The process of getting your food at this restaurant is very difficult and is not how any American establishment works. One individual in my group ordered buffet, finished her plate, and went up to get more food. The owner wouldn’t allow her to get food and said that she had shared the food with myself and another which was completely false. After arguing and telling him that we did not share, she asked for a refund after not even getting something we paid for, which he would not give. He started taking pictures of us and ended up calling the police for something we did not do. The food on the other hand was horrible and the service was worse. The owner was extremely rude and I find it absurd that he would accuse one of sharing food when she did not. Would not recommend this to anyone especially if you are American. I don’t know how this«restaurant» has stayed in business with the horrible reviews that it already has.

This place open once a week and the food they serve is old. They don’t attract the local cuz we know all about them, food sucks, mistreating employees, and it’s very dirty, zero star, restaurant rating is «0». Stay away from this place, don’t get sucker in.

This place a scam! $ 5.99 all you can eat dim sum gives you no napkins, no water, shrimp dumping with no shrimp, buns that are bought at the supermarket frozen. There were only a few limited choices, and they all tasted disgusting. Not only that, we waited forever for fried rice that we just walked out and with our stomachs not even filled. Even a cup of water is extra, as it will cost you an extra $ 1.50 per person. The shu mai tasted fishy, for sure not fresh, likely several days old. Avoid this place at ALLCOSTS. Don’t be lured in by the cheap price! Plus the guy overcharged us. I wish I could give zero stars.

I would recommend this place if you really want to lose weight because first it’s raw and second you going to go home with food poison! That’s mean you’re going to puke your whole heart! I grabbed me an egg custard and it was a fresh egg yolk straight in my throat! Disgusting!!! If you want some quick money then eat there and sue! I am disappointed!!!

I kind of wondered for the rest of the day if I would not feel well, but it’s been hours, and I’m feeling fine, so I guess it was okay :). I had the barbeque buns(bao), and they were just okay. I’ve had a lot better in Denver. For being in Chinatown, I wasn’t super impressed.

0STARS! By far worst place I have ever eat at in the Bay Area. At first you think of how cheap the buffet and sounds like a great deal! But once you walk in and look at the food you realize why it is so cheap to begin with. This place will gross you out to the point of not knowing what you are actually eating. Walking in I was starving but after questioning the quality of the food… and what its actually made of just went to McDonalds instead. Worst experience I have ever had. Only fun was criticising the food to the point of it becoming comical, I don’t know how this place hasn’t been shut down yet. Like someone else put it «best dog food I’ve ever had»

I saw 6 dollar AYCE dim sum and I could not resist. me and my friend stumbled upon this place by accident… We walk in and get greeted by a very nice man. He was super friendly and gave us a good vibe. However… the food… the food was beyond horrible… everything tasted as if they steamed their food with sewer water. Everything tasted off, the beef, the chicken, the seafood, the rice, the buns. If you blind folded me and had me try that I would never ever guess it was dim sum food. I was so scared of getting food poisoning after eating here. DONOTCOMEHERE. YOUWILLREGRETIT.

SteMedbyellow cake was not good and dry at lost parts. All you can eat dim sum with about only 10 or less selections We ordered the dim sum we wanted but they didn’t even make everything to order… Honestly the beef and pork balls and dim sum was not good at all:(even the shrimp ones. Flavor tasted as if they used dirty water . Sure the guy was nice but the food was not appetizing at all. Fried rice… I can make great fried rice and even a mediocre one would taste better . Sorry but it can definitely be better. Love the service but food and flavor a definitely need help.

can I give«dislike» or negative star? worst dim sum ever. For $ 5.99, you’re served with very lousy dim sum, some undercook, icy frozen. terrible service, dirty place. I have goose bump everytime I think of my trip there, avoid it of all cost!

Horrible food, meat looks like the pink slime I saw a feature on, on tv. Sounds cheap but $ 6.99($ 1 extra to use a card) is a lot to pay for shitty fried rice when every other offering is inedible.

Zero stars for this restaurant. The owner puts on a fake smile and lures you in but he is a dishonest man with no conscience to serve such poor quality food to his customers. The shrimp dumpling did not have any shrimp and ingredients we cannot identify and with lots of food coloring. All items in the steamer was dried up. We also ordered a wonton soup and BBQ duck with rice. The wonton soup came with 7 extremely small size dumplings, it was embarrassing, it costed $ 6.25. The BBQ duck was nothing but bones and a sad scoop of rice, it costed $ 7.99. The bbq duck felt like scraps and we wouldn’t be surprised that they served us food from garbage other people threw out. The food is NOTHING like the photos displayed in the store front. The sanitation is questionable. The tea that came out of the pot had colorful soap bubbles that we did not dare to drink. On the ground near the self serve water/tea/hot water are two large piles of dirty dishes that customers would place after they finished eating. As we started to question everything about this business, we started calculating the cost of our food. We first paid 3x $ 5.99 buffet and he over charged us exactly by $ 1(instead of $ 19.50, he charged us $ 20.50), he first denied and said $ 20.50 was correct, but we broke it down with tax and it was obvious we are right. It’s unbelievable as owner he would not know by heart the cost of $ 5.99 for 3 people with tax is. That means he’s always overcharging customers and he was denying instead of apologizing his wrong doing. It’s basic math, idiot, you cannot argue it. DONOTCOMEHERE. It’s a tourist trap, they are cheating people and it’s sad to have such a business on this busy chinatown street.

The food is what you expect for $ 6 all you can eat. The shrimp dumplings are pretty good. I ate mostly shrimp dumplings and the fried rice, and I got so full from just a small plate. The lotus buns are cute and delicious, and the taro buns are good if they’re hot and fresh. Sui Mai is bigger than I see from our normal dim sum place in Chinatown LA. I didn’t eat them, but my parents said they tasted pretty good. The atmosphere is kinda sketchy, and I saw a couple flies around the tables. Kind of gross. Also kind of confusing seating thing because you wait for the guy to hand you the paper plate and you pick up what you want yourself. But the guy is really nice.

We walked by and had heard about the all you can eat dim sum for cheap. Less than $ 6 for dim sum? Crazy! There were signs advertising various deals and we decided, what the heck, let’s try the milk tea and some custard buns for $ 5. We went inside to wait for our order and found a few tables occupied that were set up like picnic tables. We saw customers walk up to the area where they could choose from various dumplings and maybe steamed buns? I couldn’t see all the items to choose from but it didn’t look like more than 5 items in the steamers. There’s a washroom but when I asked for the key, I was told someone was in there by I’m assuming Dick. But then a minute later another person in our group was given a key. I didn’t use the washroom so I can’t comment but was told it’s not a toilet to sit on! We waited about 5 minutes and the milk tea and buns were ready. The buns weren’t eaten right away and by the time we got back to the hotel, they were hard as rock. After microwaving, they tasted ok. Will not be back here and the all you can eat dim sum doesn’t look appealing at all.

The owner is super friendly – a Chinatown gem, I’d say. And the food is good for the price – you are, after all, paying $ 6 for all-you-can-eat dim sum. If you come in with the right expectations, you’ll walk out satisfied. Besides, a place like this is supposed to be a little rough around the edges, right?

Ahh Dick Lee’s. I was lured here by the siren call of the $ 5.99AYCE Dim Sum option and completely forgot to check any previous Unilocal review of this establishment. But alas, as my poor unsuspecting friends and I fell prey to the seduction we soon realized that you get what you pay for. The dim sum was tasteless and stale and I believe there was a fly of some sort taking a swim in the soy sauce bottle. The owner was very nice though, but unfortunately that offers little recompense for the terrible food. To top it all off, there was the delightful aroma of dog sh** lingering in the air; cutting short our interlude(and our misery) at Dick Lee’s.

This guy is awesome! He is soooo friendly! Sooo attentive. For that he gets five stars. The all you can eat dim sum or ALLYOUCANNOTEAT dim sum for $ 5.99? Not good at all. Bland. The siumai needs more structure. It looked like its about to fall apart while just staring at it. Extra $ 1+ for hot tea. The fried rice? Sigh. Needs more sodium! We accidentally ended up walking inside his place because Delicous Dim Sum next door closed early at 7pm. Gah! If we just walked further down there was plenty of other 4 – 5 stars dim sum heaven. On the other hand. It was such a blast. We tried to actually decipher his style of business and we finally ate. We sat there with two kinds of music blaring. Chinese near where Mr Lee was and hip hop where we’re eating. Bad food but really great service, but foodies go where good food is. So not going back. Ever! This is one of those reviews I feel bad about the low rating. The guy is really great :(

It was our fault for not checking here before eating, what a mistake! I Should have known it was bad because it was peak lunch hour, and no one was inside. First off, the dim sum buffet is $ 7 even, and it’s pretty bad: The«shrimp» dumpling had no noticeable shrimp inside. Instead, there was some mushy yellow filling. I tried to ignore the look and focus on the taste to give it a fair shot. Still not good! The Sui Mai also tasted bad, and was undercooked. I mean it was completely pink inside, though my friend suggested it could have been food coloring… The best part about my meal was the complementary water with lemon flavor. That was it. Something also to be aware of for clean freaks, this place has a health rating of 42⁄100(the standard is 90 – 100, and I have only seen very few other places below that!)! And you definitely get that vibe. I would definitely recommend eating elsewhere!

Sesame balls for $ 1…and they’re huge! Just passing through with a friend visiting for the weekend and decided to pop in for a pastry. Was looking for an egg custard tart but the sesame balls were the first thing to catch my eye and they were definitely large enough to tide me over until getting to our next meal so we grabbed a few to go. Friendly man at the front helped us out and served us… would totally go back next time I pass through and try another yummy dessert!
