This place, the first Asian consignment shelf store in SF, has promise, if it can attract the right sellers. The location is a bit hard to spot though. According to their website, these types of shelf stores started in Japan and have become popular in other Asian countries. Right now the store is about half empty and the merchandise is very Asian. You can rent a cubicle/shelf for as little as $ 2/day. It has some merchandise that I haven’t seen elsewhere, like some Beijing Olympics toys, cell phone charms(including ones that look like shu mai & cake rolls), lots of solar toys and condoms with cutesy Asian characters on the wrapper. They also have steering wheel covers, cell phone accessories, Hello Kitty, San X, cosmetics, sunglasses, tights, jewelry, clothes, musical lights, sneakers, and pens. Everything was new. I bought a donut shaped tape dispenser that comes with«Dongkin Donuts» sticky tape(Korean version of Dunkin Donuts) — very cute. The prices seem quite reasonable, less than you’d pay at other stores for this type of merchandise. I also have my eye on the plush octopus tissue dispenser but it’s hard to justify having more than one plush tissue dispenser. Cash only.
