Fun hangout idea after dinner — dessert, board games, and cocktails! We played connect 4, battleship, cards, and loaded questions. The employees are really nice and experienced in crowd control. There is a 2-hr limit for each group, but if they are not busy, they tend to be more lax on that time limit. Even if they are busy, the employees are nice about it. For dessert, we ordered Lemon & White Chocolate, Tiramisu, and Honey — Almond Panna Cotta. They were allll so yummy! The tiramisu is great for sharing — rich and creamy. The other two are good individual desserts, only bc the container they come in are relatively small. The almond panna cotta was surprisingly light and refreshing bc of the fruit. For cocktails, we ordered the Mango Tango Bellini and Strawberry Kiss. Both were delish, but if you only want to order one, get the mango tango bellini. Larger groups may be discouraged by the wait if you come on a weekend night, but it’ll be worth it. I don’t know of any other dessert bar(w boardgames) in SF. Edit: We came here back in July — sad to hear that this place closed :(

Nice little relaxed place in SF on one of the residential streets. We shared tiramisu as we had dinner at another place before and just wanted dessert. I think it was a good balance and wasn’t too chocolately. I enjoyed it as We devoured it pretty quickly. –Edmund We ordered a Big Francesco’s Tiramisu to share. It tasted more chocolately then a typical tiramisu, but I loved it none the less. The environment is really cute. They have board games on the side. I think it would be a great hangout spot! Apparently you can bring your own dinner here, and chill out with their cocktails and desserts on the side. It’s pretty awesome. –Kristen 5 stars from Edmund. 5 stars from Kristen.

Cute little hang out which serves both alcohol and desserts. Fun! My sundae had everything I wanted… ice cream, brownie and fruit. Yum!

Not what I was expecting at all when my friend suggested«a super chill dessert lounge with board games». Such an awesome find! I loved it! Dim lighting, fun vibes, chill seating & perfect desserts… the best way to end an evening with friends. Get the sampler and pick 4 desserts to try!

Really cute quaint spot. Great murals and wall art. It’s got lots of little corners so it’s nice for small groups. They have 4 gluten free desserts which is fabulous and their cocktails are Asian spirit based. I recommend the blood orange Bellini. The flourless cake is delicious. Definitely would come back.

What a great place to enjoy some yummy dessert and drinks, all while catching up with good company and even having the option of playing some good ol’ board games/cards. I feel like there’s at least something on the menu for everyone’s taste — dessert and drinks both! The ambiance is intimate, but very welcoming. Give this fun and sweet place(heh) a try!

What a great find! I’ve been meaning to come here for some time now since I have heard nothing but great things about this little place. I came here for a few drinks with a friend last week and am SO glad I did. It is a little hole in the wall dessert lounge/wine bar with a great vibes, dim lighting, delicious food and drinks and board games! What more could you ask for? THEHAPPYHOURISUNREAL(drinks only). I got a glass of sangria for $ 3! AND it goes until 7pm. My friend and I also decided we needed to order some type of dessert since it IS a dessert lounge. We decided on the Apple Ala Mode. We figured we couldn’t go wrong with that. We were right. It was sooooo yummy! Especially with the sangria pairing. Highly recommend! The service was a bit slow but there was only one server for all the tables and he was super friendly and attentive. Won’t stop me from coming back very soon!

Cute little place to go and hang out w/some friends! Came here on a Saturday night and my friend & I were lucky enough to swoop the last table! Very dark, intimate setting. Each table has its own little candle and it’s very cute, but gets kind of hot — my friend kept blowing it out and they kept replacing it for us lol We ordered a drunken s’mores & ice cream sandwich to split along with some drinks! Drunken s’mores was definitely the winner of the night, ice cream sandwich was interested — we had almond macarons and in between was honey dew flavored ice cream. The ice cream was good but the whole thing was too hard/messy to eat. I’m not too sure what my friend got to drink, but i ordered a lychee guava martini and omg it was so tasty! Definitely able to taste the alcohol towards the end of your drink but both of us got a pretty good buzz from just one! Will be back to try more of the drink options!

Great place to hang out with friends or for a date! I love the board games and the ambiance. Drunken s’mores: a little too much chocolate for my taste, but good for someone with a sweet tooth. Ice cream sandwiches: more about the plating than the actual ice cream sandwich. Cute for pictures though. Strawberry limeade: my all-time favorite. Comes in a cute jar, and made with the perfect ratio of strawberry to cake to cream. Strawberry kiss: favorite drink here! Strawberry with bubbly. Tip: check out groupon for a Candybar deal

Candybar is a good date night place with very sweet desserts and drinks. Like most places, it gets crowded and there’s a line. We got lucky and ended up only waiting for about 15 minutes to get seated. Since we already had a big dinner, we decided to get one dessert to share: Lavender honey crème fraîche semifreddo with nutella powder, almond brittle, and cantaloupe. It seemed like the lightest dessert on the menu since my Asian palette isn’t a big fan of super saccharine desserts. All of the cocktails are very girly in nature and sweet enough to be paired with the desserts. There were some games available but they were all pretty lame and beaten up.

I absolutely love this place. I’ve been here twice and the desserts never disappoint! My goal is to try everything on their menu. Parking is a PAAAIN, so be prepared if going around dinner or late night. It is a small place so try to be smart about when you go. I love the vibe and the setting though. They also have fun little boardgames. Upon my second time visiting, I ordered their Big Francesco’s Tiramisu, Lavender Honey Crème Fraiche Semi Freddo and the drunken smores. Overall, the tiramisu was my favorite hands down. However, I’m not at all writing off the other two. The hot Bailey’s chocolate sauce on the drunken smores was sooooo divine. And I couldn’t stop eating the almond brittle in the fraiche. I’ll be back again and again and again! P. S. They do have happy hour but only for their drinks.

Cute little bar in Hayes Valley! With a focus on dessert?! Best combination EVER. And they even have a happy hour(just for drinks though). Taste these COCKTAILS: + STRAWBERRYKISS: sparkling wine, ginger ale, and frozen strawberry make for a sweet and bubbly drink. The ginger ale makes this drink very refreshing. + MANGOTANGOBELLINI: sparkling wine, mango syrup, and mango-tangerine sorbet also make for a sweet drink. The mango syrup is rather strong, so just be aware if you don’t like super sweet drinks. Nom these DESSERTS: + TIRAMISU: coffee chiffon, chocolate and rum mascarpone cream, coffee bits, and chocolate made my caffeine and chocolate lover heart beat extra fast in my chest(and it’s not the sugar overload!). My favorite part is the coffee bits sprinkled on top of the cake and around the plate. they give an extra punch of flavor and crunch to this dessert. +APPLE A LAMODE: hazelnut crust, cream cheese filling, caramel, and gingerbread ice cream make for a sophisticated twist on this classic American dessert. The apples and caramel blend well together, and gingerbread ice cream adds just a hint of spice for flavor. Things to note: — Drinks range from $ 5 – 8; ask host for happy hour drink specials — Desserts range from $ 9 – 10, but they’re actually big enough to share with two people I love the casual and homey atmosphere here – there are plush couches to sit on and various games on the shelves for you to play with. I came on a Thursday night and it wasn’t crowded. Caught up with a girlfriend over drinks and desserts before moving onto Little Star for dinner(hey we like to do dessert first, okay!). Overall, I’d definitely come back if I’m in the area.

Came here on a Saturday night around 9pm. It was busy and we waited about 10 – 15 minutes. I had a groupon deal that was expiring in like 3 days. Heh. The groupon deal consists of 2 free drinks and 2 free desserts — $ 19 purchase. Basically, I saved half. Each drink or dessert is roughly $ 10… yikes! Would have come out to be $ 40+… :l I got the strawberry kiss and my boyfriend got the just peachy cocktail. Overall, the drinks were nice to sip on. For desserts, we ordered the tiramisu and the strawberry limeade. The presentation of the desserts were beautiful. The tiramisu was very rich. The cake was a little dry… we’ve had better tiramisu before. The strawberry limeade was okay. You can really taste the lime in it. I thought it was a little too strong. The chopped strawberry bits on top gives a nice touch. Both desserts were not overly sweet which was good. The appearance looked better than the actual taste. The atmosphere was nice. They have boardgames and cards that you can play as you eat and sip. The lights are dimmed and gives a relaxing atmosphere. This is a good place to go after dinner to just have a good time and relax. I would come here again to give their other desserts a try… but only if there’s another groupon deal… heh.

Tiramisu… yummy Happy hour until 7, oh la la Groupon happily accepted??? Yipee-doo!!! Everything is delicious, service is friendly, and my cheap a$$ will come back even without a Groupon. Now that’s saying something. Come here for a chill fun time with friends or for date night. You really can’t go wrong.

Strawberry lime-n-ade … That’s usually how I pronounce it. My friends always joke about my pronunciation and I try to get by my mumbling really quick when I’m trying to order. Strawberry limeade, hands down still my favorite at candy bar and that is what I’m always craving for. I haven’t been here for half a year or more, but the manager I believe, still recognizes me. I usually went to candy bar back to back every weekend for a couple months. Strawberry limeade still tastes yummy, however the cake was not moist and soft as usual. So that was a bummer.

Cute place to load up on sugar in the form of desserts or cocktails and play some board games with the girlz or on a date. At 7pm on a Friday night it was basically empty, but was completely packed when I left at 11. Dranks: Lychee & Guava Cocktail — delicious! you can barely taste the soju. highly recommend Mango Bellini — decent but I preferred the other Dessert: Red Velvet Cake — definitely big enough to share with 2 people. So rich and delicious. The coconut shavings on top added a nice texture Ice cream sundae — mint chocolate ice cream sandwiched between a macaron shell and a brownie. The macaron shell was kinda hard, which was disappointing. Ice cream and cookie and brownie… all things I love separately but together they were a tad bit much Staff was very attentive. Will definitely be back!

Following a dinner on Divisadero, we walked up to Candybar which had made its way on to my list as a possible dessert option in the area. The interior is comfortable with dim lighting and lots of art, as well as a stack of board games to make things interesting. While this place is definitely intended to be more of a wine bar, I was impressed by the variety and number of desserts that they offered. With a few exceptions you could even put together a dessert sampler to try four different items. Unfortunately the one we wanted to try was one of the exceptions so we passed on the sampler. Flourless chocolate torte with fruit — 2⁄5 — This wasn’t as impressive as it sounded when we ordered it and the flavors didn’t go together all that well. Passion fruit chocolate mousse with cookie crumble and coffee ice cream — 5⁄5 — I loved every part of this dish. The presentation, the flavors, the quantity and the way it all came together made this a memorable dessert. I would definitely order this again. Overall, I really like Candybar. It is a fun, unique experience which is a perfect way to follow a meal in the area. For a dessert and wine bar I think this is «as good as it gets.»

This place is pretty damn awesome. You’re in Divis, so it’s going to be a little pricier for dessert than what you’re used to, but the concept of a dessert bar with lots of choices of sweets, cocktails, beers, and board games is entirely enticing. Trust me, get the dessert sampler for 2(it’s $ 25 for 4 choices of desserts). Desserts — We had the lemon and white cake, red velvet cake, tiramisu, and apple pie a la mode. The lemon and white comes in a little ramekin, and it’s sprinkled with granola. Really light and airy. Love the not-overly-heavy lemon flavor. The tiramisu was also excellent, and the apple pie was not too heavy on crust or filling. In fact, the apple filling was actually set up like an open-faced sandwich… with vanilla ice cream on top of it. Mmm. The red velvet cake wasn’t dry, but the coconut was overpowering. Drinks — Mango bellini was awesome. The sherbet in it reminds me of putting sherbet/sorbet in champagne. Lychee guava martini was refreshing and had an actual de-seeded lychee fruit in it. Both were a little pricier than they should have been, but you know where you’re at. Games — Battleship, Uno, Candyland(of course), and several more. They’re kind of sticky from being previously played, and I wish there were a greater selection, but it’s not a bad way to spend a date night. Ambiance — Dim lights, booths, couches, candles, and not too much sitting room, but people come and go quickly. They have background music and a small flat screen at the bar(generally with sports on). Come during their happy hour for special deals. I want to say it’s 4pm-8pm?

My girls and I came here twice and both times it was a fun girls night out experience at candybar. Parking can be a struggle but luckily we were able to find parking right in front this time #parkinggodsarewithus we got the groupon deal for one drink and dessert per person and that is a deal! We got the ice cream sundae, tiramisu, chocolate mousse with passion fruit and apple a la mode. The desserts never disappoint and the mango tango bellini was super yummy. This is definitely a fun place to go in general and they also have board games for you to enjoy.
