Good tacos, but way overpriced. The margins on these is enough to allow the owners to afford San Francisco rent! What would these tacos sell for in other cities? $ 1.75 is my guess(and guess what? at my local taqueria( ) in Wixom, MI sells the identical tacos for $ 1.69).

Unfortunately, I was on a mini eating tour on this morning and I had already eaten a few other places. If that were not the case, I would have smashed about a half dozen their tacos in my face. As it were, I only had one fish taco. A very delicious fish taco. This is probably the best fish taco I have had outside of the San Diego area. They also have a very nice selection of fresh made salsas. That scores extra points.

I love this place! Great food, cool service, and the BEST habanero salsa ever(the bright yellow one for those who like it hot!). We even bought their cookbook and have been able to re-create some of our favorites at home. If you want great Mexican in a casual environment, Tacolicious is fantastic.

Tacolicious is my go to place on Thursdays! Very conveniently located outside the Ferry building. Make sure u get there little earlier than 12 else there is a huge line. The tacos are good. Wish they were a little less greasy. I usually go for the 3 for $ 10 tacos. Overall, pretty good for a quick grab and go.

I am really torn between 2 ½ or 3 stars. Ill round up for good measure. Came here to the ferry building because my co-workers wanted some tacos. These two girls bragging about how bomb diggity tacolicious is. I am always up for good mexican eats and felt like SF couldn’t dissapoint(I mean they have el farolitos) Coming in with high expectations because the place is named TACOLICIOUSITHADTOBEDELICIOUS. I ordered 4 tacos. One carnitas, one braised beef, one chicken and one fish taco. First taco i grabbed was the fish taco. Gotta say. pretty SOLID. fish was light and fluffy and batter was not overbearing. Next up I looked at my tacos. no chicken taco.weird.had gotten 2 braised beef and one carnitas taco… ehh ok Im still game! Had the braised beef taco, meat is tender and soft but the bottom tortilla was covered in grease. kinda nasty so I just took it off. Then came the carnitas. A little bit dry to my liking. Maybe I am a bit biased but as a guy living in East San Jose and have authentic deliciously cheap mexican food at my finger tips at all times of the day(Story Rd holla atcha boy!) Tacolicious was not so licious to me. I will say the meats are marinated well, but for the price of 3 tacos for $ 10 I just felt wanting more.

Eh more like greasy-liscious. I put off writing this review for some time now, due to the thought of nauseousness every time I recall the cooled grease chunk flavors from my taco order. As I noted in a prior post, I tend to steer clear from crazy hybrid names including such words as liscious. However, as a regular vendor at our luncheon’s local markets, I thought I’d give them a benefit of the doubt try out. Three short rib tacos for roughly ten bucks. Portions weren’t skimpy, so that was much appreciated up until the first bite. There wasn’t much flavor besides the oils dripping from the filling. Just imagine bland orange oil. By my second bite I was already over it, but still had another two and a half to go. I hate wasting food and I was hungry. Big mistake as I spent the second half of the day feeling nauseous, just hoping the contents of my stomach wouldn’t come back up. Such a shame as the actual meat quality melted in your mouth due to the slow cooker. If only it weren’t slow cooking/soaking in grease as opposed to an actual marinade.

I am a fan of tacos from the Taco trucks, mainly from the taco trucks in East Oakland. Today a co worker and I took a walk for lunch and ended up at the Ferry Building. After browsing at the various vendors, my co worker mentioned she’s had Tacolicious before. So, I decided to give it a shot. And boy am I glad I did. I am definitely a fan now and I will be seeing them Thursdays periodically! Although a little pricier than my usual, it was definitely worth the financial district lunch prices. So I cant complain. For sure worth my $ 10(for 3 tacos)

Tacolicious makes fantastic, street-style tacos in the comfort of Financial District. Honestly, every single thing I’ve tried here has been great. The chicken is saucy, the beef is perfectly tender, the tomatillo salsa is zingy, the chipotle salsa is fiery, and the chips are crispy and delicious salty. My personal favorite is to build a fully-loaded nacho plate– chips, piled high with a combination of beef and chicken, covered with cheese and drenched in salsa. My only issue is the corn tortillas. I know, I know, corn tortillas are authentic but they’re just so dry and crumbly. Even when they’re fresh(and I’m sure they’re fresh here because I have seen them go through bags and bags), they taste stale. How is that even possible, and how can a man get some flour tortillas up in this joint?! Tortilla issue aside, I’ll keep coming back to Tacolicious because everything else is just so darn good!

Tacolicious, like most of the Ferry Building booths, has a long line… but the difference? They get your food out to you quicker than the places next to them! It’s tacos! The tacos themselves? Very flavorful and packed full of filling. They certainly did not skimp. The short rib was a bit of a surprise as I thought it would be like the Korean kalbi meat but hey, it was still good. The carnitas was very traditional tasting with that unique fried texture and juiciness oozing out of it. That was legit carnitas and I’ve certainly tried my fair share in my life. Lastly, the chorizo and potatoes… an odd combo but chosen because I like chorizo. The potatoes added more starch than I usually would like so I may swap this out with something else next time. This cost me $ 9 for the three tacos plus a $ 1 tip and I think I polished it all off within 10 minutes after sitting down to eat all of it. I recommend eating the meat first before eating the entire taco and meat together. It will give you a sense of the flavor and make it easier to eat since they give so much filling on each taco. Another $ 10 Ferry Building lunch… done!

Oh damn, I think working by the Ferry Building and not being super busy means I’ll be gaining weight again with all the AH-MAZING food they have for the farmer’s market. I got three tacos and a drink. They give pretty good portions and was delicious. 1) Short rib: oh god, it was delicious. So oily though, but they gave so much meat and is delicious. 2) Carnitas: So deliciously tasty and moist. Not as oily as the short rib, but so good. 3) Chorizo and potatoes: This is one is so good too. All three tacos were delicious and definitely something I’ll have again. Probably have the same tacos too. The drink I ordered was a Mango Agua Fresca. Definitely a great meal with my work cousin. Will definitely have again!

Yummy! Tacolicious is DELICIOUS. Every Thursday at the Ferry Building there is a bunch of food stands and more shops are set up. There is always a ton of people but even more so when its nice out. Tacolicious definitely is one of the spots with the longer lines but it goes pretty fast. Waited food(line and for food) at peak lunch time(noon) for about 20 minutes. The tacos LOOK small but they are full of meat and flavor. Its 3 tacos for $ 9.50 or $ 3.50 each. They have all different kinds of meat– chicken, beef, carnitas, and even vegetarian. I got carnitas, short rib, and taco of the week which was chicken with cilantro and that was my favorite. 3 ended up being too much so next time I’ll get 2. They also have chips/salsa, fresh squeezed fruit drinks, etc.

They were part of the Sunnyvale’s 2nd Annual Fry’s Food Truck event and I was excited to try their food. The didn’t have a ‘truck’ per se, instead a tent and a grill, but because they forgot their netting that surrounded the tent, they didn’t open for business until a good hour and a half or so into the event(talk about losing major business! Is this their first rodeo?). Choice of three tacos for $ 9 so I was excited about that. What we swallowed: I am not sure what was going on but I think they were having an ‘off’ day. First they forget their netting and then I think they may have forgotten their slotted spoon as all our tacos were SWIMMING in juice. We tried to pick up the taco and the bottom tortillas just fell apart being completely drenched. We resorted to eating the meat with a fork least we want dribbles of juice down our hands and arms. No thanks. BRAISEDSHORTRIBTACO: This was good but I was expecting to be WOW’d. Maybe I should have just expected nothing and it woulda been alright. CARNITASTACO: These were the best tacos of the group. They had a really good, smokey flavor and if I just closed my eyes and imagined they weren’t so runny and had a bit of crispy texture to them, they may have been the best carnitas I’ve ever tasted.(Open eyes…) CHICKENTACO: These were a bit mushy and I couldn’t get over the soupy flavor. I think the fact they they had to wait so long to open ‘cuz of their net ordeal really messed up the cooking time of the meat. They were sitting in square warmers on the grill the whole time they were waiting for the net to arrive. When they were plated the meats were overcooked and held too much water, causing the meat to be really runny and ruining the whole dish. The only meat we finished was the carnitas. We dumped the rest.

Do not just get the chicken taco. Do not just get the potato taco. Do not just get the lamb taco. Bring a friend and sample all three. They make it easy for you. Each comes with two small tortillas, practically inviting you to split them to create your own little taste of euphoria. Simply bursting with flavor. The Farmers’ Market ambiance and Bay Bridge views only help matters. Tacolicious? Try Tacodelicious. (Originally posted 9÷25÷09. Unilocal can’t move the review from the Marina location. I’d heard great things about this particular booth, so I stood in line on a gorgeous(ly rare) sunny day in SF, when I was craving some tacos. I opted for the: Guajillo braised beef short rib taco: just OK, kinda dry Traditional Carnitas: the unexpectedly tastier one of the bunch Meh. I mean, it’s good, but it’s not as mind-blowing as I hoped it would be.

I had eaten at the restaurant in the Mission, so when I saw this food stand outside the ferry building today, I gravitated to it like a moth to an outdoor light fixture. Unlike a moth, I was not zapped to death upon reaching the stand and instead was greeted by a friendly smile. I ordered a taco box with 1 carnitas, 1 short rib, and 1 beer chicken. It was ready quickly and after a squirt of hot sauce I was on my way. The braised short rib is still my favorite. Holy cow is that a good taco!(Pun not intended.) The carnitas and the chicken were also solid though. I wish they had the beer battered fish taco available at the stand — I remember that being really tasty. At $ 9.50 I wouldn’t say it was a bargain, but it was one of the delicious lunches I’ve had in a long time. Seriously, why are corn tortillas so good? Also, they are not skimpy with the meat and compared to other ferry building options, this is a good value in terms of fullness: price ratio. P. s. they now accept credit cards

Maybe I’m just a taco snob… but what’s the hype about? I totally appreciate food stands, food trucks, and the like. But there’s just something about this place that just didn’t quite click with me. As I stood in line on Thursday, I was totally enticed by all the food people were carrying away from this tent. The tacos looked saucy and packed full of flavor. At $ 9 for 3 tacos of your choice, I’m thinking these tacos must really be tacolicious to be $ 3 a piece. Unfortunately, I was not that impressed. Visually, they were amazing. The colors just popped, and it smelled delicious too. The taste? Eh, not so much. They were pretty oily and salty… I took my first bite into the carnitas taco and a stream of red oil gushed down the side of my finger and down the side of my chin. I probably looked like a complete taco amateur… sad… Once you get over how oily it is, then you realize how salty it is too. I’m hoping it was because I had a bad batch. With a 3.5 star average rating, people must like it for some reason. Another downer: they are cash only…

I gave this place a try because i’ve pretty much sampled everything at Ferry Building’s Thursday farmer’s market. 3 Tacos for $ 9. One for $ 3.50. Not really my kind of taco. Nothing really blew me away here and i felt like they all lacked some sort of flavor. I tried: –Chorizo & potato taco(my fave, but still didn’t give me that extra umph i was expecting) –Braised beef short rib(least fave. not a fan of slow cooked cow, i guess) –Carnitas(not bad). I found the tacos to be huge and kind of hard to eat. The filling/meat was overflowing as i tried to bite into it. That’s not necessarily a bad, thing but i hate having greasy fingers on a windy day(you’ll understand if you have long hair)!

Gimmicky yet oh-so-appropriately named, Tacolicious is everything is name promises it to be. I finally caught them at the Thursday Ferry Building farmer’s market, and the line wasn’t terribly long. In my usual fashion, I sampled a bit of everything. And the 3 for $ 9 taco special made it easy and affordable. I decided on one of each: guajillo braised short ribs, chicken, and a slow-marinated lamb. On each taco, the meat was piled on generously with just enough cilantro and onion to add flavor but not so much that it detracted from the flavor of the meat. The lamb taco was their daily special so I don’t know if they have it all the time. But I hope they do because it was SOOO delicious and juicy. I am an absolute fan!

I doubt I’d ever stop by the brick and mortar Tacolicious since I’m over the Marina crowd but their taco stand at the Thursday Ferry Plaza Farmers Market is legit. Plus, the line was only 5 minutes long, compared to the 30 min eternity for Roli Roti’s porchetta next door. 3 tacos for $ 9 or $ 3.50 ea. They come taqueria style with the two corn tortillas. cilantro, onions, and lime. Ordered —( ) The meats are tasty but their home made salsas make their tacos a little bit above average. I’m a fan of their spicy yellow habanero, it’s seriously hot! You can’t go wrong with the mild green tomatillo or medium chipotle either. Make sure you bring some toothpicks for the Guajillo-Braised Beef Short Rib. The beef was tender but beef strands get stuck in your teeth. Definitely not a good look when walking around the Ferry Building or when presenting ppt decks back at the office. 3.5 beef strands in your teeth.
