This was one of my favorite go-to spots! I’d grab a girlfriend, and order the Olivia Pope(coined by yours truly): a bottle of red wine and truffle popcorn. The selection & quality of food/bev was great and the patio seating in the back was the best. I loved seeing the trees covered in lights –made it even more cozy. So sad they closed shop. The next place that opens here has some big shoes to fill.

One of my favorite wine bars in the Marina. Really sad to hear that they’ll be closing shop! Bin 38 features wines from around the world: California, France, Italy, Australia, Oregon, etc. They also have craft beer, but no draft. They have heated outdoor seating along the front sidewalk and in the back patio(with a fire-pit). I come here at night and prefer grabbing a seat inside by the bar. The lighting, décor and music gives off a relaxing and intimate vibe. Love their classy décor of dark wood and marble. Knowledgeable staff and great food. If you’re overwhelmed by their wine selection, then opt for the flights. It’s a decent value and you’ll get taste 3 different wines. I was surprised at how generous the pours were… or maybe the bartender was being a little too nice.

My cousin convinced me to go to an early dinner tonight with her(since her hubby is out of town & she wanted to hear about my Wyoming trip). She picked me up & headed to BIN38 for 6:00pm reservations. BIN38 is closing next Sunday for good. This was my first time. Apparently, my cousin has gone there many times since she has an apt in the Marina. Upon arriving, we were seated in the back patio, which was nice. They have a fire pit. This is like a upscale wine bar with an extensive dinner menu. We had a glass of Pinot Gregio and we ordered the Panchetta Deviled Eggs. Really good! But not as good as Hog & Rocks Deviled Eggs. Service was prompt & friendly. I ordered the Short Ribs complimented by a sweet potato & Brussel sprouts. My cousin ordered the fresh Salmon dish with Risotto. The waiter comped us a bottle of San Pellegrino since I didn’t like or eat my brussel sprouts. Nice touch! For desert, we split a delicious chocolate torte. So keep in mind, this restaurant closes its doors for good next Sunday April 19. Good luck to them.

BIN38 has been putting on the full court press in their last month of business to make as much $$ as they can before they close their doors. I fell for it, and«made a final toast» as they say with them over dinner. It was a waste of money. Our waitress asked if we wanted a little truffle popcorn. We said yes thinking it was complimentary, like when they ask if you’d like some bread. Nope, $ 7, and who needs this before a meal?! We said yes to be polite. Very smooth on her part. We got the burger and kale Ceasar for dinner. I remember when BIN38 had these delicious fries that came with three different dipping sauces. No more. These fries tasted were over fried and soggy. Kind of like squeezing veggie oil in your mouth. The burger was pretty disappointing as well. Kale Salad was okay, better than the other things we ordered. So … If you too are receiving these emails pulling at your heart strings, making you sad to see an old fav go, don’t fall for it. There is a reason their doors are closing.

Went here for brunch with one of my girlfriends. We both got the burger that was really delicious. We came for unlimited mimosas and it was really nice because they just give us a pitcher for the table and refill the pitcher so we don’t feel bad asking over and over again for refills. The price was pretty cheap. It is a beautiful place too with a nice outdoor area and her and i sat by the window. It was a little loud because of a rowdy group, but the food was great and mimosas were tasty as well. definitely would go back for a boozy brunch.

Came here for a late hh Friday night with a friend… kinda wish we hadn’t already been to a previous hh as we were already a teeny tipsy :) Great wine selection that you can select any 3 to do a tasting. We also had ½ cheese plate which was plenty for two people who are going to order more food. Although it was lent so we were slightly limited to meatless options. We also ordered the scallops which were delicious and cooked perfectly but not a huge portion… I highly recommend ordering 1 — 2 plates to share as everything is seems so delicious. Come here!

Love this place!!! I had my birthday brunch here last Saturday and it was wonderful. Atmosphere– I requested outdoor seating which was covered but still beautiful. They were able to fit all 16 of us in a long table(that’s their max for one table). It was such a nice environment– perfect for brunch Service was great! We got bottomless mimosas and our waiter was super diligent about bringing us more pitchers when we were running low– we were never mimosaless. The event coordinator, Naomi, was super accomdating. They have a set brunch menu but I wanted to trade out the french toast bite starts for french friends(1. because I love french fries and 2. because two of my friends are Vegan) and she did! For $ 35 a person, we got 2 shared starters, 1 main entrée, and bottomless mimosas. For the starters, we had french fries(per my request) and the burrata flatbread with grapes. Both were incredible. For the main entrée, I got the egg wrap which had AMAZING pesto sauce. With all the mimosas, I was full by the flatbread, but everything was so good. Also because it was my birthday, they brought me this really light flan like dessert which was delicious. Needless to say, I will definitely be coming back and would recommend it to anyone!

My group of 5 stopped by for a quick drink before our reservation during restaurant week. at first it looked like there was no one inside and then I realized it’s more of a lounge than just a bar. It looks like a nice place to take people on dates. It is lit up by low lights and candles giving it a romantic feel. We didn’t have a reservation which was fine because we only planned to stay for 20 minutes and the hostess took us to a room outdoors in front of a fireplace. The restaurant has different rooms all cozy and only ours looked like it had a fireplace. I thought it was so cool. Especially in san francisco. We each had a beer in front of the fire on a beautiful night. I want to go back to try their food.

After a long search for a nice wine bar in SF, BIN38 did not disappoint. Although there isn’t a wide selection of food choices to choose from the flatbread is a safe bet. The mushroom risotto wasn’t as creamy as expected and the fries were a bit on the saltier side. Among their large variety of choices of wine(and beer) we ordered a bottle of their Pinot Noir from Yara Valley which was very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend coming here, its a nice intimate spot to just hang out. The only negative was trying to find street parking was horrendous on a Saturday night but it’s a safe enough neighborhood to be walking around.

Once again Bin 38 you have failed and disappointed me exactly a year to date. After an awful NYE experience last year due to server attitude and poor service, the owner personally calls me to apologize and to make it up to me the next time I visit. This used to be my favorite spot for all my events, and it has been ruined now once again due to the attitude of some staff. Is attitude and rudeness a requirement there? I decide to give another chance to salvage my opinion of Bin 38 a year later with a note mentioning that the owner asked to be notified when I come in. When my party of two arrived, the place is practically empty, and the staff tries to seat us in the front of the restaurant next to the door and check-in area. This table shouldn’t even exist at an establishment. After inquiring why we couldn’t sit elsewhere(at any other empty table), we were told the place was entirely booked, absolutely no room whatsoever. Then after some prodding, the staff member reads my reservation notes and pretends that he saw them for the first time. Miraculously he finds a spot in the back patio(also almost completely empty). The vibe was just so off, and the rudeness was too evident. We ended up leaving… never to return again. Interestingly we were offered another table if we didn’t like the other poorly situated table. Weird… I thought you were fully booked. I would love to hear any pathetic defense of the experience that occurred. It would amuse me greatly.

Lovely neighborhood gem located on Scott Street in the Marina. My friend and I decided to grab a drink at BIN38 while we were out and about on Chestnut. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly hostess as we made our way to the bar. It’s a small and cozy spot with good music and a welcoming ambiance. They have a nice variety of wine to chose from. The bartender offered us a few different varieties to taste, all of which were very good. I went with a glass of Sauvignon Blanc. We enjoyed our wine and I would definitely come back to try their food. After ordering, I realized that I could have received a free glass of wine after checking in on Unilocal.Darn! I plan to return regardless, but I may have to take advantage of the Unilocal offer :)

Came here with a good friend on a rainy Sunday to use a LivingSocial coupon for a 3 course Prix Fixe dinner. We were seated next to the window with a nice view of the outdoor area along with a fireplace. Each person can chose one item for each course, so with 2 of us that means we got to try 6 things! Wine pairing for a single person was only $ 23 more, and the waitress was nice and allowed us to do half glasses for both of us for each wine pairing(4 in total for the each of the first 2 courses) First course: Deviled eggs with fish eggs and hummus, wine pairing of a rich and buttery white white — Delicious! Best deviled eggs I’ve had! Arugula with pear and other dried fruit, wine pairing of a crisp and acidic white wine — Pretty good. The wine pairing makes this item Second: Chilean coho salmon, wine pairing of a Chardonnay — Very tender salmon, with delicate flavor but excellent sauce. The grains underneath were really hard though and hard to eat. The wine pairing was quite excellent here. Pork Loin with apple sauce and brown rice, cream sauce, and bacon, wine pairing of a Pinot Noir — Pork was not super juicy, but not dry. With the apple and cream sauce, the pork became quite excellent. Wine pairing was excellent here as well. Dessert: Salted Caramel popcorn with vanilla ice cream — Very fresh and soft ice cream. Had to eat this right away. Quite good though Some sort of chocolate pudding. Very rich but good. Service was excellent! Would come back here again on a special occasion.

Great place for brunch. $ 14 bottomless mimosas, and a delicious burger = happy Michelle. There are a bunch of tables in the back, plus a cute, lounge-y room that fit the 6 of us well. Will be back to try their dinner or HH menu!

A friend of mine was visiting SF and he wanted to check out a place that had an impressive by the glass wine list. After some searching I found BIN38 and made a reservation. Fast forward to the end of the evening and we had a great time. The Great: + I really liked the space and the outdoor area. + Service. Friendly, helpful(with both food and wine), and always keeping tabs. + Scallops($ 26). My dish came with 4 monster scallops that were cooked perfectly. Quite wonderful. + A great selection of wines by the glass. A mix of new world and old world. + Quality bread. The Average: o Charcuterie and cheese plates were not very special and definitely a bit overpriced for what we got. However, the meats and cheeses were fresh and of good quality. The Poor: — The seats along the wall were very thin and I could feel the wood frame digging in to my arse. Not cool. — Lack of veg with my dish and no option to get any veg on the side. Protein heavy, but where’s my fiber, yo?! Overall a 4 star experience and I’ll definitely be back… If I can find parking.

Check-in offer is a free glass of bubbly, no purchase required! Of course you have to order the truffle popcorn. It’s the perfect pairing. Really nice service and great people watching. Or sit out on the gorgeous patio, complete with fireplace. Though I don’t spend my time in the Marina, this wine bar is tres adorable!

Such a wonderful late-night spot to have some wine and hang out. Definitely a romantic, intimate little spot. I love their back patio with comfy couches, a fire pit along with some tables.(And yes, there’s a TV for all you sports buffs.) But the TV isn’t loud, and it doesn’t have a sports-bar feel. The wine selection is superb, and if you check in on Unilocal, you get a free glass of bubbly. A few glasses later, and you’ll be feeling bubbly yourself. I love this spot! It’s in a great neighborhood — walking distance to a few other shops and restaurants. But this place is open late, like really late, so come on in if you want a romantic nightcap.

I have a Living Social coupon for a prix fixe meal for 2. The menu was limited: 2 choices for apps(a salad and a soup) 3 or 4 choices for entrees(hamburger, pork chop fish of the day, and ?? I do not remember) dessert was 3 choices(pot de crème — which they were substituting for a brownie sundae, a panna cotta and home-made ice cream) Our server — NIcole — was a sweetie. The deal we got for the coupon was neutralized by the wine prices which are steep.(but what they don’t say is that they are happy to serve you ½ glasses — so you don’t have to spend a bundle. I had the cold tomato soup, good, but nothing special. The fish of the day was swordfish — which was a large portion and prepared with care, accompanied by a flavorful rosemary risotto and small salad. I had wanted the pot de crème, but the substitute was a peanut butter and chocolate brownie with ice cream. It was good, but I make a better brownie — so kinda a wash. I will say that the swordfish was one of the best I ever remember ordering, so kudos.

We came here for an early Saturday dinner, but the place was already packed! They sat our group of six in the back patio area, which was absolutely quaint with lounge chairs and a fire pit. I ordered the squid ink pappardelle with shrimp and stewed tomatoes. It was the perfect amount of food and everything was deliciously cooked! The squid ink pappardelle was cooked well and had wonderful texture. I could not stop dipping everything on my plate in the buttery sauce! My husband enjoyed his bacon wrapped pork loin with brussel sprouts and couldn’t stop raving about it. It’s a great place to come with a big group in a casual atmosphere. Entrée items range from $ 15 to $ 32.

very cute wine bar. Ambiance is good for either GNOs, group outtings, or even date nights. I like that they have seating infront of the restaurant too… esp if you like to people watch. Go hang out in the back patio though. It’s not bad during cold months either since it’s enclosed in plastic and has heat lamps. Heat lamps might be a bit too much and hey– no smoking back there! Waitstaff is pretty attentive to your needs and check up on you very often. Wine selection is good. I wanted a nice malbec and the waiter suggested one for us and we all liked it. We ordered the charcuterie and cheese platter and didn’t have any negative things to say about it. A friend didn’t have dinner yet so he ordered the roasted duck which my gf and I tried and thought it was great flavorful. Our friend devoured it not leaving anything left on the plate. Needless to say, I’d definitely be back.

I am not talking about the food, which they offer, but the ambiance and wine that this place provides. They offer an intimate outdoor lounge located in the way back and a modern, chic dining area inside. This place reminded me of a contemporary home, but with a couple of spacious sections, solely for the purpose of having an exclusive chit chat while dining with wine or simple food entrees. It was a good choice, on the guy’s part, to ease the anxiety by coming here for wine — especially when it is the first date night. I must say, I am not a big fan of wine. However, I have heard plenty of times that it is an acquired taste overtime. I think that this may be the start of when I began to favor a wine venue to drink for social gatherings and romantic outings. We got the flight of wine and I was not a wine connoisseur at that time. So I thought it was good wine. Nothing much and nothing less. Let’s just say that I didn’t see the delightful value in wine compared to how I see wine now. A modest place. I’ve BIN here. I will be coming here again.
