Meh. I mean you know what you’re getting when you come here. The location is good, and there aren’t many options when you’re craving fries and a burger, so you deal with everything else. You deal with Burgermeister being on the expensive side for what they offer. You deal with the«restaurant»? not feeling clean at all, from the moment you step in it. The tables don’t seem clean, the floor doesn’t seem like it’s ever been cleaned, the aprons the people cooking your food are wearing don’t seem clean. You deal in the moment, hoping that the craving doesn’t return and you won’t have to go back. Why is their service bad? It’s the kind of place where you can call your order in ahead, arrive, talk to the cashier, and know that your order is only JUSTTHEN being put in. It’s the kind of place where requests for more ketchup or sauce are just forgotten so you have to wait and then repeat yourself. It’s the kind of place where seeing the cashier crawl around the floor on his hands and knees looking for God only knows what, isn’t that surprising. But you’re still grossed out when he uses those same hands to hand you your box of food. I guess the food gets 3 stars, but their service & cleanliness are atrocious so that knocks them down.

I live in the neighborhood and have been going to this location since they opened. The past year or so things have declined dramatically. Cleanliness, staff and food. I recently watched a «manager» seem perplexed by how to make a milkshake. Too bad the owners don’t realize they 0could quadruple their profits if they could win over the literal thousands of commuters walking past their entrance.

I’ve been to this location four times now, and each time the food was outstanding and the service was great.

Let me start by saying that I’ve never had an issue with this place until today and I rarely write reviews unless I think it’s necessary… With that said, I tried calling in a take out order tonight. The lady who took my call was incredibly rude. She couldn’t hear me(even tho I was literally trying to yell into my iPhone) and told me to «speak loudly and clearly into the phone»…um excuse me? I continued to try to order and as she asked for my name and phone I had to repeat myself 3 times until she said«I cannot hear you» in an incredibly rude way. I hung up and called the other burgermeister on Carl street(who didn’t have a problem understanding me). If you can’t give good customer service, you probably shouldn’t be in the food industry.

It was pretty decent. A bit pricey. Asked how I wanted my burger cooked and I said well came out with center pink. Not a fan of pink in my hamburgers. Still it had good flavor.

This place is consistently delicious I come here fairly often about once a month. I usually get the wings(extra crispy) in bbq or buffalo and they’re always done right. The burgers are good as well. It’s your standard burger joint but they have way more to offer. An added bonus is that they have beer and wine. Come here on a Thursday and it’s all day happy hour… Thirsty Thursdays and all their drinks are $ 3. All of the staff members are very attentive and pleasant to deal with. I recommend this place for a quick lunch.

Ugh. In a sentence, I’ll tell you this place has gone downhill because they changed their meat. Definitely a much lower quality of hamburger. What a bummer. This place used to be a decent place to grab a burger and fries. Nothing fancy, but decent. They used to have two burger sizes on the menu. Now it’s one: the smaller size, and the meat is clearly cheaper than what they used to offer. The fries are still good. But it’s off the list now for a quick bite. Maybe I’ll try Super Duper again.

Still one of the best burgers in town. 23 $ and some change is a bit rich for my taste for a burger onion rings and a shake. But I killed it and it was delish. I’ll be back for my next heart attack. :)

Burgermeister on Church has really gone downhill. Too bad. I used to work fairly close to this Burgermeister and it was always great. But, after visiting recently, it is no longer the same and I will not be back. Beyond the fact that the menu had changed since we’d last visited, there were issues with the food, service and restaurant itself. After placing our order for four dinners, the food took a bit longer than expected, especially since the place was not very busy. The counter tops were greasy with old cups and napkins that we had to discard ourselves. The worst area was the ketchup/mustard/relish station which was sticky and had what looked like fruit flies hovering where you pump your condiments. Three of the dinners were standard hamburgers, which were fair, but a bit on the greasy side; this should not have been the case since the average price was about $ 12 each. The fourth dinner was a turkey burger that was supposed to come with a fried egg. What arrived was a dried-out piece of beige-colored leather with grill marks on it and no egg. We asked the employee about it and he said he would bring the egg and apologized, which was fine. But then, a different employee came up and said that he forgot to charge us for the egg and asked that my wife come up to the counter and pay for it(!). The employee admitted that it was his mistake but still insisted we leave our table and pay for it anyway, even though we had already waited about 20 minutes. It would be another 10 minutes before the substandard turkey burger could be consumed as originally ordered and it was a disappointment. At this point, we wished we had gone to Super-Duper or one of the many good mom-and-pop places in the area. Sorry to see Burgermeister on Church St. go down hill and be so nickel-and-dimey about their services. Any business that is this penny-pinching over their own mistake is not a place that I want to be patronizing.

Excellent burger. Les curly fries à l’ail sont à tomber. Un peu(beaucoup) gras et donc à consommer avec modération(mais à consommer quand même)

Just okay. I wouldn’t go out of my way to eat here again. Got a cheeseburger and fries for lunch. Asked for it cooked medium and it actually was. Fries were crisp. Patty was a bit thin for my liking. Service was kind. $ 10 budget and fries. It’s a step up from fast food. Not sure where they source their beef from. I still prefer Super Duper for flavor and quality.

I do a lot of business at the Safeway across the street and my team and I needed a quick place for lunch! The turkey burger I got was great and the owner was very friendly! I would recommend Burgermeister to anyone looking for a fast lunch option!

Went with the steakhouse salad because I wanted something light and refreshing. Turned out to be a warm and greasy salad, not what i expected. Never had a greasy salad before, they basically threw a small, oily portion of a cheesesteak on top of some greens. Wouldnt recommend. Bro got fish n chips, was very mediocre but overpriced. Service was also subpar, a pissed off server who messed up our order and clearly hated his job. All in all, wouldn’t come here when so many better options exist

My boyfriend and I both got the(vegan) veggiemeister patties with grilled pineapple, sautéed onions and mushrooms which was excellent. We also got garlic fries and curly fries. Everything was tasty and the portions were really great but I’m docking 2 stars because they overcharged me by $ 5 and one of the waiters(I think) wasn’t very friendly. The food is good but make sure to double check your bill before you pay.

Thought we would give this place a try since it’s right around the corner from my bro’s place. I got the San Francisco Burger– mushrooms, grilled onions, and blue cheese(all my favorite toppings!) but I was sadly disappointed. The burger itself was pretty average, and the toppings were fine. But what killed it was the soggy bread it came on. I could barely hold the thing together because the bread was so wet and flopping all over the place. I ended up taking one slice off and eating it like an open face sandwich. I hate to be such a downer… I mean, the fries were pretty decent! If you go with the San Francisco, I would recommend replacing with a bun instead of the sliced bread, or just getting it protein style with no bread. Next time I’m at my bro’s place and in the need for a quick meal, I’ll stick with the burrito shop next door!

Delicious burgers cooked perfectly! Don’t be fooled if it’s not as busy as the taco shop nextdoor; this place has awesome cheeseburgers… one of the best I’ve ever had. I’ll be sure to return to try their shakes. :)

3.5 stars realistically, so the Unilocal average is pretty spot on! The summary: VERY expensive(but pretty average) burgers and really nice staff. We ordered two burgers and split them. One was the Farm Burger and the other one was the Meisterburger. They were both okay, but for the ingredients that they had on them, I expected them to pack more of a flavor punch. I wasn’t a fan of the bun either — it was mushy and didn’t hold up well. If you like five guys’ style of burgers, you’ll likely be a fan of this place, but sadly I’m just not really into this bun type. My wallet also just wasn’t very into the prices here.

I don’t like this place anymore. The last two times I went here, I got poor customer service. «Just to let you know,» the cashier said, «we’re closing in half an hour! Just to let you know I’ll be putting everything away!» Not, «How are you?» or «What would you like?» or «Thanks for spending your money here so I can have a job.» That’s happened twice, but it won’t happen a 3rd time. I don’t care if you’re closing in half an hour, because I’m taking mine to go. You’d know that if you asked. I got food here for years, and the previous staff never seemed to feel the need to start announcing when they were closing in a way designed to drive you off.

First time going in here & it was an okay experience for me. The place was small/cramped but it’s sorta expected in a city like SF. Lighting was dim but overall vibe was good. Workers there were all nice & friend so I decided to build my own burger. I got the Tilapia fillet with coleslaw, garlic curly fries, & a peppermint milkshake. The milkshake was delish! It reminded me of the Red Robin shake I recently had & that’s a good thing. The garlic curly fries was fried to perfection, crunchy with every bite, they don’t become soggy if you dump ketchup over them, AND they used REALGARLIC to put on top of the fries!!! They definitely got Red Robin beat on this one… thank goodness cuz I would’ve freaked out if my garlic fries order got fucked up again. My tilapia burger portion was huge with lots of coleslaw in the middle. Had to tap out and left 1⁄5th of the burger behind cuz I was full from the giant mint-shake & the big side portion of garlic fries. Anyways this place may be small but they give out huge portions here so it’s well worth the money :]

After a long afternoon taking the bus to Golden Gate Bridge and then struggling to get back(determining right bus and then dealing with nightmarish Friday night traffic… guess that’s universal…*LOL*) and then having my phone die mid-walk across the bridge, I wound up getting back to my B&B home a little later. I was too tired to venture anywhere beyond the general area and spied Burgermeister while walking back on Church that evening. So after plugging my phone to charge and subsequently conversing with the bff briefly on my day, I walked over to the BM. The cashier/server was busy chatting away with the cooks and another server. One of the cooks alerted her to my presence and she quickly turned around and took my order. She was really pleasant and it didn’t seem like the«fake» kind that some customer service folks give you. She made assumption at first that I wanted a custom burger but quickly self corrected when I mentioned wanting the mushroom and swiss. I ordered the burger to go and she mentioned it would be ten minutes. The time seemed shorter and she was really sweet through the whole process. Customer service definitely gets 5 stars. The burger itself was good. It wasn’t among the best but it did fill me up and the fries were aplenty, which is always a plus.

3.5 stars This is a solid burger place. The selection is pretty big, with a lot of different kinds of combos to choose from, and they also have milkshakes with malt. The servers are very friendly as well, despite us coming in pretty late in the day. The burger quality is not quite up there with some of the more well-known chains around SF. It’s also next to some bars so if you happen to be out drinking with some friends, this is a perfectly fine place to stop by for a bite too.
