Had a great brunch here today recommend these this place! High-quality place and they’re open till 3:30 for brunch! The prices aren’t cheap normal San Francisco prices but the portions were huge! Very generous great staff cloth napkins first class

Loved this place. Had the turkey burger and it was spot on. Service was great.

This stalwart of Union St. has a well rounded, made from scratch menu that has something for everyone, and the owner greets you like family. Great breakfast, lunch. Surprisingly wide variety of choices, like epic breakfast burrito, blueberry pancakes, or a Mediterranean play on wild salmon, and awesome Turkey Chili and French fries! A classic place, go there!

Amongst a sea of countless cafes, restaurants, and pubs in SF, you have here Caffé Union. A really, really, really terrific spot for breakfast/lunch. The food is hot, fresh, made to order, and delicious. I had the salmon BLT sans salmon(had grilled chicken instead) w/French fries. The rest of my party had a standard 2 eggs breakfast plate, a breakfast burrito, and a pancakes plate. We all enjoyed our food — no complaints. The focaccia bread on my BLT was so soft and pillowy. I wonder if they sell the bread by itself! We also had a round of mimosas and unlike other places, it wasn’t 95% OJ. Our server, Lori, was the best. She always checked on us and we never had to ask for anything. Even when the place seemed packed inside and outside, the servers(only two) never seemed stressed and the customers all seemed content. Definitely bookmark Caffé Union, you won’t regret it.

There’s a certain give and take with this spot. I was looking for a quick lunch place near work to eat today, and decided on this as my destination, due to the fact that I’ve never been here. The inside is very casual, and it’s fair to say they really don’t have much of an «ambiance». It seems like a place to sit down, eat lunch and go back to work. Not a big deal to me. I was craving a sandwich and went with the Roasted Turkey. Here’s where the give and take part comes in. The sandwich itself was a great size, and they give you enough fries to feed 3 – 4 people. That’s the give part. They give a lot of food. The take part is that the fries themseleves are very hard to eat. Overly crunchy for how thin they are. The second part of the take is the price. $ 16 for a sandwich and fries is not cheap. Price would not have bothered me too much if not for it’s execution. The sandwich itself was by no means bad. Let me clear that up instantly. It was satisfying. Yet, it also was very messy, and I don’t mean messy just because of the sauce. Messy because the execution was not there. I do think it was still worth a try, and I like the idea of a tukey sandwich with siracha that looks like a burger. Though it was a very mixed experience, I would definitely come back to try thier breakfast, which I hear is good. All in all, it’s a solid stop if you want a quick lunch, but don’t expect amazing despite the pricepoint. My big takeaway: they have all the potential to be great and are not far away from reaching that, just need to work out a few kinks.

Terrible service. They never brought 2 things we ordered and then charged us on the check. It took them so long to change this once we pointed it out, and no apologies. Food was overpriced and not great as well. Would not recommend.

Ordered a Salad… Yes it was good but nothing special… Sorry if you are going to charge more than 10 $ for a salad there needs to be something special, something note worthy but alas another over priced salad. Cute interior though!

Food is unassuming, but amazing. Service was perfect. This humble little gem is a refreshing reprieve from the glitz and glamour of Marina.

Found this place about a month ago and have been back at least five times since. Everything I have ordered has been excellent! Wish they were open past 3pm so I could come more often!

The build your own scramble/omelet here is the best in the city. The ingredients are all fresh, the portion is generous and it’s cooked perfectly. They serve breakfast all day, but the lunch food is great as well. The breakfast burrito is fantastic as well.

I do like this place for its simple and tasty food. Service is always efficient. But man they have a ventilation problem. Each time I go in there it is so Smokey it starts hurting my eyes and my clothes get that smoke smell when I walk out. It definitely takes away from the pleasure of their good food. Suggestion to get food to go or sit out front on a warm day.

Four stars minus one for bad service. I had a college girl as a server and she was so focused on a guy eating at the counter that she mostly ignored other diners. When she brought my change, she put it on the table and immediately turned around without saying anything so she could return to the object of her attention. I think you could have spared four seconds to say«Thanks, come back soon» or something.

No atmosphere here, just a small local spot that happened to be open for breakfast when we got hungry… Arrived for breakfast – ordered poached eggs, bacon, potato pancake and toast. The eggs were perfect but sadly the potato pancake was served partially charred not golden brown. It was fairly tasteless which made me wonder if it had been fried up in advance. Fortunately the smiling waitress could not have been nicer. She brought coffee refills without being asked. However, This café could easily make itself more inviting if the grout between the tabletop tiles was properly cleaned.

Came here with my Dad because it’s very close to my brother’s apartment, but the location of convenience did not disappoint. I’m biased in the way that I love any place that serves breakfast food all day, especially on a weekday when I thought it would be tough to find breakfast being served beyond 9 or 10 a.m. I went with the sunrise special – two eggs, bacon, breakfast potatoes, and two pancakes with a coffee and a bloody mary – because how can you go wrong with so many delicious offerings? The food was delicious and came out quite quickly. They’ve got a couple tables outside if you come at a time where it’s not busy. Service was polite and attentive though not overly involved, which I was pleased with. The food is fairly well priced for a city like San Francisco, though certainly not a cheap bite. But overall, I loved this place and would highly recommend it. The cherry on top was that the restaurant had both Cholula and Tabasco hot sauce on the table. The bloody mary was on point as well in terms of spice and flavor, and reasonably priced when you get it with the special.

While staying in San Fran, our host recommended we tried this place out & it did not disappoint! I ordered the Bloody Mary, which was alright. We then ordered the Egg Juneau & the Caffe Union Poach! Both incredibly delicious but the Egg Juneau was the best! Who can say no to smoked salmon?! Anyways, the server was nice & the small restaurant made our trip that much better!

Cozy, diner spot. The sides are exorbitantly priced($ 4+ for a side of avocado and same for a few strips of bacon on your burger), but the food was fresh and had a home-made flair.

I’ve passed by many times, but today finally came in for breakfast. It was a happy accident because my first choice Rose’s Café was packed. Lovely rustic interior with very friendly service to boot. I ordered the standard fare of two eggs with house potatoes and wheat toast and added a side of hot links with coffee to drink. Food was simple and filling — the hot links were really salty so the potatoes and toast really helped to curb that… I’ll probably go for the turkey sausage next time. Coffee wasn’t that strong, but still good. I found the place very charming and I’d definitely go again and try the pancakes or waffles next time.

I love my coffee and the coffee is very weak. It’s like they used only one spoon full per pot. Makes me sad inside. Burrito was big, good, and just the right amount of heat. Only criticism I have is they placed the salsa in the middle of the plate which made the bottom of the burrito soggy. Next time salsa on the side or drain the salsa a little. My husband had the breakfast special. He liked the pancakes and home fries. The consistency of the eggs was a little weird. Not sure if they added something to it or what but a little weird. Overall not bad. I’d come back here for the burrito.

Meh. I ordered green tea for $ 3 and all I get is crappy Lipton green tea? Sad face. I ordered salmon poached in white wine over broccoli and 3 whole grains. I think the dish had a lot of potential but it just came off kind of blah. It was bland and flat tasting. The couscous was way over cooked and made the whole bottom part seem kind of mushy. The fish itself was nice quality and not dry(though if you dry out poached fish, someone help you learn to cook). Maybe I should have stuck to the«br» part of «brunch». Because my man’s breakfast was pretty decent. Nothing to write home about, but not so… blah. That being said, the staff was really nice and friendly. They were very sweet. This is obviously a neighborhood spot for«normal» breakfast which I get. They have a deal with a memosa or bloodmary, but it is still a good place for brunch on Union for families. Nobody acting crazy from too many bottomless morning drinks. I know it is a few dollars more expensive because rent is high in this area, so I don’t mind that. Overall, I just have had way better of this exact same concept in other places.

We still were able to get the Early Bird special at 11am on a Saturday, it was just $ 18 instead of $ 15. It came with a choice of two eggs, choice of bacon or turkey sausage, potatoes, & wheat or buttermilk pancakes. And the most important part, a mimosa or Bloody Mary. My bacon was so crispy and delish, buttermilk pancakes were very buttery and moist. Potatoes were a little on the burnt and under seasoned side. Mimosa was fine, and her Bloody Mary was very spicy. Needless to say we both didn’t finish everything, so fiancé got my leftovers later. Caffe Union is a solid breakfast spot in the Marina but not a destination brunch place, as there’s probably better options in the Marina. The menu has a handful of options for lunch and breakfast, but the majority of the breakfast dishes you have to pay extra to add meat, and the starting prices of the dishes aren’t that cheap(around the $ 11 – 14 mark). The portions are big, service is fine and there was no wait for a table. I’d say your best bet is coming for the Early Bird or Sunrise special or for a lunch dish.
