I was looking for a quick lunch and Chim with its lunch special enticed me enough to stop by. Entrée and starter with rice was a tasty combo and rather easy on the pocket for the price. I had another restaurant in mind which was extremely crowded so I started scouting around. Chim looks cozy from the outside and the menu had things which I like. I’ll be back for sure to check out their other offerings.

Nice place for lunch. The place looked small from outside but it had another floor as well. Place is cozy for a small group. Had green curry with chicken. Ordered mild spicy but it was too spicy for me and ended up ordering thai ice tea. Spicy soup with Thai ice tea turned out to be a good combination.

My husband and I went to Chim for dinner before a Tuesday night class in the area, and it was a nice find. Although a bit deserted after business hours, the service is quick and friendly and the portions are generous. I thought my pad-Thai with chicken was OK though a bit over-sauced, but the egg rolls and green curry were great and my husband thought his Thai iced-tea was the best he’s found in a long time. I can see how it could get a little crazed during the lunch rush, but if they stay open for dinner I hope more people check it out!

Just dropped in here for lunch and it was great food, reasonable pricing, clean and good service — what else can you ask for. I am definitely coming back.

If you’re looking for a place with lunch specials that accept credit cards, this is the place! Be aware that this restaurant is rather small. The maximum capacity looked like it was only 20 people. The line was short but it took forever until I was able to place my order. I ordered the special which includes an appetizer and a select main dish. I got the crispy tofu and spicy basil with minced chicken. I waited about 15 minutes to get my food which took longer than it should… The food, however, was filling. I was expecting my dish to have a hint of spiciness in it because of the name, but I didn’t taste any spiciness at all! So if you like spicy, make sure to explicitly request it.

I am here from out Town and have had some amaZing Thai food. This was very mediocre. I got take out Phan Thai and red curry. The peanut sauce in the side was awful and the food was bland. Not to mention gave me the worst stomach ache!!!

Really tasty Thai food. Got the Pad Kee Mow and I told them to make it spicy and boy did they ever! The ring of my mouth is on fire as I type this! But it is a welcome burn. Will definitely be going back.

Came here for dinner because we were looking for a place with fast service, quick and easy food and close to the theater we were going to afterwards. Chim is all of that and more! The place is small, only about a few tables and there was only one waitress. She was very friendly and attentive, asking how the food was whenever she refilled our drinks. The food too was SO well priced — well priced for the area and in general. I got a curry and rice combo and that came out to about $ 11 with tip and tax. It wasn’t the best curry I’ve ever had but it definitely hit the spot. The curry came in a bowl with rice on the side. It had a ton of veggies and decent amount of meat. The only negative thing about it was that there wasn’t enough of the actual curry. I think they were trying to give copious amounts of veggies and meat so they skimped out on the curry even though the bowl was filled to the brim. It was the perfect amount especially because I didn’t want to bring leftovers into the theater and have it smell. They also split checks too, perfect for going out with friends! I need to come back for their lunch specials. I believe it’s $ 9 for an entrée, rice and an appetizer. What a steal!

Great place to have a beer and some khao soi, one of the best dishes on earth. It’s a Northern Thai Burmese-inspired coconut curry noodle dish. It’s a perfect dish and they do it very well at chim. Best with chicken. However, I wouldn’t recommend asking for the khao soi to be extra spicy. Instead of using more of the curry paste vs coconut milk, they just add a bunch of chili peppers, which makes it very spicy but not too interesting. It’s fine as-is.

Tried this Thai place on a whim(sandwich board outside peaked my interest) and wow i am glad i did. Ordered a lunch size basic Thai dish, pad se ew, to go. Good size portions, very good ingredients(a bit light on the chicken but more than made up for with the perfectly cooked noodles and flavors). Order was prepared in under 5 min or you can call in. For $ 9.00 i will definitely be back again.

New go-to Thai place for lunch! I’m so excited I found this place! Only been here once so far, but they have a great lunch special where you can pick one of their 8 dishes over rice and an appetizer for $ 8.95! What a great deal! I got the veggie red curry over white rice with fried tofu. The curry had a nice thick texture and there were so many veggies in the curry, it made me so happy! It was just the right amount of spicy for me as well. The fried tofu was served with sweet and sour sauce and it was super yummy! The tofu still had the crispy texture and the sauce complimented it well! I will definitely be back time and time again, I am so happy I found this place! This place is relatively new/unknown so there’s also no wait, even during peak hours of lunchtime!

The service was fine. I just got take away. I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai. It was really bland, each bite was unfortunately disappointing. It was quick and approx $ 10 inc tax, but just really lacked in flavor.

$ 10 for garlic noodles and chicken and a side salad. What a deal! Chim is a nondescript Thai restaurant which I thought opened recently, having had only 14 reviews. Upon closer review this place is actually huge(have upstairs seating) and has been around for months but I walked by without even noticing. They offer Chinese and Thai food — a lot of curries, some fried rice, and lunch specials($ 9 – 10) which didn’t appeal to me. * GARLICNOODLEBBQCHICKENSPECIAL($ 10) — 3STARS: An enormous portion of overcooked chicken over a monster amount of overly buttered garlic noodles. The low quality butter kind of ruined the flavor for me but let’s be real, I still ate most of it. It comes with a small side spring greens salad doused with thousand island or mustard sauce. I could barely eat it. Portions and value are good but I would only return to try their Thai dishes. Wish they had Thai beef noodle soup…

Went to try this Thai place near work and when I came in I was the only one there at 6 pm. Odd for dinner time but maybe it’s the location. Anyway my Pad Kee Mao was very flavorful and well mixed. It seemed like it took a bit longer(even though no one else was there ordering) but well worth it. Waitress was nice and brought my water in a timely fashion. The only downside and why I gave a 4 star was while it was dinner time, their portions where quite small.

I had dinner here with a group of friends before going out one Wednesday night. Small but clean and comfortable, with high ceilings and a wall of mahogany. The service was stellar from start to finish: our server took good care of us while serving four more tables and setting up for an event. The food was excellent, with fair portions of well-cooked rice and a healthy balance of vegetables and proteins in stir fry dishes. Affordable for four. So great!

Time: 1:22pm/65°F sunny Purpose: Place came under scrutiny after Thai Thai was gone. People said same owner just different name. I came to verify and it was indeed new owners. Ambiance: Structure and setting remains the same as former. Ceramic floor tiles and standard 4’x4’ polish tiles for the counter. Downstair is a 12 person seater with tables for two to four. What’s gone are the white tablecloth, high chairs with 3′-inch cut out hole, curry mustard painted walls w/white trimmings. What’s in are wooden match stick wall planks, round tables, standard chairs, low lip stools, five person wooden counter, stack cube shelves and a array of thai imported decorations. The upstair, I couldn’t elaborate on as, I never went to find out. No reason to do so. Calm vibe no music TV(off) simply as plain as a eatery can get. Staff: One lady about mid 50s greeted me. Shoves menu in front on me, telling me their daily lunch special was on going. While at the counter saw a shorter lady presumably the chef. Had on a chefs attire. Looks over waiting for an order. I told her the order since other lady was busy with patrons. She nodded when I told her what I wanted. It’s not something that I normally do. Cleanliness: Grade A, clean to a certain degree. Minor gripe here. While I was eating the waitress started mopping. Heavy scent of pine-sol scent started to fill the dining area. That didn’t go well while trying to enjoy a meal. Rest of the place nice no complaints. Eats/Drinks: Went with lunch special menu were you choose an app and main entrée. I got wings and spicy egg plant w/chicken $ 8.95. Presentation looks good came piping hot and fresh. Rice came in molded square form was plenty. However, the description listed for wings were for just wings. I received a wing and drumette. Rather have description listed correctly than being suprise. Both were crispy and hot meat easily comes off bone. Main entrée had too much veggies and just a couple pieces of chicken pieces, about 5 – 6. Everything on dish was really fresh, even bell pepper slivers had a crisp clean snap. Eggplant done just right not mushy still holds their shape. Chicken pieces a tad rubbery not stringy hard to peel fiber strands. It’s not a bad meal by any account, but theres room for improvement. Main Features: Curries, tom kha, pad kee mao, BBQ chicken egg noodle, pineapple fried rice. Products/Services: Apps, salads, soups, curries, pan fried noodles, pad thai, egg noodle, fried rice, main course, a la carte, sides, beverages, beer. Vegetarian/GF, no msg, private party/catering, brown rice available. Punch Lines: Zippy service, warm service, moderately price, lunch specials, singha/chang beer, décor leaves something to desired, pleasing flavors, drool-worthy, easy night out, personable staff, calm vibe, well-prepared, can’t go wrong, nothing out of the ordinary, after work drinks and appetizers, kept its standards, satisfactory. Tradeoffs: Made fresh to order with no msg, not the typical premade sitting on steamer tables. Final Thought: Chim is the real deal for thai food made without msg. It’s not the most authentic dishes out there by any means, but made close enough to resemble it. Only downfall is, it competes with chinatown prices on different offerings. I could perhaps make this my go to place for Thai since office is throwing stones away. Then again, thai food is not one of those dishes that I go crazy for.

In terms of value, I’m definitely a fan of this place. For ~$ 12, I was able to satisfy my craving for green curry AND a Thai Iced Tea, even though it was a little bit of a walk from my building on Market. In comparison, one green curry entrée at Osha Thai on 2nd will cost you $ 14. Green curry had a good amount of kick to it, with the chicken and veggies cooked right to my tastes(chicken not too dry, veggies not soggy). My only gripe about this was that there was way too much rice, which wouldn’t normally be a problem… if there was enough curry to go with it. Thai iced tea is pretty standard. Thanks Chim for satisfying my cravings. When I get the Thai craving again, I’ll make the 10 min walk back here again!

Chim has replaced the former Thai Thai restaurant. Although Chim continues to serve Thai food, it appears that the owners are different. Chim’s menu is limited(helpful for those who are indecisive) and includes Thai staples, mainly noodles, rice plates, and curry. The restaurant layout is the same but the décor has changed — the railing is lined with a counter top, tables and chairs are different, the TV is no longer by the cashier but is now above the front window, and the wall décor is different(different paint color downstairs, and upstairs has brick wallpaper), and there are now #s assigned to each table. Service was very friendly and prompt, and our waitress came around to check if everything was okay. I shared the egg rolls appetizer and they were stuffed with veggies and nicely fried, served with chili sauce. For my entrée, I had the pad kee mao with chicken. The noodles weren’t mushy and the chicken was moist. It had the right amount of veggies(bell peppers, carrots, and green beans) and plenty of basil, although the dish was slightly on the salty side.
