Very good restaurant and really inexpensive. They know how to make chinees food. We ordered two plates, they were very big and really inexpensive. It was clean. Not too crouded but always some people.

The food tastes great and serves big portions. Prices are very cheap. The reason only giving 3 stars is for the cleanliness/ambience. Ambience is casual, it can be very loud at times. Cleanliness…I hope they do something about it. Clean up and take away all the clutter. Provide enough lighting, not the dim lights I hope they don’t have sanitary issues when it comes to food handling.

There are a number of Chinese restaurants on Mission in Excelsior/Outer Mission and I’m trying to eat my way through all of them: Sungari Dumpling House, Beijing Restaurant, Henry’s Hunan just to name a few. As a newbie to the neighborhood, it’s tough to choose between them, so sometimes you just have to take the plunge. I remember Chef Hunan from the wonderful woman who greets you and the very simple interior. This gave me nostalgia to my favorite back in Miami, Kon Chau, so was glad I got there on a cold Friday night. The hostess/waitress quickly greeted me and asked if I was ordering take out or dining in, then if I needed a menu. I guess a lot of regulars know what they want and order from heart. I, however, needed time. Their lunch menu has a ton of options, all for less than $ 6, so might be worth loading up on one day when working from home. As for dinner, the menu is still quite impressive. I ended up going with staples — Mongolian Beef, and an order of steamed dumplings. The Mongolian Beef was great. Had the sweet flavor that I’m used to, with delicious pieces of yellow and green onion, and the beef. But it also has a bit of heat to it — I wouldn’t recommend it for my mom — so I loved it even more. The dumplings came 6 to an order and were huge. more steamed than pan fried, they were filling with pork and veggies inside. Between 3 dumplings and half the beef, I had a dinner for Sunday! What I also really liked about the casual atmosphere — seeing what everyone else got. An old Chinese man ordered a large bowl of wonton soup which looked really good; a young man ordered the pork chops; but a couple behind me got the beef hot pot which stole the show with sights, sounds, and smells. If you’re looking for a casual, tasty, quick, and friendly atmosphere, hard to do wrong here. I can see why a lot of regulars give it 5 stars, and I may change my review after a few more trips.

I’ve been going here for years and the service is great. This restaurant has a nice cozy feel to it and it’s never too loud. The lady who takes your orders and brings your food is super nice. She even remembers what me and my girlfriend always get: honey walnut shrimp, fried rice and wonton soup(which are all made very well by the way).

Reasonable prices large selection of items. Lovely older Asian Lady, not sure if she the owner but she is so sweet. The young waiter is friendly and always say«your welcome» whenever you say thank you. Makes me feel appreciated! Great chow fun, They make an scrumptious Asparagus(when in season) beef over rice. Neighborhood and family friendly place.

this place. My 2 favorites are general chicken and chicken wing rice plates. They are so friendly and fast when ordering your food. great tip which makes me continue to go there. If you take forever to pick up your order. They don’t give you cold food. they actual remake your food again so that it is fresh hot and ready to go. Always greeted with a smile

We ordered chicken chow mein and combination fried rice for a party. The food was hot and fresh — not oily and not salty. My kids love going here with their grandma for seafood chow mein and wonton soup. The lady who works there is so nice!

I wish I could write a good review for this small business but my food was just gross. I ordered two different tofu dishes. One was a fried tofu dish with no seasoning and the other was raw rubbery tofu on top of rice with a small amount of seasoning. That one went in the trash after I tasted it. Maybe they need me to show them how to make tofu correctly… The service was great, food came out fast, and the owner was very sweet. Maybe they have good meat dishes?

Great neighborhood restaurant. Food: average to above average Chinese food. Not too oily or salty. Portions are generous. The chow funn dishes are great, as are SOME of their rice dishes(some really disappoint), and the won ton rocks here. Price: CHEAP Service: Sweet Asian lady that works the restaurant usually by herself. She’s such a sweetheart. For a quick bite in a neighborhood restaurant this place is great. Aside from that, nothing really to brag about or worth a drive for.

This place is pretty great and really cheap. I have only had the shrimp fried rice, hot and sour soup and egg rolls. All super good. Anyways, I just wanted to give a shout out to the little lady that runs this place. She is excellent. That is all.

One day I was totally starving and getting an oil change right across the street. I than began to venture past a couple of spots down mission than decide to give this Chinese spot a try. Although it was such an inconvenience that they didn’t accept debit/credit card, the quality and price for my meal was so worth it. Since I live in the neighborhood, this place has been so far my go to spot when in search of some quick, cheap and decent Chinese food! Another thing that always has me returning is the sweet older Asian woman who seems to always work so hard managing a full house of customers with a smile on her face. She totally rocks!

One of my favorite Chinese restaurants in the neighborhood. I wouldn’t say they have the most delicious food in the world but the food they serve tastes decent in terms of their affordable cost. You can fill your stomach less than ten dollars. The restaurant is clean. The host, or the staff whatever, is very friendly and smiles to customers all the time though sometimes she is not understandable due to her accent. Fortunately, I’ve acquired a little bit Cantonese from my friends. Love the place so much! Give it five stars!

+1 star for not being poison, but not being delicious either. +1 star for being cleaner than a restaurant that cheap typically is. When we left there last night I couldn’t think of anything to say except«That sure was food…».

I was brought here for lunch by a coworker because it was one of his favorite Chinese places within fairly short drive from the workplace. The décor was good compared to other restaurants I’ve seen in this area. They do have a menu with reasonably-priced lunch specials with good selection. I ordered the General chicken. It wasn’t quite what I imagined it to be, but still it was a good meal. Entrees and soups look quite reasonably-priced also. Since the operators speak Cantonese, that means that on the menu are Cantonese items like won ton noodles, chow mein and such for which more typical Hunan dishes are not known for, which for me is a definite plus.

This place is one of the cleanest hole in the wall place that I’ve been to so far. Chef Hunan has been around since back in the days. My family and I used to eat here way back when… I haven’t eaten inside the restaurant in years but it always seemed clean whenever I go and pick up our order. My brother ordered food to go last night and it reminded me that they still have one of the best perfectly cooked broccolis, I can’t say anything about the beef cause I never eat the beef in this dish. Most Chinese places that I do go to always ends up over/under cooking their broccolis. What I did have was their crispy chicken and black pepper pork. Both dish were pretty tasty, chicken was nice and crispy on the outside and quite moist in the inside and the black pepper pork turned out yummy. Quick, cheap authentic Chinese food that will not make a dent in your wallet.
