Beekind Honey Shop

I love this little honey shop in the ferry building.
With cute little plush bees they let you sample their fresh honey which I use as a natural sweetener in my cooking.
Friendly staff, and a cute booth to boot!

With a name like BeeKind you would think the store clerk would be kind. Ha! Far from kind. One star for bad service.

What a wonderful thing to do… taste honey before you buy! I selected the Tupelo… complex, not too sweet.
Unbelievably beautiful candles, a great selection… of course I came home with a jar.
Pining away for the candles, I will have to return for them.
Love, love, love!

This little shop is incredible. The honey selection is out of this world, with varietals of many, many kinds. The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgable and helpful in finding the right item for you.
You can taste from a big selection of local honeys and find the flavor you like best.
My wife and I gave small BeeKind jars of honey to our guests at our outdoor Sonoma County wedding, which was a huge hit.
I give my highest recommendation to this unique and delightful corner shop in the amazing ferry building. You won’t be disappointed!

Great family owned shop inside the Ferry Building. They have samples of so many flavors of honey to try. They also have wonderful candles too! Was so glad it was still there when we were in the area in Oct 2014. (we found this shop back in Dec 2013)

Beekind is located at one of the intersections in the building. It’s a one stop shop for all things bee-​related. They carry honey sticks, different flavors of honey, honey comb as well as pure beeswax candles in various sizes and shapes. The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable, and after spending some time with them you truly do want to buy something. Last time i got a gorgeous fern pillar pure beeswax candle. I would like to buy a flavored honey next time.

I’m almost finished with my 12 oz jar of honey! I love my lavender love honey. I’ve been enjoying a lot more tea, I put it on my butter toast, my parfait, almonds etc.

The Mr was looking for some local honey to bring back to his parents in Germany & Beekind was an easy choice
And since we couldn’t even think about getting something for them w/​out getting something for ourselves as well, our choice was the Wildflower Honey
Found it to be light & very sweet — just like a flower… and in our extreme-​novice opinions, we thought this was a honey better on toast or over fruit… maybe a goat cheese
It would probably be too sweet for something like ice cream & we prefer something stronger /​bolder for our coffee
But would totally love to come back & try their Lavender Honey — I’m a sucker for all things lavender & it is an absolutely GREAT addition in coffee!

The chai honey was exquisite but purchased the tupelo, which is stellar! The sales gal offered multiple samples to my two kids… who are very particular when it comes to their honey! Will definitely shop here for my honey needs again when I’m visiting SF!

San Francisco Wildflower Honey is literally the only honey I’ve ever enjoyed. The other varieties are tasty but this one is the sweetest. $ 5.50 for 3 oz.

I picked up jars of chai honey and lavender honey. Service was friendly. Lots of sampling allowed. I also tried their honey balsamic vinegar — that was good. I wish I bought it!

I never realized how much i love honey until I stopped at this shop. The sales associates are very helpful and know great ways to incorporate honey in food. One of my favorite tips is to use the lavender honey on vanilla ice cream. The honey will freeze, so it is best to use a little with each spoonful.
If you are every near the Ferry Building stop by and see what they can suggest for you!

I always get samples here when I walk by. The Marin honey is pretty good. I got my dad a jar since he puts it in his coffee and it was $ 13 for a jar that is about 4 inches tall. The honey sticks are 3 for $ 1. The workers here are always friendly!

This little stand has every kind of honey and honey-​related item you could possibly want, including giant edible pieces of honeycomb in pretty, clear boxes. The girl who works there is so nice!

«Honey!» the doorman at my hotel said, «you have to try the honey. If you do one thing at the Ferry Market, you have to try the honey.»
And so started my quest for honey at San Fran’s foodie heaven.
Like a little piggie sniffing for truffles, I stuck my nose up in the air and started sniffing for the sweet golden nectar… more like we just walked around and honed onto the BeeKind stall.
With so many varieties, from blueberry to orange blossom, it’s amazing to see how crucial the environment influences the taste of honey.

Guy with the glasses, you are very kind and patient. I think half the reason I bought some honey was because you are so nice!
All the samples I tried were wonderful and I wish there was a sampler to buy ALL of them just to try them all. 15 – 20 3oz jars haha or I guess I could have just tried all the honey sticks.
Ended up getting some Tupelo for home and some as a Christmas present. Foodies will love this honey!

Winnie would love Beekind Honey shop. He’d be their best customer. He might have a hard time finding it; it’s kind of a Ferry Building pop-​up across from Peet’s. I walked by a few times looking for it before I followed my nose and made a beeline for the honey.
Honey, this is good honey (I’m talking to you, Sean J.) I had a groupon so I could maximize my purchases and now I have honey to spare! I didn’t catch the girl’s name but she was sweet and explained a lot about Beekind’s honey and provided sample upon sample. Pooh would be proud!
The Sebastopol wildflower and California spring wildflower are now mine and destined for my belly-​er, honeypot. They also have honeysticks, one of my favorite childhood treats.

This year, my new year’s resolution is to be nicer. So I think this business’ name of «bee kind» is fitting for my first review of 2011.
According to some holistic/​hippie website I found on the internet, honey is one of nature’s super foods, and can even help with seasonal allergies. Even though it is winter time and I am not currently suffering from seasonal allergies, reading this still caused me to jump out of my chair, put on my stretchy pants, and run to bee kind honey store immediately.
When I got there, I tasted a couple of their honeys which was pretty cool. I ended up choosing the SF wildflower honey because I am somewhat certain that I am allergic to the pollens of SF wild flowers. As a bonus, I hear that the honey will also help anti-​oxidize those free radicals that I hate so much.
They also sell candles, lip balm, lotion bars, honey sticks, and chocolate. I rate this place 5* because I really enjoyed spending my hard earned $ 14.50 on a jar of honey here and it’s the only place I was able to find in SF that sells local honey to combat my allergies. Even though I didn’t really look very hard.

How can it be that no one has raved about this delicious honey on Unilocal yet???
I picked up the Oregon blackberry a few weeks ago and have been putting it on everything ever since. It’s especially delicious with bread/​crackers and brie. Nom nom nom…
Stop by on your farmer’s market trip and taste a few free samples. Be careful though — once you do you will definitely want to take a bottle home for yourself!
