At 1am it was the best decision ever. Fat slice of pizza and bomb Mint gelato! Owner was patient and super nice especially with the hyphy night crowd!

Pizza is good enough to hold you over if your hungry but nothing to write home to mom about.

I don’t know what people are taking about! This is my absolute favorite pizza in SF! The slices are cheap and so yummy! The combo slice is literally piled with toppings and the sauce is so good! I come back again and again, never any issues. The gelato is equally delicious. It has a viscous consistency, reminiscent of Dubai ice cream. Mmmmm. Def try it if you want a slice!

DONOTGOHERE! First of all I’m a really big Unilocal reader I pretty much look every place up where I go. I took a trip to San Francisco for my brothers birthday and we went around exploring. I Unilocaled our dinner place which had good reviews. As the night went on we walked around and came across this place. Now they had clients and I wanted a slice because I was drained. There was a line and people were eating inside enjoying the huge slices. I only ordered one that was big enough for me. Their customer service wasn’t the greatest but it’s a small place they were busy I really didn’t care. Anyways my hotel was like a block away I got to my room ate it called it a night. The next day was probably the worst day of my life. I was supposed to drive back to LA but that wasn’t going to happen. Unfortunately my brother and his friend didn’t have licenses so that was definitely not going to happen. I tried to wait it out but I was nauseous and throwing up every 15 min. I had to stay another night. I had a fever I was basically stuck another day in San Francisco in a hotel room feeling like death. And I know it wasn’t my dinner because my brother and his friend had the exact same thing I had. The only difference was that I stopped here for 1 slice of pizza that ruined my trip. My biggest mistake was not checking the reviews of this place before like I do for everything. I just assumed crowded place must be good. Sorry for this long review I had to vent because I’m still suffering from this weekend.

Came in here in the evening. There was a 5 minute wait in line, so I thought the place must be good. Well, I got the lasagna, which came with some garlic bread. Shortly after eating I had one of the worst bathroom-worthy episodes in my life(and no, it wasn’t anything else I ate). Besides that, the lasagna was burnt and the garlic bread was moist and tasted like a cheap slice of bread. Can’t say it was worth the price. :(

Came here after a giants game and some pretty substantial drinking. Always nice to have a hot quick slice of pizza for the belly. Pizza is pretty good for a hot and ready style service and the fact that it’s open late makes this place awesome. I rank it 4 stars for what it has too offer; just don’t expect this to be the best gourmet pizza joint.

This is the worst pizza I have ever had from a restaurant that specializes in pizza. The pizza looks and tastes like it was a frozen pizza bought from a grocery store. Do yourself a favor and stay away. On the other hand, the gelato looked great!

Popped into this hole in the wall pizzeria for a quick lunch. They offer a dozen or so varieties by the slice on their menu along with some salads. The staff were indifferent to me but got the job done. My Hawaiian slice of pizza was quite tasty and took care of my lunchtime hunger.

The first time I came here I ordered their nuggets and were AMAZING. Also had their raspberry gelato which was AMAZING. I was told they had garlic fries so I went back last night and BAM! Totally differently cooked food from before. The nuggets this time were overcooked and I did not eat them. Their garlic fries made me INSTANTLY have diarrhea. I couldn’t even eat anything there. Such a disappointment. I was told the pizza there is ok, but I’ve never tried it so I can’t say. I will probably not come back unless for the gelato.

This is an embarrassment to pizza. I never thought i would say that because i love pizza. This pizza slice right here… was the oldest crustiest dryest most stale garbage slice of pizza ive ever had… Heath my warning lol little caesars pizza taste better. This place reminded me of the public school pizza. My body felt like it was dismantaling after eating this garbage. All the ingredients tased cheap. Like they use the canned ragu sauce. The bread was also stiff and burnt. It littery tasted like they reheat a week old pizza. The gelato was actually good though but since this is mainly a pizza place im basing my rating on the pizza.

I always go here before or after hitting up Ruby Skye across the street. It’s not the best pizza around, but I think it’s pretty good. Kind of expensive for what it is, but it satisfies my drunchies. I get full off a slice and a half. I usually order the pesto, and combo slices. Service is fast, and there’s usually a place to sit to inhale your food real quick before going home.

Its Two Star Tuesday again!!! For Late Night Drunchies, Bella Lucca is located at Geary & Mason in the«Tendergroin». We dropped by here after closing down Vessel nearby. In addition to pizza, BL also has a full menu of sandwiches, wings, salads, and gelatos. I ordered a combo slice($ 3.95), but wish I had not. The crust was horrible! It wasn’t crispy, and even if it was it would have been bad. You could taste the inferior products in the dough. Additionally, the price was at least $ 1.50 too much for the size: 1 Star. The ambiance is nothing to speak of, but there are several spaces to sit down: 3 Stars. The service was actually pretty good. The cashier was nice(although we couldn’t tell if the Flip was male or female. I guess it was befitting for the part of town we were in — LOL!). In addition, the pizza came out quickly: 3 Stars. When I would rather go to Jack-in-the-Crack a couple doors down for 2 tacos/$ 1, you know the place is bad. Avoid BL like the Bubonic Plague and do what all of us have done before(even if we won’t admit it): I’ll have 5 orders of 2/$ 1 tacos please — LMAO!!!

Bella Luca is clearly a place that survives completely on drunk food visits. Located in Union Square, I couldn’t resist getting a slice when everyone else was partaking in pre-dinner za. What can I say, I always succumb to food peer pressure. The slices were absolutely nothing special. Warmed up slices of pizza that were clearly made well in advance and sitting around. I took a few bite and didn’t feel much need to finish my slice. Very mediocre pizza.

Loved the pizza! I ordered a pepperoni and cheese slice. The sauce was yummy and tomatoie and the cheese was warm and gooey perfect bite to eat after an evening full of drinks ! Btw I loved the crust ! Attention thin crust lovers ! Taste like pizza on a warm thin cracker. Won’t be disappointed ! Also good locations just a block an a half away from union square.

I’ve been to Bella Lucca a couple of times… The first time was when my friends and I stayed at the JW MArriott nearby and we got some pepperoni and pineapple pizza to-go. We didn’t really enjoy it since it was so oily! We decided to give this place another try after a friend of mine discovered their chicken wings! YUMMMMM!!! It tastessss soooo good after a night of fist pumping in Ruby Skye! I also tried their combination pizza which was just OKAY. I really liked the thin crust and that it wasn’t oily this time around! *Will return for the wingsssss*

I was racing straight towards a Japanese restaurant with my stomach ready for Asian food and I saw a row of people sitting by the window with giant slices of pizza oozing with toppings and cheese. I dragged my boyfriend back into this same place in which I previously gave 2 stars and ordered a giant slice of pesto pizza. My pizza craving was satisfied. The only down side was that I constantly had to ask for things that weren’t readily available for the customer. The side of marinara sauce you can ask for is cold. I had to ask for utensils, napkins, etc. I wish they had that stuff set out for us to serve ourselves with.

Don’t do it! I know your buzzed and maybe a little hungry after drinking, but trust me, keep walking! Our drunk to tipsy group of girls walked in here to get some food after a night out. Pizza was drenched in oil, even the drunk ‘bride to be’ who could only remember parts of the night was able to remember the gross oily pizza. I used 5 – 6 napkins to try and take all the oil of my pizza slice and still couldn’t finish my pizza because it was that bad. Come here at your own risk.
