Great bar. Tried a side car for the first time and it was perfectly made. The bar tender was very friendly as well. Love the atmosphere, one of my favorite places to go!

As the name says… Saloon and it’s pretty much what you expect. The best seat in the house would be by the bad near the window or somewhere near a fan cause that place gets toasty! I can see how this is a favorite neighborhood bar with the neighborhood feel and very«local» scene. This place is down the road so I could definitely see myself walking down and getting a beer.

********************* 1517 ********************** What not to love about this saloon? When nothing else in the Dogpatch area opens, we come here! One good old neighborhood bar with good people. And it’s cleaner than most dive bars I’ve been too.

Whoa — this bar was a pleasant boozy surprise! I came in here before a Giants game not too long ago. My original plan was to grab a drink @ Serpentine across the street, but alas it was close until 5pm. So I looked across the street and the friendly vibes of Dogpatch Saloon called out to me and lured me in. This is definitely a casual, no-frills neighborhood bar filled with colorful local characters & regulars. It reminded me a little bit of Elixir in the Mission. What really amazed me about the place was the high caliber of their cocktail program. At first glance, you wouldn’t expect a place like this to have in-house mixologists and cocktails made with obscure spirits & ingredients. I ordered two beverages — one was made with Mezcal, and the other was bourbon-based(I wish I could recall the drink names, but they don’t have the menu posted online). In any case, both cocktails were fantastically refreshing and well balanced(and certainly packed quite a punch!). By the time I left the bar, I was stumbling a little bit in the direction of the ballpark. All in all, the Dogpatch Saloon does the neighborhood proud, and I would totally come back to do some pre-game tailgating!

Nice and spacious. Not too loud. Has a few sour beers(almanac and something else I don’t recall… Both bottles) which is always a plus in my book.

The bar was all right. I have to say that it was super dim for me and my eyes were not having it. My boyfriend and I ordered a Moscow Mule and it was an all right drink. I love it when bars serve it copper cups! Seating was a bit difficult too so you may have to stand up for a bit to find a seat.

Super chill bar, great atmosphere, and cool drinks. they have a great beer selection, which I truly appreciate, and creative cocktails. And best of all, they allow our furry friends to come around, too. One note — though they don’t serve food here, they are totally cool with you brining in pizza from down the street, which I’ve done several times. Ho yeah!

A little divey, but the staff is friendly and they allow dogs. My drink(Bully’s Pulpit) was amazing… I never finish anything before my boyfriend, but I finished this long before he finished his Whiskey Snap, and didn’t even notice! Would definitely come again. It looks like it would be good for groups or a party.

This is my first review! These assholes refused me service on the basis of a Canadian driver’s license. Total assholes. Never go here.

As another bartender in the hood. That’s what I do. Christopher at Dogpatch has displayed an honesty and integrity that I have not see in our business in a long time . I dropped my tips from my night of work out of my pocket. I am a regular. Tonight I came in and he handed them to me. I did not even know I had lost them. What a gentleman. They make excellent drinks. They are always wonderful. Veronica, Edward, Matt, Christina and Craig . As side from the fact it’s a wonderful bar. I am in the business. Christopher’s actions have given me belief that good people still exist. Go in have a drink and tip a little extra as this level of honesty is hard to find . Thank you Christopher.

Great seating options and the large windows are the main draws at this old-timey saloon, definitely showing signs of renovation after the 83 Proof gang took it over. We stopped in after the SF Street Food Festival and were surprised it wasn’t totally overwhelmed by crowds. Prices are reasonable($ 5 craft beers on tap), and it’s a full-service bar for those who need options. The owner was very responsive when I asked a question via e-mail.

Five stars for making great drinks, offering good ambiance(i.e. old-school clean dive bar), and charging $ 5 for a pint of beer. If you’re looking for a trendy new spot, a sports bar, a biker bar, a velvet rope, or a total dive this is not your place. If you’re looking for a casual bar that has plenty of room to sit and talk with friends, casual ambiance, a bit of culture, and great drinks — this is absolutely you’re place. I honestly don’t know the price of mixed drinks here but for about $ 8 – 9 you can get yourself a solid old fashioned — honestly one of the best I’ve had. There are generally a great mix of people, from dock workers getting off-shift, to hipsters, to young professionals, to middle aged couples having a post-dinner drink after Serpentine or Piccino — it’s a very eclectic mix. I’m happy to call this my neighborhood bar!

Not bad for a bar that opens late! The décor instead is quite interesting – it feels like an old west bar, which is consistent with the name of the place. The wait staff is somewhat friendly – a little slow to serve but in general pretty friendly. For a Tuesday night, and in a relatively less crowded district, this place actually had some customers even late into the night, which is a good sign! In general, a pretty good neighborhood bar.

I had a very interesting experience here and it’s not entirely on the establishment itself, but mainly the patrons. I was here with a bunch of ladies a couple of weeks ago for a bachelorette party. We had already been drinking. Some more than others. We were standing at the end of the bar by the handicap seating where there were 3 people sitting there. Two guys and oen girl. A few of the girls ordered 4 shots of Fernet. After they got there shots placed on the table, I ordered my drink and I can’t remember which one I got, but I think it was the Soca Warrior. Once the bartender started making my drink, is when the crap hit the fan. First off, while waiting for my drink, I saw that there was one shot of Fernet still sitting on the table. One of the guys that was closest to me, grabbed the shot and drank it! He drank it and I called him out on it and he drunkenly try to say one of my friends offered it to him. It I brought it to the girls’ attention, which they weren’t happy about it and confronted him. Probably less than 30 seconds later, the same friend tells us to look down. I look, and now the other guy is feeling up my friend while his girlfriend is just sitting there!!! So things went south quick and not everyone was aware what had happened so the rest of our time there was a big mess and we ended up leaving. To end this review, some of the patrons here are pretty trashy, but I have to thank the bartenders for putting up with us, hence the 3 stars. Crap always goes down in the Dogpatch neighborhood.

Wow, I can’t believe it took me this long to finally come here, considering I live some five blocks away. Under renovation when I first moved in to the neighborhood, these folks finally re-opened earlier this year, with a new look that’s still very befitting the saloon namesake — there’s even a piano towards the back! But, contrary to what I expected, they serve up a pretty solid menu of fancy cocktails, with… well, a lot of liquors I hadn’t even heard of before. I ended up trying their Grey Whale, which was okay, and their Whiskey Snap, which was fantastic. So, hey. Fancy $ 10 cocktails(the price is right), dog-friendly, and within walking distance of my home, so I can stumble back in a drunken haze? AWESOME. ***Accessibility Info*** Venue — I’ve never seen this place super packed, so, given that, the venue is spacious enough that it shouldn’t be too hard to get around. Most of their seating is either counter seating, or couch seating, so those of us in wheelchairs can just slide in to the sides that don’t have any seating at all. The bar itself, of course, is the usual counter height, so you’ll face the usual difficulties there. Bathroom — Didn’t check them out.

Stopped in for a beer and some cards after catching up with friends across the street at Smokestack. It’s a cute, cozy, divey but clean atmosphere that kept us all warm, watered, and happy for the hour or so we hung out there. Cheap beers and lots of options. I’m a fan.
