out to be quite good. Still not sure the breaded shrimp doesn’t have any shrimp in it because it sure looked and tasted the part. Overall a solid healthy option! Would certainly come by again, with or without the veggie crowd.
