Being Vietnamese and loving the 7 course beef cuisine, it was just amazing to find this restaurant and it is so delicious here!!! It’s always crowded with other Asians whenever I’m there, which is a tell tale sign that its authenticity is well worth the trip. I order it To go sometimes and it’s only 15 minutes wait. Absolutely delicious!!!

7 courses of beef is legit. Great place for group dinners. Highly impressed with the service, the staff was cracking jokes but in a very unassuming way. They carefully rearranged dishes on our table to make room for more beef. After the salad and shabu, the next plate will contain courses 3 – 6, all delectable grilled beef variations. Leave some room for the hot porridge palette cleanser at the end!

Great spot for Bo 7 Mon(7 courses of beef) in SF! You get a lot of tasty food for your money, and if you’re unfamiliar with the menu don’t be shy about asking about dishes that other tables around you may be ordering — last time we came, a table(owner’s family I believe) had a large plate of beautiful, huge spot prawns that weren’t on the menu. We asked about it and out came some super sweet, delicious prawns! Like any legit Asian restaurant, service gets spotty when this place gets busy but the staff tries to stay on top of things, so just keep your hand raised if you need something. Random note: the waiter(older guy who never seems to smile) never fails to entertain me! He looks grumpy but usually banters(more like quick 1-to-few liners) good-naturedly with me or my father-in-law in Cantonese.

Ordered the shrimp with rice cakes and crispy noodle dishes to go. Both withstood a 15 minute ride home and both were tasty and delicious. I particularly enjoyed the crispy noodle dish. Though a bit overpriced, the flavors and chow mein-ish noodles brought the value up. I’d order it again.

Loved this place. Is family owned since the 1980’s by a family from Saigon. We were novices with Vietnamese food and this Is very authentic. The owner’s daughter-in-law, who was managing at the time, and was so incredibly helpful with guiding us on what to order and how to eat it! The food tasted incredible. What a treat it was for us! Don’t pass this place up!

12.05.15 Belated birthday celebration with a group, and I had a random hankering for seven courses of beef. We haven’t been to Anh Hong in years, but great to know that it’s been such a staple and still as delicious as the last visit. Like.

Not worth your time or money. We went there for my friend’s birthday. The birthday friend and I ordered 2 Bo 7 Mon($ 24 each). The others ordered BBQ beef rolls with fried rice & salad, and a rice noodle side dish. The tall, older Vietnamese Chinese male waiter took our orders. He was rude and unfriendly throughout our meal. He alone would keep me away from Anh Hong. But he was not the only reason keeping me away. Here is my take on the Bo 7 Mon: –Celery salad: average at 8⁄10 –Beef fondue: lean round slides of beef, good 9⁄10 –3 types of beef rolls: fatty, greasy, MSG overdose, the lowest beef quality, 5⁄10 –Beef pâté: good 9⁄10 –Rice soup: average 8⁄10 The BBQ beef rolls with fried rice & salad: unremarkable, beef rolls have fillers in the middle(onions, sprouts, or both). We do not recommend Anh Hong Restaurant due to 4 reasons: –Bad neighborhood: urine-soaked and shit-filled streets, drug addicts and dealers, prostitutes, criminals, etc. –Average food with 3 nasty types of beef rolls — fatty, oily, over-MSG’ed –Rude waiter –Lack of cleanliness: dirty floor, sticky chairs, no paper towels to dry your hands in the restrooms. –Noisy

When someone tells you they’re going to bring you to get a «7 course beef meal», you would never imagine it to be at a Vietnamese restaurant. Was I disappointed? Absolutely not! But first things first, our meal was 100% entertaining. The owner(?), the man with the awesome sideburns, was hilarious. He bickered with a friend throughout our meal. To be fair, our friend did not know the basics of rolling a spring roll. Mr. Sideburns even provided us a table side demo to the art of spring rolling; basically unheard of at any Asian restaurant. In the end, we were absolutely thankful for his participation to a very interesting and entertaining meal! Now, back to the food. As a group of 12, we ordered 10 sets of the 7 course beef set and there was still too much food leftover! 1. Cold beef salad. I liked it! It was very refreshing and had the perfect tang. 2. Beef Shabu. Interesting, probably my least favorite. The fire for the shabu was too mild and the broth was a bit too adventurous for me. 3. Plate of 3 different beef rolls and 1 type of meatball. Seriously, the best part of the meal. The three different types of grilled beef rolls were divine! Everyone’s taste buds were dancing for the beef rolls wrapped in Hawaiian leaf and the grilled beef sausage. The rolls with the onions were the least desirable, they were too mediocre and had no oomph to keep us yearning for more. Note: Please eat the meatball with the shrimp chips! My friend made a mistake and ate it with a beef roll. Mr. Sideburns was not impressed, haha. 4. Beef Porridge A surprisingly light porridge! A great way to end a protein filled meal. Overall, a great meal with friends! You get to bond and laugh at all the ugly and pretty rolls that eventually end up in your stomach. I definitely recommend Anh Hong for those who are feeling adventurous! P. S. Street parking is extremely difficult on a Saturday night.

Bo 7 mon(beef 7 ways) is definitely a must get here. My bf and I came here because of the good reviews and it didn’t disappoint. Very good service — super quick and friendly. My favorite out of the 7 beef varieties were #4−7. Their beef wrapped in Hawaiian lot leaf along with that INCREDIBLYYUMMY dipping sauce still has my mouth watering. I may just come back for that alone. Also, very simple, but I like their porridge/rice soup too. The flavor was good. Overall, not the nicest looking exterior, but hey, the inside was clean and I had a good experience. So pretty much, I WILLBEBAAAACK :)

The restaurant was able to accommodate our large party of 7 adults and 4 kids for the 7 course beef dinner. I was able to eat most of it and wow was it good. If you don’t mind getting your hands dirty and if you love the Vietnamese spring roll wrap you will love this place. We ordered 4 or so of the 7 courses and added some sides like imperial rolls, grilled shrimp & squid(highly recommend — soooo damn good) and I can’t remember what else. Luckily my gf had already been so she knew the drill and did the ordering and showed us how it all worked. We definitely had an abundance of food and had a lot of leftovers to divy up & take home. Service is pretty attentive and the ambiance isn’t bad, just not in the best of neighborhoods.

Go to place for 7 courses of beef. Not as good as down South, but hey what can you do. Decent for what it is. If you haven’t done it yet, you must experience it at least once in your life.

Not your typical phở place, in fact they have none. If you come here for their rice plates or noodles, you will be disappointed. Their specialty is their seven course beef which is pretty good; you do get a decent amount of food. Their drinks are ok, so I would just stick with regular hot tea.

Service: UTTERLY shit. My friends and I literally waited 30 – 45 mins to get seated when there were empty tables around the WHOLE time. The servers just didn’t feel like cleaning. This cannot be emphasized more! OK. Whatever, the food comes. I order 7 course beef, my friends order the rice plate. I get the salad first, great! Tasted superb! OK, feeling excited for what is about to come. The steam beef comes(2 slices) had literally no taste, looks like some poverty beef you buy from a discounted Ranch 99(serious). Then comes the sausage links plate. This was awesome at the time, quite a bit of food as compared to 2 pieces of sad beef previous. I eat it, took another 25 mins to get ‘Beef Rice Soup’, or ‘congee’. Like other goers have said, this is MILDLY better than the sausage plate(IMHO) So, for those of you reading still; salad, steamed, sausage, and soup/congee…there should be more coming right? Nah. Sausage plate counted as multiples. Overall, the food here was above average; however it was not enough to cover my disdain for the shitty service. So bad that I actually went out of my way to create a Unilocal account just so I can neg it. Rest assured, I will NOT be coming back anytime soon.

Of all the places I’ve tried, this is probably my favorite 7 course beef course: Course 1: beef salad Course 2: raw beef to be cooked in a hot pot and wrapped in your own rice paper Course 3 – 5: different types of grilled beef to be wrapped in rice paper Course 6: beef meatball Course 7: beef porridge to finish off One order can feed 2 – 3 people. We also like to order the beef carpaccio Great for groups and family.

This was my first time trying the Seven Courses of Beef(dun dun dun!). The first thing I noticed was how busy this place was, which is typically a good indicator that the food is good. During our meal, the manager was attentive and answered any questions we had about the food. And, of course, the food was delicious. So what is the Seven Courses of Beef, you ask? 1. Beef salad 2. Thinly sliced raw beef that you add to hot broth to cook 3. Grilled beef wrapped in a Hawaiian leaf 4. Grilled beef rolls with onions and lemongrass 5. Grilled beef sausage 6. Steamed beef meatballs 7. Rice porridge with beef and peanuts and ginger With the meat, you are given uncooked rice wraps, a bowl of hot water to soften the rice wraps, and a plate with pickled vegetables and bean sprouts. With it, you get to make your own spring rolls, so make sure to wash your hands! I am so glad I got to try this. Thanks again for the recommendation, fellow friend!

Beef seven ways is no joke, so you and your stomach should prepare for some serious business when coming here. My friends and I arrived on a Sunday night for an early dinner, so we had no problem getting seated. By the time we left, the restaurant was packed and there were some people waiting to be seated. Between the 9 of us(7 of which were guys) we ordered 5 orders of the beef seven ways. At first the server told us that it would not be enough, but by the time we got through all 7 styles of beef, I felt like I was going to explode. I had never heard of beef seven ways before, and I am a total novice when it comes to wrapping spring rolls, but at the end of the meal I became a lean, mean, spring roll rolling machine. This is definitely worth a try if you’re in the area, but come hungry!

Sketchy neighborhood, but that’s just the Tenderloin for you! We ordered the seven course beef meal for $ 20.99 each for a party of three. For a meal in SF, this wasn’t too expensive. Well, not for the amount of food you get! This is a DO-IT-YOURSELF option, so be warned! I definitely had fun making my rolls with my friends! Unlimited veggies? Check. Water cups refilled? Check. Typical bad service for an Asian restaurant? Check. But hey, at least one of our servers was super funny! I thoroughly enjoyed it — lol. Dish #1: Interesting. The salad was good and flavorful. Dish #2: Beef in Fondue. Dish #3−6: I don’t remember the names, but I particularly liked one of them. I wasn’t a fan of the fish cake, which was very bland. I was fairly disappointed since I typically love fish cake. Dish #7: Forgettable. Not flavorful. Tasteless. Flavored porridge was poorly done. The veggies were hit and miss. Some of them were old. Some were fresh, but they were definitely not consistent. It was hit and miss. The fish sauce was good. I didn’t like the shrimp paste too much though. I usually make shrimp rolls at home and preparing all the ingredients can be a tremendous hassle — not to mention how much time it takes. If the opportunity comes again and if I’m lazy, I wouldn’t mind shelling out the few extra bucks to come here again.

I ate here for the first time on the weekend from a recommendation from my nail salon(they’re Vietnamese of course so they definitely know the best Vietnamese places to eat). Let’s just say they were right, but don’t expect bells and whistles. You’re down to eat here! Their specialty of the 7 course beef is fabulous, the fondue beef is fabulous and finishing with beef congee, they sure have the flavoring right! They replenish your greens, sprouts and herbs plates as required. The key ingredient to these meals are fish sauce and they make good fish sauce however it does smell the place up so if you’re ok with that, then you’ll love it. I loved it and will definitely come back!
