I was really happy to learn about this new-ish highly-rated sandwich spot by my house, and even more excited to see that they took orders via Unilocal. So one day on my way home from work downtown, I placed an order for a hot pastrami sandwich with the hope that I could stride in, pick it up, and continue to my meeting up the street. Unfortunately, in the lunch rush, they never got my order. Fortunately, the guy running the shop was so helpful and flexible that I told him what happened, and he started a pastrami for me right away. Within a few minutes, I was enjoying a delicious sandwich. The interior is clean and adequate as a deli should be, but nothing special. Don’t bring a date here or anything. Bring someone you want to eat a hot pastrami sandwich with.

Today on my 100th check in(there should be a prize for that) I want to tell everyone how great this little place is. While relatively new, the kinks of a new business are almost non-existent with their welcoming staff. What may seem like a small quaint menu is only the tip of the iceberg. They will make almost anything you want utilizing the ingredients on the board. Want that sandwich in a lettuce wrap? no problem! want to customize your own juice from the bar? no problem! Raymond and his crew are very accommodating and will pretty much do whatever they could to make your experience a good one.

Every time I come in here, I’m promptly greeted with a smile and«How can I help you?» Customer service here is definitely #1 and the food here is equally great as well. Behind the counter they make sure your order is to your liking and the quality of the ingredients and food is great. Come here if you want a healthy and filling meal/snack for your cravings.

I’m kind of in love with this place. They’re super kind to their customers and to each other in a really tiny little space. They have a pretty enormous menu for the size they have to work with and their sandwiches are consistently great. All the starz.

While I wasn’t sold by the name of this place, but I got over that quickly. I was there around 10am and the staff was super attentive, helpful and friendly. I had a cappuccino and the special — tri tip romansco with melted cheese(don’t recall which) peperoncinis and arugula on foccacia bread. Definitely recommend! Place could use some atmosphere, but definitely was a nice way to reward myself after a visit to Kaiser!

Best breakfast burrito in town. Light. Egg, bacon, avocado, salsa & cheese. Scrumptious.

I tried the Detox with a little apple and a breakfast burrito. Nice guy working the counter. I’m glad I was recommended apple in the juice. Food was good. I can’t ask for anything more.

Ray’s a great owner: he’s funny, hands-on & went above the call of duty to customize our sandwich and smoothie orders to make sure we were totally happy. Food was delicious to boot.

I came in to grab a quick sandwich and ordered a turkey sandwich on focaccia. The turkey was fresh, and I ordered mozzarella cheese which was fresh also. The sandwich was absolutely delicious. The owner was attentive and pleasant. I will definitely return.

Remember it well. He didn’t remember making my excellent turkey with cranberry sauce and veggies on a wheat roll the previous week. It was $ 7.50 of awesome. But that didn’t stop the excellence as a few days later he was making an excellent egg white, avocado and salsa on wheat breakfast sandwich. It was $ 6.00 of deliciousness. Off at a side counter there was an unfortunately bland Americano with no syrup options but also a fortunately bit great carrot and ginger fresh juice. 4.5oz steal for $ 4.50. Taken away and definitely enjoyed later was fettuccine with grilled chicken and tomato sauce. Hearty and healthy and a reasonable $ 7. From the first gentleman helping me to the entire staff the service was as good as the food. Space is a basic café with WiFi available. Definitely will remember four strong stars.

Second time trying this place. First time they ran out of tri-tip so got the roast turkey. It was good except that the olive tapenade I paid an extra buck for was merely chopped olives. Lame. Went back today and gave the flank steak a try. They had run out of rolls so I got it on sliced sourdough… not optimal bread for this meat. But, this time they did have the tapenade. It was fine but hardly any put on. Hey, if you’re going to overcharge me for it, at least give me some. They also skimped on the meat. To cap it off, they had the nerve to charge $ 10 for it(plus the extra $ 1 for the tap). Again… lame. Think i’ll give this place one more shot for a non-‘special’ sandwich but just walk up the street to 4505 for tri-tip/steak type fare. Really was hoping for big things from Cool Cravings but so far I’m unimpressed. On a positive note… staff are all very nice, including the owner.

Love this juice bar! I asked for a juice that was a little sweet with leafy greens. The owner, Raymond, was so personable, and made it to my liking. Kale, apples, celery($ 4.50? 12oz). He made sure I enjoyed the juice, which I absolutely loved! They have other kinds of salads and sandwiches. I also had the breakfast burrito($ 6.99), which was delicious. The place is in a super convenient location. Right next to the hospitals. It’s so clean and has a great vibe. The prices are super reasonable. My new neighborhood go-to café!

I was warmly welcomed and quickly glanced at the menu. The macaroons(the coconut mounds not the french ones) looked enormous and delicious here. I went the healthy route and ordered a mean green juice concoction. It had kale, celery and apple. I asked them to sweeten it up since I hate the taste of kale so the guy threw in some pear. He made my drink and was pleasantly social. $ 4.50 later I walked out with a smile on my face. I’d love to have a similar café in my neighborhood. Too bad I don’t :/

Time: 12:17pm/56°F intermittent cloud Purpose: With colleague in towed we had to finish up SF for the week. So rushing through all places as for tomorrow is Friday, meaning eastbay day. Today wasn’t a good day for meetings mainly the weather keeps people home, including business owners. Ambiance: Located in corner building bottom flat space across from UCSF Medical Center Mt Zion. Sidewalk with blackboard ad couple of mylar balloons attached. Inside color scheme of mostly orange, brown, and off white. Bright light bars for deli counter and juice bar really makes it easy to attract people that are just by passers. Furniture we’re looking at four regular and four high with high back chairs. Linoleum wooden ersatz floor boards. Boomerang wedge counter display with seven cookies jars, five boxes of Ritter Sport wafers, and double sided see through pastry box. Payment area with wooden utility cart, industrial two tier shelf packed with chip, and a Kindbar six tier display stand. Behind counter electric twin blade meat slice, toaster, sink, rubbermaid tubs, prep area, cutting board, magnetic knife bar, 4 panel overhead menu board, convection oven, cleaning supplies. To the left three door beverage fridge with middle section filled with fresh fruits/veggies for juices. Juice bar area starts with ice cream freezer(no ice cream) for storage only. Couple of fruit baskets, single spout commercial grade juice, tea boxes, menu board, table with coffee decanter and pot pumps, sleeves of plastic cups. Wi-Fi network password posted nearby. Staff: Guy about late 30s may be early 40s nice and friendly. We got along just fine as, I know he wanted to impress my colleague but, I didn’t mind she’s not a gf just a coworker. Even with lunch rush he’ll let you know that he sees you but, busy at the moment and will get to us as asap. We told him no worries take your time. He was glad we came and we was glad we got juices and snacks on him. Cleanliness: Grade A, clean in/out as for juice bar is the main reason we came but, throughout the place passable. Eats/Drinks: I got The Mean Green 16oz $ 5.50 colleague got Complete Workout also 16oz $ 5.50, one chocolate chip and one pb cookie $ 1.85ea. Got hook up so priceless. Both drinks are freshly made in yo face, that’s what owner said to us. I had a sip off colleague drink and she did same to minds. We both concluded that juice tasted so fresh its like you just pick it from garden to juicer with minutes. Cookies were good to but, these are from a local bakery with familiar signature pebbles. Out of respect can’t disclose info, sorry. Products/Services: Juices, smoothies, bottle beverage, coffee/tea, breakfast burrito, bagels croissants, salads, soup of day, all pizza $ 10(yields about 5 – 6 slices), veggie sandwich, sandwiches, energy bars, Ritter Sport wafers, cookies, biscottis, pop chips, pretzel chips, kettle chips, Kind bar, dolmas, olives, cold cuts, hummus. Create your own, choice of ciabatta, wheat, sourdough, focaccia, rye, gluten free. Extras from $.50−2.00. Punch Lines: Busy divisadero corridor, medical center, doctors offices, ER, street parking, specialty shops, minimal seating, takes plastic, no lines, no espresso machine(drip coffee self served only), fresh juices, limited snack options, pleasing flavors, modest cost, special bargain, budget watchers, personable staff, well prepared, light bites, zippy service, business lunch, can’t go wrong, causal and delicious, char crust pizza. Tradeoffs: When you feel like really having a fresh juice or smoothie this place may make you think twice before about J**ba Juice. As fresh as it gets again, in yo face freshness. Final Thoughts: This place is still somewhat settling down finding their ways. Their peak times are 7 – 9:30am/11−1:30pm anything in between is just walk in indecisive crowd, mostly relatives waiting for a love one recovering across street. There are several other items that a deli would normally carry but, its not seen. Giving them the benefit of doubt perhaps one day it’ll open later and have more product line up.
