Love this place! Lots of rad unique gifts and also a lot of local brands to find here. Great shop!

I can’t think of a single store that has been so successful at fulfilling my holiday shopping needs in a one-​stop-​shop. From kitschy vintage magazines circa 1960’s to trendy cards and candleholders, this spot has something for your Grandma, your mom, your nephew, and your fiancé. Adorable, handcrafted trinkets and wall décor fill the store, and the pricing isn’t out of the ballpark for most items.
This is definitely a place to hit up for your next occasion, whether it’s a baby shower, an engagement, or a birthday. Wish Bone has it all!

What can I say? I’m a sucker when it comes to local gift stores like this one. The stuff they carry is unique and high quality – that being said some of the things they have can also get a bit pricey, so you gotta spend some time looking through for some investment pieces.
One of the hidden gems in this store are the candles they carry. If you’re looking for some scents, they have amazing Kabo candles in the back (hint: smell the uncultured sake; you’ll get hooked).
If you’re looking for stocking stuffers or small gifts and cards to get your family/​friends, this is a great place to stop by. They’ve got quirky little mugs, beautiful picture frames and super friendly service :)

This is the most unique gift store with an array of greeting cards, specialty candles, baby items and whimsical finds.
If you are tired of going to a big box store and buying the usual gifts for your friends or family, stop by this neighborhood shop and spend some time browsing for the most cutest stuff. I’ve seen handmade kitchen accessories from Japan, kitschy jewelry, creative greeting cards and travel friendly shot glasses. (always important!)

It’s a real cute store with a lot of interesting finds. works for my quirky sense of humor. The baby and kids toys are adorable but a little too pricey. I might buy a little something as a last minute baby shower or birthday gift for a friend but there’s no way I can afford to drop $ 50 on wooden blocks! All in all a fun little store to browse around and occasionally get a little something for yourself or a friend. Also if the N inbound is taking a while to show up, you can definitely kill some time here, an added bonus!

This has been my «go-​to» spot for years for last minute unique cards and funky gifts! It’s cool little spot, with the kind of merchandise that keeps you wandering around from one side of the store to the other!

So bummed. Drove over from the Richmond District to support a local business and arrived at 5:59. Door was locked. There were still customers browsing inside. (The sign said they closed at 6:00.) I called and asked if they had the very item I came to purchase and the gal said yes. I waved at her from outside and she said, «We are closed. I am just waiting for this guy to leave. We are beyond closed.» It was now 6:02 and I was standing outside staring at the item I came for. I told her I guessed I would have to buy it off the internet. She did not seem to mind. I walked away totally disappointed and wondering how the owner would have felt about the customer service. Pretty bummed I am guessing cause I won’t be back. Ever. I probably spent more on gas coming over here then Amazon would have charged for shipping.

I am always on the hunt for something unique, funky, and local inspired is always a plus.
Today they had adult shirts for $ 10. You can’t beat that.
I love their children’s shirts. Locally inspired and very cute (Had they been just a tad cheaper I would add a star. I love to find a good deal).
The children’s toys are very cute and the selection of knick knacks for adults is excellent (I have to restrain myself when I come in here).
He customer service is lovely here. The girl that helped me was very pleasant and very helpful.
If you’re looking for cute funky gifts for your kids or want to decorate your apartment, office, or cubicle, this place has something to add character.

I like this place, I really do, but their hours of operation are so limited that they might as well just close. I live and work in the neighborhood and I hardly ever make it in here when they are open.

While out and about recently running some errands I stumbled into Wishbone. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular or planning on making any purchases, but as a self-​admitted sucker for anything cutesy and girly, I just couldn’t help but do a little knick-​knack shopping!
The boutique itself was darling, filled with fun little gifts, cute kitchen accessories, picture frames, candles, mugs, eclectic jewelry from local artists, a little bit of everything I could want, but to top it off a massive and entirely adorable card and stationary section, I could have stayed there for hours! I will definitely be back when I have more time to peruse and carefully select some new stationary, I’m trying to bring back the lost art of hand written thank you cards!
Of course with any shop like this, the prices are always a little more than you want. It’s frustrating when you’re on a budget, but I understand I’m paying for the charming atmosphere and unique selection.
I also noticed they don’t open until 11:30. I’m glad I saw that on my way out, since it’s a little odd and I generally am out and about in the morning. Either way, I feel like I found Etsy in a boutique form with a San Francisco twist, which makes me happy.

Love the fun and eclectic goodies you can find in this little shop. I’m always able to find one of a kind gifts for my friends here. Wonderful selection of boxed holiday cards– wait till right after Christmas and pick up cards for next year at 40% off.

This place is adorable! Perfect for finding little (affordable gifts) for friends (or yourself!). This is my favorite shop in the inner sunset for sure. The employees are helpful and friendly, and the merchandise varies from higher end brands like Bee House to fun silly items from Kikkerland.

Love shopping local. Wishbone is an unexpected little surprise in this neighborhood. Filled to the brim with hipster humor, you’ll find everything from snarky greeting cards to adorable baby accessories to animal-​shaped eating utensils you never knew you needed. I love the variety of stationery here. This is a great place to find a unique gift for someone in your life, spice up your desk, or just go window shopping while you’re waiting for your Muni.
At this time of writing, they also have tons of unique ornaments up to decorate your Christmas tree. I’m really tempted to decorate my tree with cats and squirrels from Wishbone.
I love the unique charm that Wishbone brings to the Sunset.

This is a nice little store that has stationery, gift wrap/​gift bags, jewelry, coffee mugs, some baby clothes/​toys, random keychains, and other novelty items.
I was in the store for a good 15 minutes and definitely noticed that a lot of the items were slightly expensive for what they were. Cute, but pricey.
I didn’t want to leave empty handed because I don’t frequent the area that often, so I purchased a single greeting card and a boxed set of 8 Thank You cards, which came out to about $ 18.
Later that day, I went to Papyrus and found the same boxed set for less than I paid for at Wishbone. I felt like I had been duped.
All in all, I would say that this store is an ok place to find a random gift. And I would come back. But, as far as the stationery is concerned, it’s best to shop around first to get a good deal. Lesson learned.

Love these guys– Wishbone is so cool! They have the best trinkets and CARDS… amazing Cards (I’m a total card person and I always come here!). It’s just a great all around little shop to find fun presents for just about anyone on your list!

Why three stars? It’s way too pricey for what they sell. I get it that they have to make a profit, but if they were a tad more reasonable I’d up their stars!

Cute, original, expensive cards here. I bought an engagement card for a friend here. Loved all of the ones available. Lots of other cute nick-​nacks in this store. I’d definitely come back if I were in the area. You have to spend at least $ 5 to charge or there’s a fee I believe. Friendly service!

Oh, so sad. My very first one-​star review.
As an SF local, born and raised, I visited wishbone frequently as it was close to both my home and school. It’s a great place to pick up a gift for that person who has everything. It’s even a great place to lift your mood because most of their products are cute, colorful, and creative.
Alas, during my last trip home this past week, I had an experience with Wishbone that will keep me from going back. I needed to pick up a last minute Christmas present and knew Wishbone would have something in store.
I’m not sure if management has changed or new owners took over, but the people manning the counter were simply atrocious. No one greeted my boyfriend or I as we walked in. No one smiled. No one offered to help when I was standing in front of the locked jewelry case. When the sales lady finally opened the jewelry case for me, I asked her if one of the rings was made of sterling silver. She replied with «uh…I’m not sure.» That was it…
While I was desperately trying to get some customer service from one sales rep, my boyfriend was being followed by the other one! Almost foot on foot, as if they were making sure he wasn’t going to steal something. I mean, I get that it’s the holidays, so theft may be more likely, but could you be less obvious about monitoring your customers? Hovering over someone in a store makes it an uncomfortable shopping experience. Hello?!
Finally, despite all of it, I still wanted to purchase my items and just get out of there. After the sales rep rang me up, she asked for my credit card. I handed her my American Express. She took the card from me as if it were covered in poop. She showed it to some man standing behind her and then to the sales rep standing next to her. She handed it back to me and said «Oh. We don’t accept American Express.» Literally in the rudest tone that anyone has ever spoken to me with. Do you have a sign in your store that says «We do not accept American Express» or «We accept Visa & Master Card» ?? Nope. Am I a mind reader? I wish, but nope. So then how am I supposed to know that you don’t accept American Express, quite possibly one of the largest credit card companies on the planet? So many better ways to have told me they didn’t accept American Express.
I paid with my Visa and left the store.
Their return policy is store credit only. Had it been otherwise, I would have gone right back in to return my purchase in full.

Wishbone is a cute little corner store that offers a huge selection of random things you don’t need, but really want. They carry cards, stationery, handbags, cookbooks, candles, soaps, magnets, keychains, teapots, and baby clothes… just about anything that’s great for gifting. Some of the items I’ve seen here have also been sold at Tutti Frutti half a block away (now closed), but slightly more expensive here. Customer service is lacking, and the return policy isn’t great (no returns, only exchange or store credit).
I generally walk out of the store empty-​handed, simply because I can’t justify paying $ 20 for an item that’s $ 15 or less elsewhere. But it’s still fun to stop by the store and browse.

Yes, a really cute store but excessively overpriced. The tiny Moleskine notebook was being sold for $ 18 and the regular sized notebook was either $ 21 or $ 24. They are marking up the prices $ 4-​$ 5 more than suggested retail price.
I stopped by twice. The first time I was alone in the store except for the two ladies behind the counter. They completely ignored me. The second time there were many people in the store and one of the ladies greeted me.
Great, cute items but the prices are offensively high.
