Cavity — something every parent and kid dreads to hear. We made an appt with Dr. James to fix said hole in tooth. We didn’t have to wait long for our appointment which is a good thing.
Dr. James and asst were very nice and took care of any anxiety the Kid had about the procedure. She was also very gentle and quick.
The Kid had a very positive experience.

I have taken three of my kids to this practice over the last ten years. Dr. James is very good with kids and thorough. Recently, my ten year-​old needed to have a tooth pulled to make space for another one. Dr. Yu was masterful and he hardly even noticed. Highly recommend!

Each of my two daughters was nipped by a different dog (there were two in the office). My girls are good with animals — we have a dog and two cats. At first I thought it was so great that they had the dogs there, as it made my girls so comfortable. I heard complaints from other parents, who thought it was unsanitary, but I liked it. Now, not so much. After the youngest was nipped, we stuck with the practice — it could have been an aberration. But once the other dog nipped my oldest (the dog was lying on her lap relaxing, and didn’t like it when she moved) we moved on.
I think that the dental care was reasonably good, although I am not sure about the fluoride they push. We didn’t purchase it, as san francisco water is fluoridated.

Run, don’t walk away from this practice.

awesome dentist. if you have a kid, take them here. they will not grow up having a fear of dentists, and isn’t that the goal?

Dr. Bergen James is as good as it gets. Her office staff is great and she is a GEM of a person and a fantastic Dentist. Great with kids. My children LOVE LOVE LOVE going to the Dentist. That should say it all. I highly recommend their office. The other two Dentists that work with her are great too.
