Non responsive administration that has gone downhill dramatically. Take your money (which is significant) and loved one someplace else.

The caregivers staff are all 5 star employees, and you know who you are! The location/​structure of the building are so welcoming, NO denying. But, the ‘upper’ management SUCKS, and you know who you are, TOO — not even a 1 star!

It is exiting to see a place with so much attention to the quality of elderly care. It is a good thing. The disturbing thing is that it bills itself as an institution that is way above the rest in its humanitarian approach. What a joke! If you do not have $ 4,000 to$ 7000 per month in your wallet, their humanitarian approach does not apply to you. This kind of «humanistic care for the elderly» is all business… run well.

AgeSong at Hayes Valley Care is a lovely space, terrific staff, lots of enrichment activities, and a terrific philosophy. My mother was there for about 9 months and we were very happy with the care she received overall. Very lovely staff! A couple of things to keep in mind: shared rooms don’t have a lot of space for personal items. There was a lot of management turnover while she was there, and I think they were struggling a little bit to find the focus, but meanwhile, she continued to receive wonderful care from the staff. The intern program is phenomenal! And the activities, particularly art, are really top notch. Great place that I would really recommend!
