What I ate: Mocha cupcake Visit date: November 19, 2014 First time? Yes. There were many choices, but I ended up choosing a mocha cupcake(regular size). The cupcakes are $ 3 a piece. They don’t look super fancy, but they do the trick when you want a kick of sweet. The mocha cupcake reminded me of mocha rolls, which then reminded my of my childhood. The frosting even had the consistency of the mocha roll filling. The cake was moist and had a slight bitter note which paired well with the sweet, rich frosting. The mocha flavor was apparent throughout. Note: If mocha rolls didn’t make me nostalgic then I could see how the frosting might be too sweet. I’m now curious about their other cupcakes. I would definitely return sometime to try out other flavors, like their peanut butter chocolate chip and the cookies & cream. Cash only for purchases less than $ 10. Mini cupcakes are also available. They have other baked goods and savory items, too.

I ordered a 6″ chocolate mouse cake and it was delicious! The clerk even told us to leave it out before serving in the evening because it will soften the mousse filling inside. I guess it will be rock hard if you left it in the fridge? The cake was nice and moist and I liked how the decorated it. For the bargain basement price of $ 16, it is worth it. I bought 2 gingerbread men for $ 4. The cookies were good but it might not be your cup of tea if you don’t like ginger. Service was friendly and the cake was good. Definitely worth a try.

Where to start? Oh that’s right, LEMON.POPPYSEED.CAKE — you really do need this in your face! Blissful Bites has pulled through countless times for this last minute planner. Not only do they accommodate me on design and put up with my bizarre requests, their cakes taste even better. By far my favorite is of course the lemon poppyseed and red velvet. It’s rich and moist with the right balance of sweetness. This place makes me happy.
