Bay Blend Coffee And Tea

I have no idea how this place has 2 stars. I would imagine the customer service from a prison cafeteria to be more pleasant. The old guy who runs the place is visibly frustrated whenever I ask to buy something from his establishment, as if he is doing me a favor.
Twice in a row I have asked for two smoothies, he will only make one because he is too lazy. I am all for small businesses but I would much rather a well run Starbucks there instead. The place is dead so I am amazed it is even still there.

Food and coffee mediocre. But the service was just the worst — I was made to feel guilty for disturbing the two guys! How dare we order breakfast and coffee while they are trying to relax in the morning! It bugs me how conveniently this place is located but we’ll be finding somewhere else for breakfast

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!
I am reporting this place to the authorities right after I’m done with this review. The guy simply wiped the spilled milk off the floor and put the wipe on the sandwich breads. I got up from my chair and warned them. The guy said ok ok we were not going to use it. Dude! It’s on the freaking breads!
Before this incident the other guy counted a load of $ 1 and made a sandwich without washing his hands touching all over the ingredients. I bet he is not washing his hands after toilet too.
The café is incredibly dirty and disgusting. And the people who work there especially the old guy have a super weird attitude. Almost like he is angry that I’m buying something from there.
It’s such a shame that they are wasting such a nice spot. These people simply have no idea about what they are doing. Why invest all that money in there if you’re going to turn it into shit? I hope someone else buys this café and gives the love it needs.

Bay Blend has the usual offerings for a café. noonish, only one customer, 2 if the one leaving is counted. vibes felt odd, just went for the coffee.

I ordered a sandwich from this place. The guy failed to wash his hands after he was using his computer, continued to pull out his chair, and part way through making it touched the garbage can. Health problems written all over this place.

Nice, relaxed atmosphere. Great for getting some work done. Interesting mix of Mediterranean, middle-​eastern, and pop music

I was attending a training across the stress and wanted coffee to keep my warm stomach. I went in here and asked if they had decaf and guy said yes. My reason for giving 1 star… decaf was bland, like hot water with a bit taste of coffee. What irritated me more is that about a quarter through my coffee, I started feeling jittery. I know decaf coffee still has caffeine but I’ve been drinking decaf the past few weeks and no way it makes me feel jittery. Plus why would a bland coffee would make me feel jittery. I would understand if it was a strong decaf coffee. My suspicion is that it might not have been decaf, just a regular coffee that’s super watered down.
My lesson, I’ll just order decaf tea unless I’m really sure they’re using decaf. Boo

Bad customer service. The old man tried to play dumb. I come here with respect. I said that I come here to pick up my order and I showed him my confirmation number. He played dumb, he asked what is this about? He acted like he didn’t want to get what I order. Come on, don’t pretend you don’t know. No wonder you have a lot of bad review on Unilocal.This is not how you treat the customers; no one will come back with your dishonest service.

Maybe it’s because some other person was working the register, but I got a completely different vibe from this place. The guy was really nice, served up free muffin samples because they were about to close, made me a great Mediterranean sandwich, and brought my friend and I water with limes. The couches are super comfy and we had the entire place to ourselves – a great way for me to get work done at the end of the day. I didn’t try the coffee, so maybe that’s a thing. But it was a really pleasant experience here, and was exactly the low-​key, quiet and productive environment I needed.

I went to get a coffee at Bay Blend about two months ago, and I hated everything about this place. The service was awful, the coffee tasted like crap. No thank you.
I have been avoiding this place since then but today, I had to grab coffee quickly before work and my partner and I noticed it was a different person working there. We thought, let’s give it a try again.
Well, nothing changed, it still horrible. The guy that served us this morning was so awful. He seemed annoyed because we were ordering something. If you don’t like to serve people, don’t work in a coffee shop. Finally, the coffees were disgusting and mine was only half full. I am usually a good tipper, but the service at that place doesn’t deserve one cent.
AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COST!!!
I cannot believe this place is still open!

It’s not fancy blue bottle or four barrel, but I find it definitely good enough to drink and the seating area is comfortable for me to do work or read on my lunch break.
The reviews talk a lot about the service and I’ve been told the morning manager is not the best, but the guy that works in the afternoon (the only time i have personal experience visiting) is the best. Probably the sole reason for these four stars.
He is a genuinely nice person and seems to really care how your day is going when he asks. I didn’t come in for at least two months (traveling and work schedule change); he remembered me and asked how everything had been since he saw me last. It seems he has that relationship with everyone that comes in.
I’ll definitely continue to come in for an afternoon caffeine pick me up and friendly hello.

This croissant must be several days old. It is hard, stale, and tastes like sour milk. I didn’t know a croissant could be this disgusting.

yes they do accept credit cards. I used my debit card there today. this place has super friendly counter people, fair prices, good coffee, awesome seating, clean public restroom, fastest wifi I have found at any coffee shop yet.
I like this place and it has a good feel to it. I rather ride my bike here to get coffee than go to any of the big franchise coffee shop that are all over.

One might rate this place poorly because because the coffee tastes like ass. Or perhaps it’s because the pastries are overpriced, days old, from a Costco 48 pack, and wrapped in cellophane. Or maybe it’s because the guy who runs the joint is somehow both inattentive *and* surly.
There’s a need for unpretentious, cheap coffee in this neighborhood. There are places within a 2 block radius to find it. This place, unfortunately, is not the place to go.

I didn’t read the reviews before I came here and wish I had! Everyone’s right about the service — total crap. The dude does not seem happy to be serving anyone. Only stopped in on since it’s on my way to work.
I got a bagel and I’m not sure if it was fresh considering everything is wrapped in saran wrap. Who knows how long it’s been sitting there! Also, it was $ 2.50. I think I could have gotten a cheaper bagel at starbucks: P

I walked in and wanted to immediately leave, but I accidentally made eye contact with somebody so I thought it would be rude to leave.
Completely «meh» latte. Not coming back, obviously.

Very strange experiences… been here on several occasions now. Every time, the man behind the counter seems completely uninterested in serving me; he sits behind his laptop without even looking up to see if anyone might be waiting. I said «hello?» hesitantly, as I felt strange needing to even say something FIRST as a CUSTOMER to get at the least, addressed.
Have asked for a simple iced coffee and cappuccino… I swear he doesn’t hear me when I ask for nonfat milk because he takes out the whole milk… n then because its label is turned to the other side, he is able to lie and say whatever.
During the whole ordeal, he had the audacity to go back and forth between making the drink and going back to check (whatever) on his laptop… no words.
I kept coming back hoping that «it was just a bad day/​it is better»…but no.

New apartment always means new cafes!
Been here almost everyday now & it’s great, quiet and I was even asked if I needed a re-​fill of water!
I love that it’s fairly quiet & not a scene (yet). The big windows are great to help me think while working too.

What’s wrong with anti-​Starbucks? If these were the days before crowds of lab rats were waiting in line for their venti mocha frappacinos and marshmallow dream bars, they likely would not drink real coffee if someone paid them to. However, Bay Blend is the way a good coffee shop was in the days before people got used to the new chain service style. At Bayblend, it’s WYSIWHG, but at least you will have a satifsying experience if you are not a coffee snob who sets the bar at a prejudicial level before you even experience it. By the way, haters should stay away. The owner is one of the nicest guys we’ve ever met.

This has to be a front for organized crime. That’s the only logical explanation for how they can afford to stay open.
Worst latte I’ve ever had. I swear they pissed in it.
One star for good customer service and keeping it clean. One star for having wifi and outlets so that I don’t have to actually rent office space.
