This place was horrible. Fine Dining? Nope. Hole in the wall? Yes. Now I have NOTHING against Hole in the wall places but if you’re going to say you’re fine dining, then you should look, act, and feel fine dining. My co-workers used to go here everyday for breakfast. Why? I don’t know. Nothing was necessarily stand-out-in-your-face-yummy NOR was it dirt cheap to compensate for the lack of flavor. Not to mention the guy that worked here in the mornings was SOOOOOORUDE. Glad this place was closed.

AREYOUSERIOUS?! CLOSED?! :(WAAAAAAA I miss you abigails!!! COMEBACK! San diego native and I still have day dreams about your delicious plates, especially your eggplant sandwich. :(I hope you open up another café! This makes me so sad, I looked forward to eatting at your place everytime i visit the bay area, even though you were next to some aa and na classes with crazies walking around the street. Every breakfast plate I ever tried here was delicious and the eggplant sandwich was to die for. Service was always personable and amazing. I’ll miss you abigails!

In need of some nourishment before a workout, I popped into Abigail’s. I enjoyed a seriously good cranberry muffin — big and delicious, clearly homemade. The chai latte was on point as well. Some of the brunch items sounded very tasty — would like to return to check those out!

Killer location close to Union Street C0ug@r town, Comparatively low prices, nice décor, French menu, friendly service. How can it be 2 stars? Execution completely missed the mark. When I overheard the folks in the kitchen speaking in Cantonese, I thought heck even if its not authentic it better gimme a good hint of Cha-Chan-teng nostalgic flavor. Sadly when the plates showed up we were quite disappointed. Crab cake benedict has crab cakes that were«fluffy» yet not in a pleasantly tasting way. The potatoes looked like theyve been frozen, cooked, frozen again, and recooked a few times. My burger was outright miserable — a Costco kirkland puck. $ 10 for crab cake benedict and $ 7 for burger, I should NOT complain. But why bother skimp on quality of material to bring down the prices by a buck or two??? Look at the Ferraris and Porsches driving around the neighborhood? Why waste $ on the décor and call it a fine French dining? Je né comprends pas.

Today, I had the perfect french fry. Seriously. Perfectly crisp on the outside and light and fluffy inside. Seasoned to perfection. And fresh! Abigails is my new favorite café in Cow Hollow. I work on Union, so it is perfect! The other day I had a turkey sandwich here that was on a fresh-as-can-be baguette. It was nice and warm and tasted so… fresh! I love this place!

Went here with a few friends for brunch. At first we sat inside, but the blistering sun made us move inside. Service if I could remember was not memorable! One thing I could remember was that there was little to no ice in my water. I’m sorry but people in southern California enjoy their water with ice. You norcals are hill-larious. I ordered some kind of omelette. I dont remember what its called, but I remember it having lots of cardboard in it. mmmMMm cardboard. I hate adding ketchip to anything but my omelette was so bland I had to :( Well the potato that came with the meal was good… I guess… oh and strawberries! Thankfully they know how to cook a good batch of strawberries or else they would have been out of business by now. My party and my immortal self all agreed that the meal was fit for a queen… Queen of ants because those fools are the only one enjoying it in the garbage. where the food really belongs.

Whether you prefer french toast with bacon(standard) or strawberries(my approved substitution), you’ll love it. Three thick slices of house bread soaked in egg batter, it goes exceptionally well with either pig or fruit. Big thanks to the friendly running the counter for letting me make the swap. Big thanks to the kitchen for cooking up something so good.

Less than mediocre food and service. The waiter was late getting in so the bus boy had to fill in for him but end up the waiter was good but there was only 1 waiter for the entire restaurant. Ordered a pasta with cream white sauce ends up it had no flavor or sauce at all, just pasta, some oil and shrimp thrown on top. When we asked them they said it was olive oil sauce??? Medium well steak turned out to be rock hard tough. Most likely not a good dinner place, but I haven’t tried their brunch. But most likely I will not go back.

This is somewhere between a 2 and 3 stars, so I’ll say it was«Meh, ok.» Had the salmon and goat cheese crêpe… and literally, it was only salmon and goat cheese… oh, and ricotta too… yea… Salt, salt, and then some more salt… when I think salmon in breakfast form, I think salmon, cream cheese(goat cheese was fine) but maybe add in some onions, capers and tomatoes to give it some balance for crying out loud. The servers werent over the top friendly/customer servicey, but they werent rude or jerks, it just seemed like maybe it’s family owned and they were doing their parents/aunt/uncle/whoever a favor. And the décor makes it look like a nighttime/darkish atmosphere sort of place, like being there in the morning or for lunch doesnt exactly seem to fit… It wasnt awful, but I wouldnt go out of my way to go back. There are too many other breakfast places out there to try before I’d make *plans* to come back here.

The reviews of this place were higher than Home Plate. We came here on a Monday morning and maybe that’s why we had less than a great experience. our biggest issue was the server. Mr. Unibrow was not unfriendly, but he was real quiet. I can call him that because he not only sported a really thick unibrow, he had the same word written across his sweatshirt. I appreciate the fact that he embraces additional forehead hair, but I did not appreciate the slow service or the fact he was sporting iPod headphones. He was all alone outside of the cook. He worked the coffee bar, took cash, waited tables and delivered food. Half of our food was really good while the other half was so so. I had a delicious oatmeal with a fruit plate. Daughter had a good omelet. Son had a really stanky smoked salmon Eggs Benedict. Very smelly lox. My wife had baguette French Toast. Interesting menu but the food was just not that great. I’d assume the overall experience would be better with additional waiters but we were not all that impressed.

We shared the clam chowder, burger sliders, and pasta with shrimp here last night. Everything tasted wonderful, and we really appreciated the fact that the chef Dave checked in to see how everything tasted and took the time to chat with us for a bit after the meal too. Courteous, straightforward service from our server Lindsey too. Given the quality of the food, I was surprised that there was only one other customer here for dinner. The other reviews make it seem as though this is a brunch/breakfasty type place only… but go and check them out for dinner… you won’t be disappointed.

Was invited by a friend to have a dinner only groupon meal at this American and French fusion establishment. The joint is located conveniently in the hipster Marina district and it is a jarring collection of inconsistencies. With a name like bakery and café, I was expecting more then the four cheap tables outside with cheap white plastic chairs which weren’t being used in the rain. My spidey senses were tingling. Once inside the pastries on display were few and sitting in plastic. Perhaps the selection is better in the AM and afternoon(tingling). The spritely young woman who greeted me seemed new but made up for it with her enthusiasm. This place is small, folks. The dining area had about 9 setups with an elevated open kitchen to the side There was a larger backroom which wasn’t being used. Take a four place seating for more space. The table for two was too small. Bread was brought but there were no plates to catch the crumbs. The special for the night was meatloaf(tingling). We ordered the mussels appetizer and the rack of lamb to share which was a good thing because there would have been no room on the table for any more food then what we ordered. The mussels were ok but the cream sauce was yummy. The dish was plentiful and surprisingly filling. Then came the rack of lamb which they split into two plates for us. Wow. That was slamming good lamb. The frite were thick and crispy though I did not care for the truffle(?) dipping sauce. At one point the chef came out to ask if we liked the food. I got the feeling this was a mom and pop shop and I can respect that. Spidey senses calm. The entire meal: three stars

Solid 3 star. This café is cute and clean. Once you walk in, you’re greeted by displays of sweets & treats, pastries and tea. They have a seating area inside, which sits about 7 tables. Menu isn’t large but I was already sold by the reviews on Unilocal about the Crab Cake Benedict. Date went for the Pecan French Toast and it came drenched with syrup and a side of bacon. The french toast was alright, but the bacon was no bueno cause it came out burnt. My Crab Cake Benedict was nicely plated but the egg was a tad overdone and I didn’t like how the texture of the crab cake went with the English muffin. Too hard and crunchy– scraped the roof of my mouth. I actually had the option pick between Mama’s and Abigail’s. Whyyy did I choose Mama’s over Abigail’s? I should have known better. Errr… Well, at least now I know, because I have tried.

Oh man, please don’t waste your money. Besides the location, there’s really no reason to come here. I last came on a Saturday with a few friends, and while the small restaurant was pretty empty, we still waited more than 30 minutes for our food. We weren’t in any rush, so that didn’t really bother us, it was the offensive food. When the food came out, they brought one of my friends the completely wrong omelet(where when we asked the server, she couldn’t tell the difference and it was pretty clear). My food though really took the cake. After my two friends got their food, I waited five minutes before getting my crab cake benedict, with sauce on the side. Per the photo I uploaded, you’ll notice the crab cakes were overdone, along with the poached aka hard boiled egg. That’s right, the alleged«poached egg» was solid; the yolk did not run. Granted, I told the server, and she was willing to fix it(but at this time I was over breakfast and rather just go somewhere else). She did comp the benedict though, which was nice since I didn’t touch it. Maybe coffee here, but I recommend going to other places to eat.

Cute quaint unexpected mix of patisserie and café, Abigails is an ideal brunch spot with lots to offer. For our purposes we needed outdoor seating, welcoming of 4 legged creatures which was among us. I was able to score a meter spot right in front of the restaurant which set a good mood from the start. The waiter came out and grabbed us beverages — coffee for me — right off the bat. Nice big cups of hot dark brew. Good stuff. Then we ordered some brunchy items. I had the Tomato Basil Omelet which came WITH2 strips of bacon($ 8.75 ish). PERFECT combo. I LOVE it when bacon is included in breakfast items. My omelet was exactly how it sounds — lots of tomato, fresh basil and cheese. Simple but flavorful. And the bacon was good, a little fatty but not over crisped. And when DK peeked in the kitchen, he discovered that they sprinkle brown sugar over the bacon to give it a nice caramelized note. Yum. AT ordered the House Omelet($ 10), basically a Denver omelet with ham and bacon, avocados, mushroom, onions. DK tried Abigail’s Scramble, which also had bacon bits scrambled in. Both were tasty, served with seasoned potatoes, mixed fruit, and a slice of grain baguette. Service was friendly, food was solid, and company was pleasant. Can’t ask for more at brunch really. Even Maddy, the black lab, was fairly satisfied.

It was a beautiful Sunday afternoon and I enjoyed being able to have brunch outside. Abigails has tons of seating inside, despite how tiny their store front looks. Double points for not having to wait for a table! My only gripe is that their neighbor is Dry Dock, a mental counseling institution, and I saw a couple crazies talking to themselves. Mushroom crêpe — SOOO delicious! I love that most things on the menu contain mushrooms. I sense Asian ownership? Croque Madame — It was alright, prefer thicker juicier ham. And apparently their baked goods are amazing, I guess I’ll have to try it next time!

I love my job! It sends me to places like SF to find great places like this! I was recently assigned here for Fleet week and turned to Unilocal because I really had never stayed in the Marina/Cow hollow district. Well, Unilocal steered me right! This is a wonderful find, especially for good quality food if your on a budget. Which I think everyone is on these days. This is a quaint french influenced place that serves very affordable tasty breakfast! I had the Caprese omelet. Tomato, basil, and fresh(real) mozzarella. It came with fresh fruit, bread, bacon, and potatoes. The omelet was excellent, perfectly cooked and something I could not stop eating! It was SO good. Unfortunately I found diced tomato stems in it. The bacon, well it was also a disappointment. One piece was undercooked and one was borderline burnt. They have not mastered the cooking of bacon, but from what i ate, it was good quality bacon. The fruit was not the best fruit either, crispy and not ripe. The potatoes were good, but they were dry and needed ketchup. They were OUT of ketchup! Really? They brought us several bottles of nearly empty ketchup to try and pound on until a drop came out. Awkward. My friend had the mushroom egg crêpe, which i wish i ordered after seeing and tasting it. It was unbelievably good! The only problem was the egg was overcooked. I think they meant to serve it somewhat runny inside, but it was firm and almost a hard well done. The flavor was outstanding however. If the egg was runnier it would have been sheer magic. Hers came with a salad and potatoes. I also ordered a roast beef sandwich to go for a friend who was stuck at home. It came with fries, it was just OK. the meat was lean, but the bread left something to be desired. They also have little to go bags of home made cookies and assorted pre-packaged commercial teas. They had madeline’s, oatmeal cookies, biscotti, chocolate chip, cookie($ 2 each, kind of expensive for a small cookie) and macaroons. I almost bought some but i had to refrain due to dietary restrictions, but they did look very tasty. I also had a mocha, which was BIG but I was disappointed it was canned whipped cream. I expected a french place to have home made whip cream, if I had known it was ready whip i would have saved my calories and opted out of the whipped cream. We spent $ 11 each, VERY reasonable, i would definitely go back!

If I could have brunch for every meal, I just may. Coffee, latte and Americanos are all served in a giant cup. Very Central Perk-esque. $ 2 for a cup(or rather, a bowl with a handle) for organic coffee is fine by me. We had: Denver omelet Abigail’s scrambled eggs Eggs Benedict Crab cakes Benedict Each of the egg dishes came with a side of fresh fruit, wheat toast and potatoes. While the potatoes were a bit overcooked, and therefore dry and crunchy, the rest of the meal made up for it. It’s a hidden gem tucked next to City Tavern and across the street from the raw bar. The dishes had a nice presentation, and the restaurant felt small and quaint, but not squished. Service was excellent, and I love that there is no crowd to beat. Shh, don’t let the word get out!

Great food for a great price. Serves mostly upscale French and European food. The tea bags are cute little triangles. I really want to try the gelato. Has won multiple awards for their muffins. My favorite waitress is this beautiful, nice, sweet young thing… me.
